Texas Killing Fields7
Mar 28, 2020
Honestly, peoples and critics who actually really disliked this film (ranked from 0 to 3 or 0 to 30 from critics) are at my eyes just a bunch of redneck hillbillies nationalist scu*bag and simply feels offended so see how much their "Texas chainsaw massacre community" are portrayed from a normal human point of view. Not a perfect movie for sure, but very effective, really intense and sensitive, despite some technical issues, all the cast and crew have done a beautiful job here! Two thumbs up!

Black Christmas1
Mar 15, 2020
This remake is one of the worst reboot in cinema history. The 2006 version is an instant classic regarding of this crap even if at the time it was really awful. I can't believe this came from producer Jason Blum from the last Halloween movie and some other really good horror flicks. Stay away from this useless piece of s*it and get a copy of the original 1974 movie instead (or even the 2006 remake).

Midsommar7
Oct 10, 2019
2000 Maniacs meets The Wicker Man. Very well done and directed even if the story and events are really predictable and some passages are relatively boring. Overall a enjoyable experience and deserves to be seen.

Night Hunter5
Sep 23, 2019
Night Hunter is your typical late night thriller. Everything as been done before and well better, the screenplay just looks like a direct to video from the late '90 but at least the direction was relatively decent. The acting was also more than correct, Brendan Fletcher is really fine and both Henry Calvil and Ben Kingsley was also very decent. Overall a nice turn-off-your-brain movie.

Annabelle Comes Home3
Sep 23, 2019
After the correct prequel Annabelle Creation, this third chapter is just boring as hell. Near to nothing happens during the first hour and the last 30min was just cliché as possible. Acting was lame, direction was lazy, the original score is just awful as the film, well everything is unlikable. Just another poor sequel in the so called Conjuring franchise.

Look Away6
Sep 23, 2019
Look Away is an accomplishment in a directorial way. This is really very well directed and the cinematography is exemplary. The lead role is absolutely amazing and the rest of the cast feet perfectly to the film. The original score is really superb and have a real emotional impact on the scenes. The dark point of Look Away cames from the story, unfortunately the plot isn't as great as the technical aspect. Looks like a kind of strange variation on Stephen King's The Dark Half with a more schizophrenic part. If you're looking for a great screenplay you'll probably be disappointed but if you're looking for a well directed film it really deserves it.
Sep 22, 2019
Iron Man6
Sep 22, 2019
Not really good, but not really bad, this is overall a good introduction in the Marvel cinematic universe. Jeff Bridge was just amazing as always but honestly I didn't agree with the cast of Robert Downey Jr, instead I would love to see Nicolas Cage as he was one of the first involved to play Iron Man, also the original score composer is really not well chosen, Ramin Djawadi is probably fine for a TV show but not for a blockbuster film, at least he never appeared again in any MCU movies. Otherwise it was a correct film.
Sep 22, 2019
The Girl with All the Gifts4
Sep 22, 2019
The Girl with All the Gifts is a pretentious post apocalyptic flick, that try hard to bring it up into an author film but just mess as it was a poor budgeted foreign zombie film. The acting was good and the original score very effective, but otherwise nothing was really well done. Story is boring, directing is just lame and the makeup effects aren't good enough to keep the viewer entertained. The slow pacing and the lack of innovation and zombies sequences are what you just have to deal with. And as stated by another user, this is just a kind of Last of Us rip-off.
Sep 21, 2019
Braven5
Sep 21, 2019
Looks like a poor Cliffhanger rip-off at first, but finally was packed with a more serious tone and solid acting skills. Not really well directed, with a blank cinematography and an original score you didn't even notice but surprisingly better than expected.
Sep 21, 2019
Child's Play5
Sep 21, 2019
The Child's Play remake isn't as bad as I've thought. Brad Dourif is heavily missed as Chucky, even if Mark Hamill was a nice replacement choice but most of the other aspects of the film was correct. Chucky's swearing isn't enough constant sadly and the film isn't scary at all, but some gory scenes well worth the watch. It was in no way frightening as the original Child's Play and was by far less funny than Bride of Chucky but at least it was better than Chucky 2, 3, 5, 6 and 7. So it's overall a correct experience.
Sep 19, 2019
The Fate of the Furious4
Sep 19, 2019
The Fate of the Furious is even more ridiculous than the awful Furious 7 but despite this fact it was less bad on near to every aspect. It was still lame and stupid but was packed more accurately to something enjoyable. So that's not the worst entry in the franchise.
