Front Mission 4
9
User ScorePpato1234
May 20, 2026
Simply my favorite strategy game. Front Mission 4 raises the bar for the genre; it promises a deep tactical experience and delivers absolutely everything. The pace starts simply, but the complexity escalates so much that, before you know it, a single normal battle easily consumes 2 hours of your time. To top it all off, the militaristic soundtrack is a delightful experience for the ears.

Armored Core: Nine Breaker
7
User ScorePpato1234
May 17, 2026
Armored Core: Nine Breaker feels less like a full game and more like a glorified expansion. While it offers plenty of references to Nine Ball and brings back classic parts, that’s about all it does. The entire experience is a repetitive loop of training exercises and Arena mode. If you're looking to fine-tune your skills for the competitive scene, it serves as a decent testbed. However, if you're a casual fan looking for a proper story and campaign, save your time and skip straight to Armored Core: Last Raven.

Armored Core: Nexus
10
User ScorePpato1234
May 17, 2026
Simply absolute cinema. Armored Core: Nexus delivers one of the most traumatic and rewarding endings of the PS2 era. The game finally introduced true dual analog control to the franchise, eliminating the headache of moving the camera with the L and R buttons. The third generation could easily have ended here. The Arena mode overhaul is excellent, although it's a huge flaw that progressing in it can unintentionally cancel campaign missions. Disc 2, on the other hand, is an impeccable tribute for those who have followed the series since the PS1. I have a few reservations, but they exist: the English voice acting is absurdly amateurish, and the new firing system makes your weapon stop firing on its own if you hesitate. Furthermore, the attempt to rebalance the parts destroyed classic builds, transforming the use of Over Boost (OB) into something that demands ruthless strategic management. However, if you overlook these problems, the game is a masterpiece.

Mixtape

User ScorePpato1234
May 16, 2026
Everything they say about Mixtape being a 10/10 game is pure lies. Amidst controversies ranging from the use of bots to the clear favoritism shown to "gaming journalists" to inflate scores, what remains is a title that simply shows teenagers doing teenage things. This can't even be called a game; it's at most a 2-hour interactive movie. My rating is 2, it's so bad and overrated. Stay away!

FlatOut 2

User ScorePpato1234
May 16, 2026
FlatOut 2 emerged at a time when the racing market was completely dominated by the Need for Speed craze. The game innovated with its excellent crash physics and progression system. Furthermore, the demolition derbies and Arena events helped a lot to break the monotony and prevent gameplay fatigue. However, it ends up suffering from the same problem as other titles in the genre: it becomes quite repetitive over time, even offering a good variety of cars.

Need for Speed: Underground 2
7
User ScorePpato1234
May 16, 2026
Need for Speed: Underground 2 was the pinnacle of racing games in its time, perfectly capturing the spirit of urban competition and delivering one of the best customization systems in the genre. However, the experience is severely hampered by an AI "slingshot" effect that borders on abusive, as well as bizarre bugs that stall the player's progress. To make matters worse, the end of the game becomes extremely massive and repetitive. It's a rival game like Burnout 3 where we notice a difference: although Underground 2 didn't fall short of the first, it suffers from pacing issues and fails to hold the player's attention for very long.

This game doesn't even look like your average EA game. Burnout 3: Takedown is simply a masterpiece. It features over 60 cars to drive, an absurd variety of tracks and game modes (the Crash mode is unforgettable), and above all, impressive graphics for its time. A pinnacle of arcade racing games.

Silent Line: Armored Core
8
User ScorePpato1234
May 16, 2026
Armored Core: Silent Line is a very welcome evolution of Armored Core 3. The game takes the foundation of its predecessor, improves the mechanics, and brings a much greater variety of parts. However, it doesn't get a perfect 10 due to the English voice acting, especially Emma's. If you don't play with the Japanese audio, the constant feeling is that the voice acting was done by amateurs, falling far short of the quality standard we associate with FromSoftware. Even considering the limitations of the time (2003), there were already games with drastically superior voice acting, such as God of War.

