A Horror Cocktail of Spectral Spookiness and Inconsistency! Cheers? Nails is like a horror cocktail mixed with a twist of spectral spookiness and a shot of inconsistency. Picture this: an "Angel of Death" ghost prowling around a Rehabilitation Centre, still busy with the killing business post-mortem. Sounds chilling, right? Well, it has its moments, some of which might leave you with goosebumps, while others make you scratch your head in ****'s start with the positives, shall we? The premise is intriguing. An "Angel of Death" ghost lurking in a Rehabilitation Centre adds a sinister twist to the care-giving setting. The varied characters are like a mixed bag of nuts - some crunchy, some bland, but enough to keep you munching through the plot. And their portrayers, especially Ross Noble as the orderly, shine brighter than a full moon on a foggy night. The cast maintains their ground, ensuring you're not left rolling your eyes when things bump in the dark. And that ending is a delightful cherry on top, leaving you simultaneously satisfied and **** oh, the hiccups! The film stumbles right out of the gate, the beginning feeling like a wobbly sprinter unsure of which lane to sprint down. You might try to figure out why it's not all clicking together like a well-oiled scare machine. And speaking of missteps, there are the plot holes the director left open for ghosts to sneak in unnoticed. Take, for instance, the unfortunate demise of the orderly. By this time, we've established the ghostly rules - ghosts share their shyness of cameras with vampires. But apparently, someone missed the memo, abandoning us in a haunted maze of contradictions when the spook shows up on the webcam but not in the ****'s talk about realism or the lack thereof. The hubby's reactions to his injured wife are as believable as a unicorn wearing a top hat. It's like trying to fit a square peg into a round hole - It might work if you whack it hard enough with a sledgehammer, but effectively leaves you wondering what went **** director's prowess in increasing tension is commendable. Incorporating the security camera footage was genius and added an extra layer. So, Nails might be the ideal creepy companion for a pleasant night in, snuggled up on the couch with someone you won't mind clutching onto when things get a bit too eerie. But have your ghostly rulebook handy because this movie might relax a few established rules to keep you on your toes.

Nostalgic, Explosive Metal Mayhem - Timeless Action Thrills! In a world where sequels multiply more rapidly than tribbles, "Terminator: Dark Fate" waltzes onto the scene - Presumably aiming to breathe new life into a successful franchise that's been sorely put through the cinematic wringer more times than we can count. Much like that stubborn family reunion crasher, the sentient robots are at it again - not content with their previous failed attempts at world **** film ventures into the near future, where AI's running amok is the new norm. While the unique AI angle instantly feels like a tantalizing possibility, the writers explore it deeply as a shallow puddle after a rain shower. However, though it sorely lacks in adequately exploring intriguing possibilities, it delivers a CGI spectacle that would cause most sceptical viewers to raise an impressed eyebrow. The action sequences are the undoubted stars of this show. They'll leave you clutching your armrest and wondering if your popcorn will miraculously survive the on-screen ****, let's talk about the emotional return of Sarah Connor and the OG Terminator. It's like a high school reunion - sure, they've aged, but they've still got that brilliant spark. Linda Hamilton and Arnie invariably manage to inject nostalgic adrenaline into the heady mix. Instantly making you feel you're back in the '80s and sporting questionable fashion **** iconic villain, V9, is a robot struggling vainly to find its bad-boy swagger. It's like an edgy teenager attempting to rebel but ending up with a vaguely menacing pout. Yet, credit where it's due; the apparent attempt to recreate the T2 vibe with a liquid-metal exterior is a valiant **** fear not, fellow moviegoers, this isn't just another crash-and-burn sequel. The direction is slicker than a buttered eel, with CGI so convincing that you'll only question reality a handful of times. The lively tempo of the extraordinary action is like a symphony of controlled chaos. If it doesn't glue your eyes to the screen, I suggest visiting your doctor - You might want them to check for a **** a nutshell, "T6: Dark Fate" is a joyride down memory lane with a turbocharged engine. They're not reinventing the wheel, but how they spin it is extraordinarily entertaining. If you have a soft spot for the originals or merely want to witness marvellous mechanical automatons duking it out in spectacular fashion, this one's worth a peek. So buckle up, embrace the nostalgia and prepare for a rollercoaster of metal and mayhem.