Sep 19, 2019
Furious 73
Sep 19, 2019
Furious 7 is one of the dumbest entry in the franchise. After a correct Fast Five the follow-ups have declined to a poorest level that reach the bottom of the barrel. This is still better than part one, but even 2 Fast 2 Furious was better than this stupid crap. There's always unbelievable and ridiculous situation and sequences in every Fast and Furious movies but never poorly done as this point. I laugh so hard at the moronic positive reviews actually.
Sep 18, 2019
Fast & Furious 64
Sep 18, 2019
Furious 6 is a better entry than part 1, 2 and 4, but was less enjoyable than Tokyo Drift and part 5. There's really too much of nonsense action sequence all around instead of Fast Five. The movie loosely tries to recycle what was successful in the last one but in a poor and uneffective way. There's still some fun sequences but packed with too much ridiculous nonsense action scenes.
Sep 18, 2019
Fast Five6
Sep 18, 2019
Fast Five is definitely the best of all the five first films of the franchise. This is mainstream cinema but enough entertaining to do not care about the stupid parts or the average story. The cast reunited from part 1 to 4 is well suited for the audience and the new character as Dwayne Johnson is giving a fresh air on the movie. That's still a summer blockbuster with no brain but it works well anyway. I was near the enjoy it, Fast and the Furious is really the exception in the cinema industries that proves sequels can be far better than the original. And each entry is better than the last one. Two thumbs up for that achievement that I didn't expected for to be honest.
Sep 18, 2019
Fast & Furious4
Sep 18, 2019
The fourth part of the Fast and Furious franchise is actually better than part 1 and 2 as it have a kind of screenplay and the whole movie is really more interesting, but in my opinion regress from Tokyo Drift who was more enjoyable. Some good moments but still not enough to be really good. It poorly reunited cast from the original film but for no real attempt. Not good but not so bad.
Sep 18, 2019
The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift5
Sep 18, 2019
Tokyo Drift is by far more enjoyable than previous Fast and the Furious films. This is still lame and stupid but there's something really fun and entertaining in this one. The lead is actually more interesting than expected and for the first time in the franchise they really "drive", there's actually more than just go ahead faster as possible, there's a real challenge at driving at least. Overall a correct entry.
Sep 17, 2019
2 Fast 2 Furious3
Sep 17, 2019
2 Fast to Furious is probably the worst sequel to date from this franchise. But it's still more enjoyable than the first one. There's at least something that looks like the beginning of a story. This is still lame and ridiculously bad but at a higher level than the original one.
Sep 17, 2019
The Fast and the Furious2
Sep 17, 2019
There's near to nothing positive to say about the first Fast and the Furious. The story is inexistant, the direction is lame, the acting is sometime just ridiculous, that's the only franchise that becomes better on each entry due to the poor level of the first one. Only the original score by Brian BT Transeau is enjoyable, otherwise anything is barely unlikable.
Sep 16, 2019
The Killing of a Sacred Deer9
Sep 16, 2019
The Killing of a Sacred Deer is a damn mesmerizing crazy of a film. I've barley never seen an UFO of a film like this before. One-of-a-kind state-of-the-art accomplishments in both suspense and horror, with part drama and author's film, this is near to impossible to choose of which kind this movie is. I was basically in the edge of my seat from the very beginning until the last minute of it. Perfect direction, mind-blowing actors, cinematography is top notch and original score really scare the **** out of you. There's not a single minute where I wasn't saying wtf is happening literally. This is like if both David Cronenberg and Michael Haneke have directed a film but on LSD. Definitely not for the mainstream public, they are simply not able to watch this movie. This is really special and definitely smart as hell, so random moronic reviews is of course inevitable and came from peoples aren't able to judge or even watched it. There's of course haters since they are just too simple minded to understand what just happened regarding the usual movies they watch as 2 Fast to Furious as an example. Definitely not for everyone. But if you like crazy artistic horror cinema that's definitely well worth it. As for Dead Ringers or A Funny Game, I would never forget this masterpiece for sure.
Sep 15, 2019
Escape Plan7
Sep 15, 2019
Escape Plan is a damn funny action film, thanks to a mesmerizing Arnold performance. Finaly Schwarzenegger and Stallone stars together and result is beyond expectations. For sure this is not an academy award quality screenplay and some elements are quite cheesy but still enjoyable. This definitely well worth the watch and particularly if you're into 80s action movies. But for God's sake stay far away from the awful sequel Escape Plan Hades, even if the third part Escape Plan Extraction is a fine sequel.
