The Order: 1886

Make no mistake about it; The Order 1886 is THE benchmark for future games to come - if you're talking about visuals and storytelling. Graphics are amazing. The environmental details are stunning. The frame rates are smooth. The motion captures and facial animations are on par with The Last of Us' HD version. Too bad that you're stuck to a narrow FOV even if the camera can be rotated. It just ended up feeling 'restricted' and gives the game an 'on-rails' shooter feel for most of the game. The storytelling is indeed cinematic. The way it builds up (although predictable) really makes you feel all MGS-ey. Unfortunately, they took too much from MGS and it shows in the amount of cutscenes. Weapon designs are fresh. The steampunk versions of your everyday shooter gives a punch and that makes firefights and battles all that interesting. Plus, there ARE exploding limbs and heads so that Arc Gun makes it worth while. I think the reasons why I gave this a 5 is pretty obvious now. It's TOO DAMN SHORT. For a full priced game, and no MP mode, even slowing down to eat up the scenery still doesn't make this game worth replaying. The story builds up so good, and the anti climatic ending (while an awesome way to build hype for a sequel) makes me feel cheated. Cliffhangers are **** the sequel is coming out within the same year. So yes, they managed to deliver a beautiful, gorgeous game, but at the end of the day, I want a game I could play over and over (like The Last of Us, or inFamous SS) until the next one comes out. The Order 1886 seriously feels like an extended TECH DEMO. It gives you the illusion of choice, but it's just "do this, watch cutscene, shoot guns, watch cutscene, QTE, cutscene, QTE again, end". I have hope for the next iteration from Ready at Dawn, no doubt about that. However, this one is worth a rental or picking it up as a used item.

I don't understand the hate for this game. It may not look as good as the FarCry series, but at least DL's open world is not littered with boring empty lands. Every place you run or climb doesn't feel repetitive, despite its similarly themed design (rusty shacks, zinc tops, etc.). The quests are pretty standard for a game in this genre (run, fetch, deliver) and some of the side quests are annoying (to save Nick Pesto you have to follow him to get his lady magazine and his skull ring? LOL) but that's where it doesn't get repetitive. The mechanics are very easy to grasp, kinda like Mirror's Edge. The combat can be challenging and the enemy AI is pretty efficient; zombies and humans alike. The unique selling point of this game; day and light cycles where super zombies come out to prey at night, isn't just a gimmick. You can skip the night, ONLY if you have access to a safe house when night comes. Sometimes though, you get so engrossed with the quests, that you mentally ignore the Tower's reminders on the comms and only start to panic when your watch beeps, indicating that it's time to haul ass. If you find yourself far away from any safe house, then well, Good **** Good Luck. Coop mode heightens the thrills and suspense, and ****'s just plain fun to bash zombies with friends! Glad I chose this over Far Cry 4.

A slightly better game than WWE '12, in terms of the plethora of stuff to do. All the custom creators are untouched, WWE Universe is untouched. Which is a good thing. WWE '13 will definitely be a hit with wrestling fans of the 90's Attitude Era; the whole story mode is now a 'play as you relive/learn history' mode set in said Era. Animations have improved slightly, there's more fluidity in the connecting/reversal moves; albeit still some glitches at the ropes and with foreign objects. Overall, WWE '13's value is solely on nostalgia which is something worthwhile for people like myself, who slugged for hours on WWF Attitude for the PS One.

Firstly, they didn't do a **** cash-in but went for an original story arc instead (events after the movie). Not really spoileriffic, but there are some nuggets here and there. Making the villains all 'cross-species' is kind of a cool twist, most probably in line with the theme of TASM the movie. Thankfully because of this we don't get a guy in a rhino suit being a villain 'just because'. Gameplay wise, I would call this game "Arkham City Lite". From the start (especially the indoor stealth levels and those 'photo' mini-games) you have a sense of de ja vu until it hits you smack in the head; they took a lot of notes from Arkham City. They even referenced to 'bat-men' in one of the earlier cutscenes, which was a cheeky and funny move. Of course, what's a Spider-man game without the swinging? I'm glad that Beenox made swinging through Manhattan an awesome experience - the new animations, the fluid one-button swinging mechanic, and some 'mini-boss' sandbox encounters which require you to engage in combat WHILE swinging is just FUN and you look cool doing it. It does get repetitive, but the experience is never boring. Overall, TASM is a FUN game. Camera glitches aside, you should pick this up if you're a hardcore fan of Beenox and Spidey games.

Let me get something out of the way first; for those who're expecting another zombie action game a la Resident Evil or Left 4 Dead, save yourself the trouble, don't be an ass and just don't expect "The Walking Dead" to be like those games. Cos it's NOTHING like that. It's just something DIFFERENT and sometimes I think we just need a little difference. It's engaging from start to finish, your (mostly timed) choices will affect how other characters approach you, what they will say to you, and whether they will trust you. Cos honestly buddy, you're stuck in a **** of a zombie apocalypse and friends are just who you need. For those who have played Telltales' Back To The Future, it has the same mechanics but very polished this time. Combining 'move and click' style gameplay, added with dramatic set pieces and camera angles, TTG managed to tell the story with all guts and glory. Yes there are few QTE segments, but it's done right as it doesn't feel out of place. Mashing the button hasn't felt 'right' for some time now. Each of your choices determine how the story goes, and it's not a gimmick. It actually feels smooth and not at all scripted. That dynamic (which also affects the "Next on Walking Dead" preview cutscene at the end of the game) is the recipe of making you not putting the controller down. Timing it at 1-2 hours of gameplay, it's short, sweet, and is making me crave for the next 4 episodes. Kudos TTG! Can't wait for the next episode! P.S: Those who don't like story oriented games, can go continue playing L4D or RE and whine somewhere else.