A Shockingly Mediocre Thrill Ride with Electrifying Blunders! Ah, 'Alone at Night,' the film that promised a thrilling journey into the world of intelligent slasher cinema but left me questioning the characters and wondering if they penned the script during a **** begin with, let's address the elephant in the room - the script. I haven't seen a narrative this cringe-worthy since accidentally stumbling upon a high school play. The damsel in distress complaining about the lack of internet while being online every day is a plot twist even M. Night Shyamalan wouldn't dare attempt. It's as if the writers attended a crash course in irony and failed ****, let's talk about the electrocution scene, a masterpiece in unintentional comedy. I haven't laughed that hard since my grandma tried to use a touchscreen phone for the first time. The prolonged shock-fest should've been intense, terrifying, and exciting but resembled a botched attempt at electrifying the audience with awkward **** direction had its shining moments, like a diamond in the rough, but it desperately needed smoothing out. I appreciated the lighting and the above mediocre composition, yet it suffered from a single **** for the performers, they almost saved the day. Alas, overacting and weak character construction proved to be their kryptonite. The bad guy, in particular, felt like a rejected Bond villain auditioning for a community theatre production. I half-expected him to break into a monologue about world domination while sipping a martini.'Alone at Night' is a modern sexploitation film that tries to rise above mediocrity and, in some aspects, succeeds. The cinematography is commendable, and the presentation is solid, like a B-list actor giving their all in a C-list movie. It's a one-time watch, an experience that will make you raise an eyebrow and ponder the choices that steered you to this cinematic crossroads. Return for a second viewing? I'd sooner elect a turkey for the presidency.

Shortcut: The Road Less Traveled, and for Good Reason Ah, "Shortcut," the cinematic masterpiece that makes you question your life choices and the entire concept of movie-making itself. The film proudly declares, 'Who needs a coherent plot when we can throw in a psycho-killer for no apparent reason?' The storyline is so basic your GPS would yawn sleepily. A lovely bunch of typical teens, each a living, breathing stereotype, embark on what is incorrectly labelled a "Shortcut." They encounter a dead sheep because nothing invariably screams abject horror like woolly cadavers. Enter the tongue-eating psycho-killer. Why? Well, that's a question the movie doesn't bother answering. Because who needs a motive when you have a murderous maniac around? Though the characters tick all the hackneyed teen stereotype boxes, they get along like a perfect family at a Utopian Thanksgiving dinner. Apparently, bullying has gone extinct in this parallel universe. Come on! Who knew a fat kid, a brainy lass with glasses, and a bad boy could coexist without a single eye roll or sarcastic comment? The writers must have raided a high school yearbook for inspiration but forgot to add any semblance of real human interaction. And let's talk sensibly about the abandoned WWII bunker in the middle of nowhere, still miraculously powered. What are the odds? I'd say it's about as likely as finding a gripping plot twist in this movie. Strangely, "Shortcut" manages to redeem itself, thanks to the director's skilful handling of the sinking ship that is the script. The hectic pace keeps you on your toes if only to distract from the unfortunate fact that the tragic characters are as believable as a unicorn in a tutu. The performances are as average as your everyday breakfast cereal. Blame it on the dialogue and characterization, not the actors. They did their best. It's a shame the writer didn't give them much to work with. Ultimately, "Shortcut" is a guilty pleasure. Turn off your brain, blithely ignore the stereotypes, and brace yourself for the predictable bolt-on ending. Luckily for the viewers, boredom isn't on the table.