Sep 15, 2019
The Kid5
Sep 15, 2019
It's a correct western, at least not a bad one. But something gone wrong about it. Some sequences are pretty well made while another ones are near to feet a low budgeted direct to video. That's quite strange actually. The two different stories in the film does not feet correctly together, at a point one is near to be usuless. The acting isn't amazing at all, the score is inefficient, the photography is not well made and the overall experience lacks of a real interest. We are at thousands miles away from a 3:10 to Yuma. I suspect that Vincent D'Onofrio is a better actor than director.
Sep 15, 2019
Wind River8
Sep 15, 2019
Excellent and deep thriller / drama / western with a hint of revenge movie. Very interesting story with state-of-the-art cinematography and directing. Strong cast and the original score is absolutely mind-blowing and deserves to be an instant classic from duo Warren Ellis & Nick Cave. I've barely nothing negative to say about it, really well worth the watch.
Sep 13, 2019
The Wind6
Sep 13, 2019
Pretty solid low budgeted horror movie. Not the best of the year but still effective and packed with one really creepy sequence. The "western" atmosphere reminds other great horror flicks as Witch or Dead Birds but without similarlies in the plot. Nice direction, very good acting, amazing cinematography and great original score by Ben Lovett.
Sep 13, 2019
Ravenous9
Sep 13, 2019
Ravenous is an instant classic! Kinda crazy horror adventure cannibalistic survival western with a damn awesome sens of criticism on the actual capitalist society. Story is just awesome as the actor was, Guy Pearce and Robert Carlyle was almost unforgettable as the leads, with a special mention to Neal McDonough for his crazy soldier part. The original score is damn addictive and one of the most original score ever, Michael Nyman and Damon Albarn have totally captured the essence of the story. The tense and suspense are mind-blowing and of course the gore sequence was funny as hell. Cinematography is also really beautiful and have a natural chemistry with the superb production design. Can't believe the poor rating around this masterpiece, critics have to return watching films for the simple-minded they are, I strongly suggest films on their level as 2 Fast 2 Furious or Transformers.
Sep 13, 2019
Nightbreed6
Sep 13, 2019
Nightbreed is really an interesting movie, not state-of-the-art but still very fine. The theatrical version isn't probably really representative of Clive Baker's original vision and miss many points and sequences. But the director's cut is really more impressive. One of the strong thing out of Nightbreed is David Cronenberg as Dr Decker that can easily scare the **** out of you and just perfectly feet in his part. Some special effects are really cheesy but that's not gonna hurt too much the final result. Danny Elfman's score is one of his best work to date in my opinion and helps to build this kinda gothic / gore atmosphere. Overall that's a very fine experience that I can only recommend to every horror fans. My final rating is about 5/10 for the theatrical but a strong 7/10 for the director's cut.
Sep 13, 2019
Prince of Darkness9
Sep 13, 2019
Prince of Darkness is by far the most underrated John Carpenter film. Just looking at theses so called critics give me severe headaches. This is an one-of-a-kind movie with a perfect eerie atmosphere that really feet to the story. The cast is really well chosen and the Carpenter / Howarth original score is one of their best to date. The set is really simple as it is creepy and the cinematography really helps a lot to feel the absence of the good inside these walls. I honestly can't find anything bad to say about the whole movie. The make up effects are probably the less effective point but are still believable and correct at this point. Definitely not your typical horror story and at millions miles ago from nowadays standard.
Sep 12, 2019
Rampage4
Sep 12, 2019
Well, how someone can wake up at the morning and said to himself "hey what's about doing a movie based on the hit vintage arcade video game Rampage" is really beyond me. That's probably the worst idea since The Daughter of Frankenstein... So of course the result looks only like a cheesy summer blockbuster with awful characters added and crapy CGI effects. Dwayne Johnson is playing a very well Dwayne Johnson and Negan euhk sorry I mean Jeffrey Dean Morgan adds nothing to this mess. The screenplay is how complex as was the screenplay from the game itself and the whole movie is filled with a non-stop excess of bad taste. At least there's two positive things, the original score is surprisingly good and the 3D on the Blu-ray edition is at unexpected level of quality. I've also liked very much the anti human morality of the film and the rampage sequences was quite funny even though it was too short. Otherwise it's barely less than average on any points.
