The Last of Us Part II2
Jun 22, 2020
Pro :
1. Good graphics, smooth animations Cons :
1. Terrible AI. I saw bots running around in circle, stuck in invisible walls etc. Even other characters behave like absolute dunces and get stuck, can't do anything properly except for cutscenes. 2. Story - Take Revenge for X - > Spend whole time killing people - > Don't take revenge as killing is bad........ I felt cheated at this point. I just killed a hundred people and you are now preaching me about killing. Go home you are drunk game! Now, I am sure you all remember that this was one of the many many stories in GTA IV but even GTA IV, who is not known for story but gameplay and exploration, have players choices. However, the Last of Us 2 thinks we are incapable of making important choices and forces the narrative down our throat. Purchased because first game was masterpiece but this sequel left a bad taste and went backwards. Won't bother with sequel.

A truly hidden gem. You are ready to go from start and the progression comes in form of knowledge. Really unique game. Gave it 9/10 as it could have included more explanation of certain fundamentals like ship computer and some sort of navigator. I know the game doesn't want to hold your hand but at some point you may have to youtube the solution. Better give a occasional navigator that works like every respawn once.

Star Control: Origins7

Pros : 1. Music is nice, art style and humor. Cons: 1. Bugs in lots of quests making you unable to finish them. 2. Horrible resource grind. Absolutely boring. 3. Ship upgrades are organised terribly. 4. Lack of polish everywhere. Could have used 6 more moths of work at least. 5. Galaxy is dull. 6. Can't even buy resources. So if you need 100 of a resource but have only 95 of it then go around wasting hours instead of a neat option to buy the 5 resources at high price. How could they possibly miss it. 7. No resource marker or radar. Waste your time looking for stuff. 8. Has steep difficulty curves which are sudden sometimes. Why I gave it 7? Because I used cheatengine and gave myself unlimited money. As soon as I stopped grinding resources the game became much more fun. I finished it in approx 20 hours with decent exploration. Despite numerous bugs I had fun chiefly due to good writing.

Assassin's Creed Origins9

I know its a Ubisoft game but it truly deserves 9/10. The number of small details is astounding. Going through marshes I shot a hippo from afar, he moved towards my area but met crocodiles and a huge 8 v 5 fight of hippos and crocodiles ensued. Later I saw a deer crossing water and when water reached neck level It arched its head upward. This is what happened in just last half hour. I see countless small details everywhere and its really amazing. Normally soldiers get alerted when they see bodies but if you return a good while later you can see them carrying the dead bodies. Tons of ease of use like easy to tag enemies using eagle, boats and camels are fast, easy fast travel and passage of time at will, impressive variety of weapons and playstyles e.g. Predator bows are radically different to multi wield bows etc. As for performance, I am playing it on a 2nd gen i-3 with a Nvidia 1060 6 GB its pretty smooth except in huge castles with 40 plus guards on patrol. All in all, an excellent game.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt10

A game so utterly great that you will feel sadness and emptiness for a while when you finish it. You know, the same feeling you get when you finish great TV shows like Breaking Bad or GoT knowing that nothing else that you will watch/play now will come even close. Masterpiece 100/100.

Octogeddon2

Got it as it was made by the creator of Plants Vs Zombies. The game however, is nowhere near the PvZ or even most of the indie releases we see nowadays. It is based on mobile games idea of play, collect gems (shells here), die, spend shells for upgrades, play farther, die again, spend gems..... over and over. Gets incredibly boring extremely fast. Not recommended at all.

Starcraft Remastered2
Aug 28, 2017
Nostalgia for the sake of it. Blizzard has not improved upon the game as many of the remasters have done recently. Still the rally, queue. selection, controlling annoyance of two decades past are there. What is the point of this for a strategy game player of 2017? Only meant for esports event in South Korea. Pointless for rest of the world and players.

I respect the nostalgia that some players feel but looking beyond that the game is very repetitive after 10 minutes. Text changes but combat is very unimaginative and there is little to nothing you can do to change outcome. Perks are nice and hilarious as are the stat description but they wear out very soon and the game becomes a slugfest. Also, dialogue while funny at most occasions is extremely drawn out and you will be forced to skip parts of it unless you want to read similar jokes over and over again. All in all, a fine nostalgia game which utterly lacks depth in combat mechanics (the real game part) with little to no practical options to change outcome. 6/10 for lacking depth and proper combat.