A Pandemic-Style Thriller More Tedious Than Terrifying. "Right At Your Door" is a sci-fi chiller that attempts to transform a "Dirty Bomb" attack on an American city into a tension-filled thriller. Unfortunately, what we get is more of a tedious exploration of the annoying quirks of human behaviour, showcased through the husband and wife duo. The writers seem to mistake incessant arguing for character development. Though their bickering may hit close to reality, it quickly becomes an unbearable symphony of selfishness that does little to propel the story forward. If anything, it only makes the audience prey for the wife's speedy disappearance. Sadly, her continuing presence is necessary for the film's twist, which, to its credit, is the script's saving grace. The movie's tempo manages to draw eyes back to the screen periodically. Lamentably, the shaky camera technique, reminiscent of the Blair Witch era, feels more like an odeous distraction than a stylistic choice. The direction, while competent, lacks the innovation needed to elevate "Right At Your Door" above its pitfalls, offering a mere handful of outstanding shots. The performances are lacklustre, with portrayals that barely rise above mediocrity. The only saving grace is the neighbour who sneaks into the house, a persona with potential depth that the film never bothers to explore. This lack of connection with all the characters becomes a glaring issue when the twist finally arrives: A twist that should leave the audience shocked and emotive falls flat due to the poor writing and the film's failure to make us care about the individuals involved. While the movie possesses a few commendable scenes, they are too sparse to justify sitting through this forgettable movie. Unless you're an Olympic-trained professional in the creative art of shouting arguments, "Right At Your Door" might not be the pandemic-themed thriller worth your precious time. Consider exploring other films in the genre, keeping in mind that some might be worse than this semi-stinker; therefore, I recommend choosing your cinematic contagion carefully.

Holy Thrills, Unholy Chills, and a Divine Child. "Bless The Child," a 2000 millennium religious-based horror flick, is like a Sunday sermon with a devilish twist. The film doesn't reach the divine heights of "The Omen," but it's a serviceable entry in the genre, like a less-then-holy communion wine. This time, there's no Antichrist making his grand entrance, but rather, a child handpicked by the big guy upstairs to bring the flock back into his fold. Of course, Satan's not one to sit idly by, so he dispatches one of his minions to find the child and put an end to this holy disruption. The concept is intriguing, but it's as though the filmmakers threw a handful of twists at the wall to see what stuck. Some tighter structuring and fleshing out of the supernatural elements would've made this a heavenly horror experience. The cast does their best with what they're given, with robust performances abound. Rufus Sewell's Eric Stark needed to be slightly more ominous and sinister. Moreover, Kim Basinger's Maggie O'Conner could've used a bit more physical and emotional presence in her battle with the forces of darkness. The direction and pacing are commendable, with some visually captivating shots that add a layer of intrigue. The special effects, considering the time, hold up well. The CGI rats may look like they've had a bad fur day, but those red eyes are positively chilling. One of the best FX is the smoky flying demons, fluttering ominously around and driving the dark apostles to commit vicious and atrocious crimes. And let's not forget the impressive spectacle of Satan's grand entrance, assembled from millions of red-eyed rodents. In conclusion, "Bless The Child" is a delightful slice of hocus pocus that won't make you repent for watching it. It's an excellent choice for a cosy evening in the dark, snuggled up with your love and a steaming coffee. So, frantically grab your holy water and popcorn, and let the religious rollercoaster take you for a unique spin.

Nandor Fodor & The Talking Mongoose: A Sleep-Inducing Pointless-Enigma Unveiled! "Nandor Fodor & The Talking Mongoose," the 2023 true-story movie that's so baffling that it naturally causes you to wonder why you're watching it. This notable film (for all the wrong reasons) is a head-scratcher of cosmic proportions that has you yearning for answers but merely delivers perplexity and a dull migraine. Our incredible story? A learned doctor's quixotic quest to expose a talking mongoose is akin to an unfortunate expedition into the Bermuda Triangle of modern cinema, where believability and excitement vanish. As the end credits roll, you're reluctantly pondering the precise meaning of life. You can't help but genuinely feel you've squandered precious hours of your existence. Now, the clunky dialogue is as though the writers raided the library's most obscure thesaurus, picked out random influential words and flung them into the script like a culinary experiment gone wrong. The characters' dialogue is so laughably pretentious it inevitably feels like watching a miserable cat try to philosophize about quantum physics. And let's not forget the dullness factor, which is as exhilarating as watching paint dry and not even particularly philosophical paint! On the bright side, the creative direction is superb, with great visuals, captivating lighting, and brilliant camera angles. The eye candy's like serving a gourmet meal on a paper plate-it looks tremendous but has nothing substantial beneath. And the slow tempo undoubtedly adds to the boredom, transforming your viewing experience into a slow-motion descent into the desolate land of tedium. Now, the cast. You'd naively think with such an eclectic mix of considerable talent, the movie would undoubtedly gain a fighting chance. Wrong. The distinctive accents are like shifting sands in a dreary desert, which only a few can navigate convincingly. The rest? They're like performers engaging in a bizarre game of international hopscotch, and it's more confusing than a labyrinth. In unavoidable conclusion, "Nandor Fodor & The Talking Mongoose" is a riddle wrapped in an eternal enigma, with a side helping of existential crisis. I strongly advise you to avoid this cinematic quagmire like the bubonic plague. Instead, check your DVD collection or favourite streaming service for something less bombastically prosaic. You won't get back the precious time invested in this enigmatic mess, but you might undoubtedly find something more rewarding elsewhere.