Sep 8, 2019
The Dead Don't Die4
Sep 8, 2019
This is by far the most strangest zombie flick that I've ever seen. I'm still very confused about this. Jim Jarmusch isn't Georges Romero for sure so it's probably not surprising to get a kind of comedy / horror / author weird mixed up story. There's several great actors involved like Bill Murray, Steve Buscemi, Danny Glover, Adam Driver, Chloe Sevigny, Tilda Swinton, Larry Fessenden, Iggy Pop and a lot of others famous names so the acting part is really top notch. The direction and dialogues are also great and remind me Fargo on many aspect. But the story is really weird, the cinematography is lame and looks like a direct to video, there's some good score cues but for the most part is near to inexistant and the make up effects aren't amazing at all. That's definitely not for everyone.
Sep 7, 2019
Godzilla: King of the Monsters5
Sep 7, 2019
King of the Monsters isn't a bad movie, but contains too much issues to be fine. The main problem for this sequel is that characters **** even more than for the first one, Vera Farmiga is particularly annoying and usuless, she looks so stupid that she deserves a razzie award for his pathetic cliché frustrated woman's performance. The main new monster is also poorly introduced and badly designed, by chance this isn't concern the additional creatures. Otherwise the film is correct, Bear McCreary score is by far superior to the Desplat original one and most of the screenplay is at least a bit interesting. The direction and the CGI are also correct.
Sep 7, 2019
Dark Phoenix3
Sep 7, 2019
Here's the bottom of the barrel from the X-Men franchise! This chapter is even worst than X-Men 3 the Last Stand, what a damn accomplishment. The story is just empty as the brain of the producers, Sophie Turner is even worst than Christopher Lambert in Beowulf, the action is boring and ineffective, the Hans Zimmer score is a pathetic joke, well... What a mess of a film.
Michael Fassbender and James McAvoy are great as always, but this isn't enough to save this crap. Some scenes are still enjoyable, but this is overall a huge disappointment. This could be a franchise killer at this point.
Sep 7, 2019
Kong: Skull Island5
Sep 7, 2019
The original movie is better, the Peter Jackson 2005 version is better, the Dino DeLaurentiis 1976 version starring Jeff Bridges is better, it only surpassed the awful sequel King Kong Lives! But this stupid oversized Kong version, even if it's just a poor excuse to introduce yourself to the upcoming Godzilla vs Kong movie, isn't as horrible as I've expected. Sure this is all about Marvel's Loki, Nick Fury and Captain Marvel dealing with a huge chimpanzee, and the screenplay looks like a weird Jurassic Park set in the Apocalypse Now era... But for some reason I still found it enjoyable in some point. The cast and the average CGI for sure helped a lot. That's not a good movie at all, but it's a funny popcorn summer blockbuster and was in my humble opinion not as terrible as Godzilla was at least.
Sep 7, 2019
Godzilla3
Sep 7, 2019
I can't believe it, but Warner have achieved what first looked impossible to me: making a worst film than the Roland Emmerich 1998 version. This Godzilla is just boring and way overrated. Only the CGI are correct, but otherwise nothing to save here. Useless characters, lazy writing and awful original score from Alexandre Desplat (why the hell they didn't hired David Arnold from the previous Godzilla, or at least Tyler Bates...) are the only things that I can remember. The direction was ok enough and the final battle sequence wasn't great but still effective but this is overall more a disappointment than anything other.
Sep 5, 2019
The Curse of La Llorona3
Sep 5, 2019
At the first sequence you immediately understand that's again your soulless typical ghost "horror" movie, stupid jumpscare all around and cliché story is all what you'll get in this film. Poorly written and directed, with boring characters and lame technical performances. The original score was just awful as the film, nothing to save here. Do a favor to yourself and stay away from this crap.
Sep 5, 2019
Cold Skin6
Sep 5, 2019
Reminds me a lot of European horror movies mixed-up together, but not really in a bad way. Kinda The Descent meets Lighthouse with a Lovecraft atmosphere. Really well directed and an impressive cinematography, the music score is really effective and acting is overall really fine. The main problem is that the event goes way too fast, the suspense and the mistery around the story was immediately obsolete and that's a shame for this kind of horror movie. Some elements are also quite strange and doesn't really feet the main survival story. Otherwise the experience is still enjoyable.