Agents of Mayhem4

The characters lacks character and the combat is mediocre. The gun you shot has no punch and enemies feel like ragdolls of 90s. The bullet hits them but it always lacks the thump, the impact, the audio-visual-physical confirmation. Its more like what I felt shooting in GTA-3 15 years ago, rather than what i feel playing any game in 2017. Weapons can't be changed. Read it again, a saints row like game where you can't change weapon. The fun part of saints row for me was to try a dozen type of weapons and do insane stuff in the city but they have brought down the level of freedom in the game. There are side missions and upgrades, sure. But to me the whole game felt hollow.

Watch Dogs 210
Feb 22, 2017
Disclaimer : I hated Watch_Dogs 1 Pros : Very good character development Great Graphics Fun gameplay and hacks really are intuitive this time Drones! Batman like Tech view makes things so much easier to track No research point or other goody are too difficult to reach and are neatly labelled in map. Great Controls. I am using all my hotkeys. Very well designed controls. Great Music and sound. Hack city, hack cars on street, send cops or mob after any target... list goes on and on. Cons: Crashes sometimes. Not properly optimized. Explosive devices are too powerful and infinite. Once you get 5 explosive (refilling infinitely) and ability to drop them by drones you have basically won the game. Really great game with a great campaign. Go for it.

60 Seconds!3

Its a one trick pony that gets stale in minutes. Your objective is to collect supplies and family in 60 seconds and then survive. Thats it. There are some survival choice but it gets repetitive extremely fast. It is a short review because there is very little to talk about. Got bored in 20 minutes and never gonna look back at it.

Telltale games are you taking notes? You really really should. This is how you tell a tale and time manipulation mechanics are just awesome. Its a game that we will talk about 10 years later admiringly referring to as a 'Classic'. Definitely 10/10.

One of the rare strategy gems with nice sense of humour. The little touches in everything make it a very fun experience. The AI is pretty nice and though they could have made it more unpredictable it works fine. The base mechanism is not overly convoluted. Its all about predicting what your opponents willl do. However and this makes it so intriguing is the fact that it is an RTS but the buildings need claims to build so its not all about speed but deep thinking. 10/10.

Darkest Dungeon3
Jan 30, 2016
Read the cons to understand why I gave it 3. Difficulty and Grinding are two different things. Pros - 1- Good atmosphere 2- Good artwork 3- Some very nice ideas (like Heroes stress) Cons - 1- Far too reliant on random numbers. Its like throwing dice every turn. 2- The stress system is poorly implemented. Let me explain : a) It takes 100 stress for your hero to become afflicted with a psychosis b) There are around 7-15 battles in every dungeon c) Every battle will involve around 5-20 turns between heroes and enemies which mean enemy can attack 35 to 300 times in a single dungeon run. d) Now consider the fact that because of random numbers a enemy critical attack can deal 20-40 stress in a single attack easily. in short your team will get stress and psychosis no matter what you do and it depends entirely on random numbers. 3- There is no such thing as progression in this game. High level heroes wont do low level dungeons so its always same stuff over and over again. 4- The titular 'Darkest dungeon' is a level 5 dungeon requiring you to spend dozens of hours of grinding and grinding and.... only to find out that you have to beat it 3 times and the team you used can never be used again to raid 'Darkest dungeon' so basically you have to grind again and again and.... Its a total grindfest with random numbers and arbitrary level restrictions. Difficulty and Grinding are two entirely different things but many fail to understand that basic fact.

Assassin's Creed Chronicles: India10
Jan 26, 2016
I vividly remember the first time I played Assassin's Creed and I loved the mechanics of stealth and platforming. About AC:Chronicles India I can say that its a nice fork of Assassin's Creed series. It focuses purely on stealth and platforming. The reason I gave it 10 is I just loved the fluidity. Yes, there are some really great games in market who cater to same gener but why I loved it was quite simply : Polish. A refined experience in a beautiful setting. Recommended.