A Short Story Cocktail That Hits the Mark. Anthology films are like a box of chocolates; you never quite know what you're gonna get. "Locker 13" from 2014 is no exception to this cinematic roulette, but it's a box of chocolates you'd be thrilled to dive into. The movie serves up a mixture of stories as diverse as a Tinder date menu - some are great, some are decent, and a couple are about as obscure as Bigfoot's shoe size. But it's the first and last stories that steal the spotlight. If this were a talent show, they'd walk away with the golden buzzer. The direction in this film is as sharp as a tailor's needle, and I have to give props to the director of the boxing story - it's like watching a boxing match with your eyes closed and oddly thrilling! The final tale, confined to a single room, keeps you glued to the screen with its captivating storytelling and a twist ending as predictable as your grandma's meatloaf recipe. But what genuinely surprised me is the stellar cast - I mean, who knew Ricky Schroder was still in the game? He shines as the boxing killer, proving he's not a Silver Spoon anymore. All the performers bring their A-game, and it's like watching a relay race where the baton of talent is passed with precision. Now, I never sugarcoat shortcomings; there's one story that's a bit of a snoozer, but hey, even the best roller coasters have a slow part, giving you the perfect opportunity to grab a coffee or answer nature's call. But don't worry, the film picks up right where it left off. In conclusion, "Locker 13" is worth a watch, whether you're in the mood for a movie night on a cold winter evening or merely looking for a fun diversion. It's a well-crafted anthology that's entertaining from start to finish, and you'll crave more incredible stories. So, grab your popcorn, settle down, and heartily enjoy.

Noise in the Middle: Where Pseudoscience Meets Paranormal Parenting Woes. Imagine a world where psychological thrillers collide with experimental mind-altering experiments, the product of which would be "Noise in the Middle", a movie that's like ordering a mystery box and getting a puzzle with missing pieces. The unique story could've been a buffet of robust, fascinating, and thought-provoking ingredients. However, we're merely served a psychological paranormal-ish thriller with all the frills of a salad without the dressing. The direction tries to play hero, adding power to the creative storytelling like a caffeinated narrator on a sacred mission. However, the tempo remains steadfastly a stubborn mule, constantly hindering the cinematic journey instead of propelling it forward. It's like maintaining a sports car with a governor that kicks in whenever things get remotely exciting—cue the eye rolls. But fear not, for the superb cast comes to the rescue like the Avengers of acting. Faye Hostetter, in particular, deserves a standing ovation for her brilliant portrayal of an autistic girl navigating a complex world more terribly confusing than IKEA instructions. The troubled father in this tragic tale is so clueless he ironically makes a stone rock look like Einstein. Bravo, dear sir! I caught myself shouting at the screen, wondering if he attended the "Parenting 101: How Not to Be a Bad Dad" seminar. While "Noise in the Middle" could've been undoubtedly a masterpiece, it gracefully tiptoes away from the burning pit of doom, settling comfortably into the "watch it once, maybe twice if you're feeling adventurous" category. In conclusion, if you're in the mood for a delicious concoction of pseudoscience, paranormal oddities, and parenting mishaps, "Noise in the Middle" might be your tepid cup of questionable tea. The picture's worth a viewing for Faye Hostetter's stellar performance. Don't forget to shout fiercely at the dreadful dad. And brace yourself for an uncomfortable ride that's as bumpy as a road under construction.