Sep 3, 2019
Our House6
Sep 3, 2019
Don't be fooled by the idiotic negative reviews from so called professionals, Our House is a clever and subtle horror / drama with a top notch atmosphere and strong performance from the leads. For sure this isn't the best horror film of the year out there but despite the classic ending and some cliché sequences the overall experience really worth it.
Sep 3, 2019
I Still See You5
Sep 3, 2019
I Still See You is interesting in the concept and the first hour of the movie is kinda attractive, but sadly the ending part isn't and turn as your typical cliché horror thriller. The other main problem is all the sequences goes way to fast, you can't have the time to merge into the atmosphere or the story. Overall not a bad flick but definitely a little disappointing.
Sep 3, 2019
Phantasm: Ravager2
Sep 3, 2019
Phantasm Ravager is simply the bottom of the barrel from the franchise. Not only because of the poor story and the cheap directing or special effects but also in every way possible. This looks like an awful late night TV movie from the nineties. Near to nothing to save here even for the die-hard Phantasm fans. What a shame for Don Coscarelli. You better run away from this crap.
Sep 3, 2019
Phantasm III: Lord of the Dead5
Sep 3, 2019
After an average sequel Phantasm continue to become worst and cheaper at each installment. Part 2 wasn't good as the first one, but was still enjoyable and produced with a correct budget. Part 3 is simply the beginning of the end of the franchise, introducing useless characters and boring sequences at every turns. There's no production value and there's a huge lack of quality and originality. Overall very disappointing.
Sep 3, 2019
Phantasm II6
Sep 3, 2019
After a great independent horror classic came your typical major Hollywood sequel. Not a bad movie but really far from the original one. The film is still enjoyable even if we totally miss the original eerie atmosphere to the favor of a kind of weird road movie with some goofy gore sequences. The franchise will unfortunately stay on this way for the next installments and become worst and worst at each new entries.
Sep 3, 2019
Phantasm8
Sep 3, 2019
Phantasm is a really strange horror movie but also an one-of-a-kind story packed up with an eerie atmosphere and a cult synth score from Fred Myrow. Unfortunately the sequels wasn't as good as the first one but the original is still very effective.
Sep 3, 2019
Men in Black: International2
Sep 3, 2019
This "new" Men in Black entry is just pure garbage. I'm feel so bad for Liam Neeson and Chris Hemsworth to have starred in this crap of a film. Still can't believe how stupid and boring is this sequel. I've expected something correct since this was from the director of The Negociator, but I've probably missed that he also directed Fast and Furious 8 more recently...
Sep 2, 2019
Brightburn6
Sep 2, 2019
The Omen meets Superman in this funny horror flick from the family of director James Gunn (Slither, Guardians of the Galaxy).
The gore sequences was truly amazing and the overall experience is really enjoyable. The worst part came from acting and particularly from the kid who is just annoying as hell. Otherwise this is a really decent production.
Sep 2, 2019
Beyond Skyline3
Sep 2, 2019
Sure the first one wasn't glorious at all. But at least it was correctly directed and with a decent budget. This follow up is just your typical poor direct to video sequel. Frank Grillo is correct as the lead but except that all is barely unlikable. Special effects are ridiculous, directing is ineffective and the story is just a joke. If you didn't liked the first Skyline you will probably hate the sequel.
Sep 2, 2019
Greta6
Sep 2, 2019
Just looks like a modern ripp off from Stephen King's Misery. But is still enjoyable even if the tense and "horror" are way softer. The performance from Chloe Grace Moretz and Isabelle Hupert are the strong part of the film and probably save the lack of innovation in the screenplay and direction. But of course Hupert isn't Kathy Bates and doesn't scare the **** out of you as Annie Wilkes was able to do.
Jun 22, 2019
Dolores Claiborne9
Jun 22, 2019
Dolores Claiborne is criminaly underrated. This is one of the most intense and sick drama ever directed. One of the most subtle Stephen King story, this is almost shocking that Kathy Bates and Jennifer Jason Leigh don't won an academy award for their deep performances. Danny Elfman's original score would be at least nominated too. I just can't believe the poor reviews from so called professionals. When I see that some poor pop corn blockbuster crap like Captain America or Avengers have better ratings I just can't believe it. Critics are really a bunch of morons. One of the best drama ever, case closed.
