Worst Comabt System in any FF Game ever. Fk that Draw System! Not even the Story is good ( okay Laguna Part is solid, but except that everything ****). Best Part is the Music, but almost every FF Game has good music.

FF 4 for PSP aged pretty well. The graphics are good, Story was fine, combat was okay and great music.

The first half of the game (Disc 1 and half of Disc 2) was much better for me. It had a strong start with good characters, charm, and humor. But after a while, the story becomes pretty banal and clichéd (though, to be fair, the game is from 2000, so what can you expect). The gameplay also feels like a step back compared to Final Fantasy VII. The animations are too slow, and the battles are too easy and generic. I only played it because people say it’s the best Final Fantasy game. For me, it’s definitely not. It’s a solid Final Fantasy game, but it doesn’t measure up to 6, 7 and 10.

It’s a solid game and fun to play, but in my opinion there’s too much RNG involved. I watched tier lists and speedruns just to confirm this: some cards are completely worthless, and no matter what deck you have, you would never use them. Sometimes you have to abandon runs because you only get bad cards. In my opinion, the game only works if you can consciously exploit it and build an overpowered deck. The gap between a bad deck and a good one is just too big. That said, it’s still quite satisfying when you manage to complete a run, even with an average deck.

I believe this is one of the most overrated games I’ve ever played. While the story is decent, and I can see why people love it, the combat and controls make the game nearly unplayable. Here are my reasons why this game, even for 2009, is NOT good: Ezio’s Wall-Hugging Obsession: Ezio seems to have an uncontrollable urge to hug walls constantly. You have to get him to hug the wall first before you can jump. If you mess up, he ends up jumping 200 meters away from the wall, often causing you to fail a mission and have to restart. Running with R2 on PS4/5: Having to hold down R2 to run gets really annoying over time. It’s uncomfortable, and after a while, your finger starts to hurt. Frustrating Parkour: The parkour system is incredibly frustrating. It’s supposed to be fluid and fun, but instead, it’s clunky and often leads to mistakes that aren’t your fault. Boring and Annoying Combat: The combat is repetitive and lacks variety. It’s mostly about blocking and then attacking. You can hire mercenaries to help, but it just ends up being a matter of letting them distract the enemies so you can stab them from behind. Most weapons are useless, so there’s no incentive to try different ones. It’s often easier to just let the soldiers kill you, as you’ll respawn at a more convenient location anyway.
