Fun, but it isn't Doom and it's not as good as Doom. There is way too much tedious jump puzzles and the map design isn't up to the levels of the classic games.

****'s in 3D, but it's not really a VR game as theres no VR interaction with the world. They have simply remapped the controls to the wireless control pads. You can't pick anything up or "touch" anything, it's all button presses like the flat version. The result is very clunky controls when a proper VR game should feel natural. Give it a miss unless they completely re-work the controls. Or more likely, someone makes a mod to improve it.

This game is trying so hard to be an "esport", but it is too imbalanced and the skill cap is rather low. So it's kinda failing at that. The gameplay is about the characters and powerful I-win abilities rather than the player's ability. There are much better arena shooters out there for less money (and free, like UT4). Also no proper servers, only crappy matchmaking, no mod support, small maps and small player count.

Originally I gave this game a 6. But after playing it more it is growing on me. The game does really pick up after about half way in. The maps become more interesting, the difficulty increases and overall it starts to feel more "Doomish". So I upped my score to a 7/10. Not GOTY material, but still a fun game.

An insult to the *10 year old* Battlefront 2. It has a fraction of the content, poor game design everywhere and costs 3x as much? Unfortunately, the mugs will pay for the game so they will keep churning out more.

At the moment it's basically a reboot of the original 1984 game, as was planned for the initial release. Features from the later Elites are going to be added gradually (like being able to land on planets). But it's still very playable as is. But if didn't like the old Elite games, you won't like this one. Some (well, most gamers now) will not like it, because it's a vast galaxy and there is no hand-holding what so ever. It chucks you in and you have to figure stuff out yourself and progress however you like. It's also quite difficult to start off. In the end though. Frontier is pushing the boundaries and is trying something new and for that they have to be respected. It's FAR from the generic crop of FPS and RPG games we see so many of these days.

Probably the creepiest atmosphere I've seen in a game since System Shock 2. But it is the first game I've ever played where the tension is relentless, all through the game you never get the feeling of being safe. The alien can appear almost any where if you make to much noise. You also risk attracting hostile human NPCs. Get both in the same room and you have a real mess. The map design is good. The AI isn't amazing, but it's better than most FPSs (it's a lot smarter on hard than the other modes as well). It's certainly the best Aliens game I've played.

Bad game backed up by nasty lead developer who is a well known troll and kind of the Uwe Boll of the games industry. Just go and take a look at their steam forum... They lock/delete posts and BAN users from it where they are complaining about the game, or saying bugs need to be fixed. That attitude speaks volumes and by itself warrants a low score.

Good humor, over the top gore, fast paced action, hordes of enemies and a responsiveness that only PC focused games can deliver. It's an old school shooter with modern touches and one of the best FPSs I've played in a while. If it comes up during a sale again, deffinately get it! If your NOT used to FPS games from the era Shadow Warrior originaly came from (90s), then you will probably find this game extremely hard. The AI is relentless and unlike most modern games, no part of it is easy on the harder difficulty settings.

A HUGE improvement over the previous game. But maybe not quite as good as Brotherhood, which was the best of the series. IV setting is very different, as is the main character's story os don't expect traditional Assassin's Creed stuff so much. The setting is good, the characters are interesting and the combat system is as good as it always was. If you avoided AC3 but enjoyed the earlier games then get this one.

The game is just lacking compared to the older ones. Theres also a lot of bugs, some gamebreaking (e.g. unable to progress with missions). The FPS content just seems pointless and cheaply done (theres about 3-4 different areas and character types that are re-used everywhere) theres only 1 flyable ship, the map makes no sense and the UI is awful, capships sometimes clip right through stations instead of flying around, You don't seem to have much control over your fleet of NPC ships. If you want a good X game buy of of the previous ones. Even if this one gets fixed it's not great.

The multiplayer is where this game shines. If you have played the Total War games and always wanted to get in the mix in 1st/3rd person, then this is the game. 200 player maps and realistic medieval combat. I only reason I gave it "only" and 8 is because the graphics could be better, but they are not that bad for it's age.

This game is a modern classic and I think one that will be remembered. It goes to show you don't need a AAA budget to make something great. The only reason I didn't give it top marks is it needs more mod support (i.e. steam workshop)

How many times a year can they release the same, generic FPS game for $60? This only goes to show that if you build up enough hype, people will buy any old crap. I think it's safe to say that if you want value for money these days, stay away from the big publishers like Activision and EA...

I played this again recently and it's still looks good even 8 years on (after some tweaks to get 1920x1080) and is still one of the best RTSs I've played. Shame it had such a bad release and no one knew about it, otherwise they would have been able to finish the sequel. Currently £1.49 on steam, if you like sci-fi and RTSs it's one you need to play. The down sides are... it has quite a steep learning curve and it's not aimed at people who cannot figure things out for themselves (like most games do these days), there is no hand-holding and the AI is ruthless. Which makes it very hard.

Very fun and well made game. It's a 2D platformer, but it doesn't need to be anything else. Everything is done just right. If you liked the platform games of the 80s and early 90s on the old Atari systems etc, you will probably like it. If your a COD kid you will probably hate it because it doesn't have amazing graphics and a new release every 3 months.

There were a number of RTS/FPS mixed games 10+ years ago, but they seem to have died out. Kids these days probably don't remember them :) It doesn't really add or take away anything from the original, but it doesn't need to. It's still a great game and much better than most big budget FPSs to come out recently.

Fun game with an original setting. But let down by short campaign and graphics which have been ported straight to from console (so they look very dated on PC). It's a bit like a cross between thief, bioshock and assassins creed, but without the depth of them. It's worth an 7 or 8, but not a 10.

Best multiplayer FPS in years gameplay wise. More balanced than prevous tribes with a lot less focus on vehicles. But also lacks some of it's features which does let it down a bit and the maps are a lot smaller as well. Also no 3rd party modding was what kept the old tribes alive, it doesn't have that either.

An original game, which is something we've been lacking for the past few years. It is not like Left 4 Dead so don't go in expecting that. It's more like Fallout 3 mixed with Farcry 2 (but without being **** like Farcry 2). The combat system is not like anything I've seen before and it works really well, most of the weapons are melee and guns/ammo are scarce (as they would be in this situation). Multiplayer is persistant and feels kinda like an MMO. If someone is in your area, you can join them if you wish, no loading screens or anything, your games will be instantly joined and it becomes co-op. I gave it a 7 because it's to buggy in places at the moment, performance bugs especially.