May 30, 2019
Blade Runner9
May 30, 2019
I'm talking about Blade Runner: Director's Cut (1991). Blade Runner is an one-of-a-kind sci-fi film noir masterpiece. The ambiance of Vangelis' score and production design are just out of this world. Phenomenal work in every way. Directing by Ridley Scott is at his finest to date, the rainy atmosphere just feet perfectly to this story driven by agent Deckard wonderfully portrayed with a top notch Harrison Ford and Rutger Hauer is coldest as possible as we even imagine this is really a replicant for some moments. All the visual effects are spectacular and still very effective as the today standard. The story is loosely based on the Philip K **** novel but have is own approach that perfectly feet to Ridley Scott own vision of the story. Every sequences are unforgettable and the final is just perfect! Near to reach the prefect 10 rating. The Final Cut of the film have some sequences and color treatments altered so this deacrese the rate from 9 to 8 in my opinion. And then the theatrical version, the international version and the now official workprint version are all far from what the final versions are. Complete opposite of Star Wars original saga by the way. This is also probably the first serious cyberpunk movie ever made. An instant classic that absolutely deserve to be seen.
May 27, 2019
In the Mouth of Madness7
May 27, 2019
John Carpenter do it again. Another masterpiece in the horror genre. The story is just mesmerizing and looks like a Stephen King adaptation at his best. Sam Neil is just amazing in the lead and Jurgen Prochnow plays a creepy King like novelist. The set for the fictive town of Obs' End is just very well produced and the original score (by Carpenter himself as always) perfectly feet to the movie. Probably what is the last Carpenter's classic movie. Not superior to The Thing or Prince of Darkness but definitely can reach the level of his Halloween and The Fog. This isn't to be missed.
May 27, 2019
The Fog7
May 27, 2019
The Fog was another great atmospheric horror movie. The directing, the cinematography and the production design was wonderful, but what have truly helped to make this one-of-a-kind atmosphere was the John Carpenter and Alan Howarth original score, this is probably one of their finest score to date. The story isn't maybe at the best and some characters would probably be more interesting with a different cast. But this is still an excellent Carpenter classic and deserve to be seen by the new generation. Some elements are outdated for sure, but many are still very effective.
May 26, 2019
Amityville: The Awakening4
May 26, 2019
First of all there's no 18 official entry as stated by misleading comments. Amiytivile The Awakening is in fact the 10th official entry. Amityville, part II, part 3D, part IV, The Curse, It's About Time, New Generation, Dollhouse, Amityville reboot and then Amityville Awakening, later The Amityville Murders was added as a reboot of The Possessed (part II). All other movies labeled Amityville are just for take some money from the cashcow fans I'm afraid, nothing more. Didn't think you can add Amityville Asylum or other boring titles as Amityville Haunting in the franchise since they aren't.
Then back to the 10th entry, Amityville Awakening, the film is totally lost about how to establish himself. It's in the same time a sequel to the original, but other Amityville movies (1, 2 and reboot) are actually on DVD on screen in the movie, this made it a kind of Scream-like Amityville reboot. At the same time some parts are rebooting The Amityville II as a backstory. The film is a real mess. They have actually no idea of what they want to do with the film and this can easily be understood simply by just watching it. Cast of Bella Thorne and Jennifer Jason Leigh are both solid but this does not save the film. Frank Khalfou is actually a good director, his Maniac reboot is just amazing and P2 was a nice thriller, but he have totally miss the point on this one. Only Rob's original score is interesting and have a fresh approach to the franchise. Otherwise horror sequences was just boring and stupid, packed with jumpscare all around. With every scenes predictable and made as it was a direct to video title. It looks like a bad highly budgeted fanboy movie. Total waste of time and talents. This is maybe not the worst Amityville entry to date (thanks to The Amityville Curse) but this is without any doubts the most confusing.
May 25, 2019
The Exorcist III7
May 25, 2019
The Exorcist III is in fact the only entry in the franchise that really scare the s**t out of me. Some sequences are just creepy as hell. As always both George C Scott and Brad Dourif are absolutely brilliant and the directing is actually very fine for someone who wasn't a director (since the job was done by William Peter Blatty, the franchise's creator). The director's cut (titled The Exorcist III Legion) is superior on many points, but the theatrical version is still a very good version. Barry DeVorzon's original score added more scare and is also probably the best of the franchise, ironically the soundtrack is still unreleased to date. Some boring unnecessary sequences are going to decrease the overall rating but that's nothing to be mad about.