Armored Core: Verdict Day
8
User ScorePpato1234
May 12, 2026
Armored Core: Verdict Day serves as FromSoftware's ultimate apology. The game refines everything that was confusing in its predecessor, delivering a much more engaging plot and revelations that expand the universe in an epic way. With an absurd catalog of over 581 parts, the customization reaches a level of depth that few games on the market can replicate. If you like mechs, this is the title that deserves your attention.

Transformers: Earth Wars consumes two things: your patience and your wallet. If you don't constantly shell out generous amounts, you'll never get new bots to evolve. Meanwhile, anyone who spends the equivalent of a minimum wage a day will overwhelm your base using a single character. It's a game where the credit card is stronger than any strategy.

Armored Core V
5
User ScorePpato1234
May 11, 2026
Armored Core V is the franchise's big "why?". After the peak of speed in the fourth generation, this title attempts innovation but delivers a noisy regression. The scale has been drastically reduced; the ACs now seem too small, losing their former imposing presence. Progression is almost nonexistent due to a very short campaign, where the focus has shifted from piloting to a "walking puzzle." The need to exhaustively adapt the mecha for each mission makes the gameplay slow and bureaucratic. To top it off, the narrative based on "Signs" is confusing and abstract, failing to engage the player. Without an Arena mode to salvage the experience, the game feels like an experimental piece that doesn't fit on the board.

Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon
8
User ScorePpato1234
May 11, 2026
Armored Core VI fulfills its role of resurrecting the franchise, but the experience often feels like a "Mecha Dark Souls". The game is a sequence of epic boss battles, worthy of journey endings, but it seriously falters in one aspect: the Stagger system. The saving of precious seconds lost due to overload is a divisive mechanic that, being so punishing, becomes frustrating. Customization also suffers from a binary logic; weapons seem limited to "Light or Heavy", lacking the middle ground or the granularity of linear and assault rifles from past eras. However, the True Ending is an emotional masterpiece that will make you cry and makes every challenge worthwhile.

Armored Core: For Answer
10
User ScorePpato1234
May 11, 2026
By far, Armored Core: For Answer is the peak of the franchise. It’s fast-paced, explosive and incredibly creative, taking everything that was frustrating in AC4 and turning it into pure adrenaline. The introduction of the colossal Arms Forts is a game-changer, fighting these giant, multi-phase mobile fortresses delivers some of the most epic and memorable battles in the entire series. The game finally respects your time: you no longer need to grind Hard Mode just to see the full story, and earning S-ranks no longer feels like it requires a PhD in optimization. Part variety is massive and, best of all, actually viable. I completed my first playthrough using the stock 03-Aaliyah without a single modification and still felt powerful, a huge improvement in balance compared to its predecessor. With multiple branching paths and several distinct endings that encourage at least five playthroughs, the replay value is outstanding. Armored Core: For Answer is everything I wanted AC4 to be.

Armored Core 4
7
User ScorePpato1234
May 11, 2026
While Armored Core 4 attempts to modernize the franchise, it delivers a polarizing experience that often feels like a mechanical headache. The accessibility barrier remains punishing for newcomers, while veterans may find the new physics engine creates more friction than flow. The mission design suffers from excessive linearity and repetitive enemy waves, sacrificing the tactical depth seen in previous generations. Hard Mode is particularly disappointing: rather than introducing smarter AI or environmental hazards, it simply adds extra AC bosses and high damage. This turns the challenge into a tedious task of pure optimization and pixel-perfect precision. Furthermore, the energy economy feels unbalanced; lightweight builds are disproportionately punished by the high costs of Overed Boost and Quick Boost. While the narrative conclusion is impactful, locking the full experience behind such a frustrating progression loop is a questionable choice that severely hampers the game's flow.

User ScorePpato1234
May 10, 2026
The game is a masterpiece of the Armored Core series. It's great to see parts from AC3 still echoing in AC6. The gameplay is fluid, supported by an interesting world-building and vast customization options. However, it faces the hurdle that plagues all early AC titles: the controls. Managing the camera with shoulder buttons (L/R) instead of a modern twin-stick setup is quite a task, yet it offers a unique challenge that rewards mastery. It’s a perfect starting point for newcomers to the "old school" era. You will constantly feel like you are playing a high-fidelity "remaster" of the PS1 classics, don’t worry, that’s exactly what makes it special.