This is a prequel to the original movie. The major and her team are for hire to the highest bidder. This is the story of how they enter Section 9. With the disappearance of the Disney element, that was in Innocence, this film is the proper and better sequel. Once again the philosophical issues are woven throughout the story and bring the viewer into the tale as well as make them think. The CGI is lessened, though used to a better advantage. The only reason this doesn't work as well as the original is that it's missing the musicality and artistic direction the first had. If you enjoyed the original then forget Innocence and watch this one. If you haven't watched Ghost In The Shell, then do yourself a favour and watch it.

I really enjoyed this film, though I have to admit I am a Katee Sackhoff fan so that didn't hurt. I am also a **** for a good ghost story, of which there aren't that many. This story actually offers a couple of fresh takes on the sub-genre that I liked. The director even managed to create and sustain tension and suspense, which is always a plus. He also, at least in the first half, did some pretty decent camera segues, adding a soft artistic feel. Shame he didn't do this for the entire film. The only thing that irked me was the double knocks. Okay, the title is Don't Knock TWICE, but really, how many people do you know that only... knock... knock... I don't know anybody. So anybody and everybody in this film only knocks twice, this is more of a Directorial thing as it allows him to mould tensity out of the action... who can be at the door?... But that was the only thing. Worth a watch on Fright Night Friday.

I have no idea why this film was made. It's not very entertaining and the characters are not too relatable or easy to empathise with. It's like a very dark faerie tale but without the morality. The main characters are policemen and love nothing better than abusing their power and tormenting and torturing people. They find a stairway into the bowels of the Earth, where a black mass is being held. There are some really disturbing scenes here and the unevenness of the direction makes them more so. However, it's the lack of story and characterisations that plummet this film into the depths of "Why did I watch this" I would recommend staying away if you like a story to your films.

Granted, mostly everything has been done in horror, though what the writers and director do here is change the location and situation in which the horror occur, and it works. There are a few shortcomings - the slo-mo so the director can visually brag about his CGI; the change in a character from strong to weak stereotypical "Scream Queen" at the flick-of-a-switch; as well as a few other minor inconsistencies. Greatly lacking to the original in all aspects, though it is still a good movie. It might be the Disney influence that motivated the philosophical angle to be driven home near the start of the film by a minor character and not to let the audience work it out and feel it, as was the case in the original movie - which was much better for it. Also the implementation of the digital art, at times, can tend to draw the viewer out of the story, this weakens the effect and the movie. However, it's the direction in the rest of the film which lets it down, drastically. In particular, Nicholas Cage as Blaze. This is much more than a comedy, which the trailer tries to make out it is. The first section of the film is indeed funny, though as the film progresses the humour becomes darker as we take a trip into the human psyche. What Izrael Horovitz gives the audience is a brilliant insight into family and how well do you really know them? He also gives you the moral of, whatever you do in life it has a consequence and it may not be a good one. Even though the film gets a little darker, it does only slip into a bittersweet melancholy and doesn't go so dark that people will turn off and the director does the change so subtly, within the story, you barely notice the change; it's so natural. The segue between the stories is a Dark Fantasy stop-motion animation, which is haunting in itself. The other stories in the anthology just aren't in the same class.

Even though the director does a good job he fails to make this into a good film. However, it'snot his fault, there's just too mush going on... Six very individual characters... A story that's convoluted even before the twists are revealed. For this film to have been good it needed to be longer, loose characters, or take the story back to bare bones.

Once you get through the slow start, the action and suspense ramp up and the director does a good job of keeping the film moving at this pace. The actors do brilliantly at portraying their characters, especially Richard Gere. This was a surprising crime thriller. Worth a viewing.

A slow burning thriller filled with atmosphere and an intense real feel. This is not a glossy Hollywood movie but a well thought out independent film with okay direction and decent acting. Well worth watching once if you like revenge movies.

This is a terrible film that tries too hard to be a cult film. The idea is a good one but there's no suspense or thrills as the writer tells you what's coming. Spoilers in your own movie; not the way to go if you want to keep your audience. The lead role is unbelievable and you actually wish they would just die because he's as annoying as snot-girl in Blair Witch. Don't waste your time or money.

For me, this had a lot going for it; being a child of the '70's / 80's I fondly remember arcades and the amount of money and time I wasted on them. This brought all that back to me. I know that the concept of the film is ludicrous but it is a comedy film and it made me laugh a lot and out loud. So in my eyes, that's good.

