Blown away by the attention to detail updating this classic. The visuals are amazing, from the ghosts to the shadows moving when shining the lantern. Spooky but not scary. Updated puzzles, and new puzzles. My favourite PSVR2 game to date. My only gripes so far is that sometimes there's an audio issue where it's hard to hear what's being said when you find the music boxes. I'm not sure if it's intentially muffled or not. Also some puzzles can be finicky when you have to press buttons with your skeleton hand and it can feel rather clumsy.

Perfect blend of old school with modern features. My 7 year old and I have been playing non stop. This is how beat 'em up's should be done.

How are these reviews possible? I woke up at 4 am to play this game. The first thing I did when I woke up was quickly scan metacritic for what people were saying. I saw all the **** reviews and knew it had to be bull****. Loaded up the game and played for a solid hour and a half. Not even fully done the tutorial yet. This game is exactly like the first one, except everything is tighter. The graphics are the best I've ever seen on a console so far. The acting is amazing, the controls are just like the first one. The story has me hooked in all ready. I'm anticipating this game to be at least as great as the original, hence the 10 rating. I'll change my review if this turns out not to be the case. What has me perplexed is all the terrible reviews. Assuming that everyone who reviewed this game before me started playing at midnight, and assuming they all submitted they're reviews at 3:59 am, that would mean they would have had maybe 2 hours and 20 mins of gameplay tops over me. What could possibly happen in 2 hours and 20 mins to completely derail this experience? Impossible to do a 180 that quickly. If you're reading these reviews this early on and seeing all this negativity, then you're being trolled. If you loved the first game, this is a must play for sure.

This plays like if Rick and Morty had a baby with Conkers Bad Fur Day. Crude but funny jokes, same platform double jump/hovering levels. The only thing is that the jokes are repetitive and the game is super easy and short. You can beat it about 6-7 hours and nab yourself an easy platinum trophy while you do it. I tried the dlc right after I beat the game but was already too bored of the gameplay by then to continue, so I gave up. I waited for the game to drop in price (I think it was 40%) when I bought it, bringing it just over $20 Canadian, which was still too much. It'd be a fun pick up if you get for under $10.

To be fair, I bought this game well over a year after it released, but it quickly became one of my favourite games of the decade. Yeah it has infuriating load times, NPCs have few skins and look similar, and occasionally you see a body without a head, but behind it all is a solid RPG that doesn't hold your hand and will keep you busy for at least 100 hours. If they were to release a sequel with AAA budget, it'll definitely be a day 1 buy from me.