Very loosely based on an Edgar Allan Poe short story, this misses so many chances to add suspense, tension, terror; but chooses to be a love story. Good acting and decent direction cannot make up for this... could have been so much better.

The best part of the movie is the opening sequence, which has NOTHING to do with the story or the film; it's just another way to draw you into a crappy film. It could've been a decent movie if it had sped through the transformation and had Septic Man terrorising the township. Though it never gets to that point. The special effects are okay, though. Shame about the rest of it, which is dire, to say the least.

A travesty of a reboot. Bad direction, lazy two-dimensional characters that the actors cannot breathe life into. Save your pennies or better yet but the original '80's movies box set and see how it should have been done.

A ludicrous remake of The Lone Ranger. Though there are some sections that add to the Legend and story - Tonto's origin story - Silver the Spirit Horse that chooses which Ranger to save - and some iconic imagery. Worth watching with the family after Sunday dinner, on a cold wet winter day.

The best Guy Ritchie film, to date. A great adaptation of the original 60's television show, which is stronger, thanks to the slight changes in the characters. Great acting, a fantastic soundtrack that adds to the film in every aspect, brilliant "real" special effects, nicely set in period, and strongly directed. Well worth a watch.

This was a nice surprise. A horror story with a good, well thought out and constructed story, decent acting, and strong credible direction. Though the story has been done before, the twists and the cast of characters give it strength. The special effects are decent and send a shiver down your spine. I would recommend this to all Horror Fans.

More BITE than your average Horror Movie. In the recent wave of dull and boring horror movies which have come out recently this was a delight to watch. You have great direction and a story that has so much bundled up inside it should keep everybody happy. When this came out originally I didn't like it much; though twenty years later, I loved it. There are some nice effects courtesy of Stan Winston. I recommend everybody should give this a try.

Another bad Stephen King adaptation, even worse when you realise Mr King wrote the screenplay. Though it's the direction of the film which makes this dull and boring. It's too short to do the book justice... and the novel wasn't that good. Only Samuel L Jackson and Stacy Keach put any emotion into their characters. Nice idea badly produced.

Steven Seagal is back on form as his dark, moody, and brooding stereotype in this well written and directed action flick with a couple of twists. There's enough action, gunplay, knife fights, martial arts, blood splatter, and body-count to please any fan. Along with a good performance from Craig Sheffer this is a movie worth watching if you like the genre.

This film tries too hard and fails. It gives you characters you cannot relate too, which by the end you're hoping the Babadook has its evil way with them, cause the planet would be a better place without these two characters. Then there's the ending... if the direction of the characters wasn't enough to destroy this film, then the ending should be. I was unsatisfied and disheartened.

This is a great film based on real events surrounding a Serial Killer in Alaska. Nicholas Cage and John Cusack do an admirable job portraying their characters, Alaska State Trooper Jack Halcolmbe and Serial Killer Robert Hanson, respectively. However, it's Vanessa Hudgens portrayal of runaway and prostitute Cindy Poulson, the only survivor of Robert Hanson's killing spree, that steals the show. Well worth a viewing.

What you have here is a good Thriller come Horror movie with strong acting and decent direction. Though the story is a slightly familiar one there are enough changes to give it a fresh feel. There are many films of this ilk so cliches are included, though the way they are handled makes them less discernible. Worth a watch.

How not to run a world after a devastating war. Having not read the books I can;t say how close to the source material they are. But if they are accurate then I don't want to read the books. The original concept of the story is flawed from the start. I cannot see how a population could progress as these have, into five factions (and wear specific colours and live in specific abodes), this is just too much human nature wouldn't be able to do it. And that is the crux of the story and a Catch22 situation. However, the action is good, the direction isn't bad, the acting is average with likes of Ashley Judd, Ray Stephenson, and Kate Winslet giving less than their skills allow.

Once you get over the immaturity of Gena and Katy, which is very annoying to start with and gets worse as the film plays on, until the resolve. Part of the film is their story of maturing into "better" people. For me, Kirsten Dunst and Rebel Wilson hold this film together. The direction could have been tighter and the story could've done with a re-write. But it didn't make me turn off, and I did laugh at a few things, which is good.
