Despite the short length the game overstays it's welcome thus making the gameplay loop incredibly repetitive long before the credits roll . Story is also paper thin and the interactions between Hugh and Diana are the only thing past the cool boss fights that somewhat made me wanna push to the finish line

Gameplay wise it fails because it's like someone giving you a million keys for an unlocked door . Combat , Stealth and boss fights were more engaging in Kojima's game 20 years ago . Narratively I found it nauseatingly pretentious and a rehash in many ways . It looks pretty and the Neil Vana intro's were cool , I don't have anything else positive to say about it

I already had souls fatigue by the time I finished the DLC of Dark Souls 3 so it certainly didn't help that Elden Ring is essentially Dark Souls 3 with a jump function and a janky horse set in an open world . Said open world is HIGHLY overrated because it's mostly filled with crap bosses and crap dungeons that get recycled often . Can you skip them? Not really because without a guide you won't know where essential items or weapons are and many times they are hidden in these dungeons or they are given as rewards . Speaking of which good luck completing side quests without a guide . Boss fights beyond a certain point are just annoying to deal with and most normal people will just abuse some exploit they read online in order to beat them

Kingdom Come Deliverance is still to this day a buggy and very flawed game but nothing will change the fact that it is a breath of fresh air in a sea of copy/paste garbage . I HIGHLY recommend it just for the insane amount of freedom you receive in many quests , The crazy amount of detail in literally everything and the fact that it's historically accurate The combat becomes a bit silly with the ripostes and the save system which is designed to prevent save scamming (Despite the game having a ton of cheap BS to deal with) is garbage but not enough to deter from the greatness of this game Hands down the best game that came out in the previous gen for me

+ Good/Funny writing and Kate Archer still destroys any "strong" female character they've written in the last 10 years + Level design is pretty good - Stealth is terrible due to the insanely inconsistent/clairvoyant AI which wouldn't have been an issue if... - The combat wasn't so mediocre either . Kate is super weak and enemies have laser and pixel perfect accuracy which leads to you baiting their braindead AI to come at you single file while you're waiting at corners Play it since it's free and it can run on a potato . Despite it's weaknesses and certain things not aging all that well it's still a fun game

Dead by Daylight always had core design problems that the developers refused to address beyond a superficial level (Band aid paid for perks and tonedeaf buffs/nerfs) but I found it pretty fun regardless . After being gone for a year I bought a 1 month PS Plus subscribtion just to play a few matches again which I partially regret since on the one hand my time with the game was miserable but on the other I don't think I'll ever feel FOMO ever again To put it bluntly the game can only be "fun" to newbies where the novelty of the premise is still fresh , People that have devoted a crazy amount of hours into it and know pretty much everything , Those that play survivor with at least 2 other friends and lastly those that thrive in the toxic stuff this game allows you to get away with Much have been said about which side is more fair or fun but for the average Joe currently both sides are hell . If you play solo queue survivor prepare to be camped , Tunneled , Butthumped by Nurses and Blights with thousands of hours and to be constantly let down by teammates that refuse to do their objectives or commit sepuku on hook for no reason If you play killer you can hypothetically play pretty toxic yourself and have decent results without breaking a sweat but try to have any fun by actually chasing people around and it's also hell as you have survivors that know maps and loops like the back of their hand and can run you around for ages . At best you might find the weak link first which will cause the entire rest of the team to crumble but that never felt satisfying or rewarding The SBMM , The obvious focus on competitive play and streamers and the fact that there aren't any other casual modesin what is supposed to be a glorified freeze tag party game also help kill this game completely dead for me . Lastly the gameplay loop has remained completely stagnant beyond some superficial meta changes as most new perks and killers are nothing more than rehashes of the same concepts

It had the potential to be good but unfortunately it is littered with gacha monetization practices that are specifically designed to waste both your time and money . Progression is laughably slow as the bare minimum which is to get a character to P5 for free requires 84 log ins to raise the 3 intensive manuals that are required I say the bare minimum because if you pay/grind enough base stats and individual character strengths and weaknesses don't matter as you can take a center and twist him into becoming a 3pt machine (Among other things) via a combination of P-Buffs and gold/platinum cards P-Buffs are buffs that one character can transfer over to everyone else of the same position and if you have 4 characters at P5 you can equip up till 8 . This a manipulative scheme in order to coerce you into buying and grinding characters you don't care for to make your mains RNG chances less random (More on this later) Cards can provide various buffs that get stronger and stronger the higher the rarity of the card is . After opening hundreds of free gold packs 98% of the time I received garbage or silver cards so if you ain't opening the stupid expensive platinum ones you ain't doing jack . Another thing worth mentioning is that the developers do not allow you to trade cards between characters because of course they don't How all of this translates to gameplay is as follows The basic premise is that you have to make fast and accurate characters so that A) You make or close space as fast physically possible and B) Their defense de-buff gets de-buffed by your shot success RNG . As bad as this sound it wouldn't have been THAT bad if it wasn't for freestyles which are arguably the worst and most gamebreaking thing in this game aside from the poor netcode (Again more on this later) Freestyles essentially change the normal and character unique shooting , lay up and dunk animations to ones that are faster and offer defense resistence so if you put 0,3% effort and you have a lot of these (Insane grinding/pay requirement) they're pretty much gifted points Damn near every character has the potential to be strong and/or annoying if you open up that wallet but some more than others . More specifically some DLC characters when appropriately buffed have ZERO flaws or weaknesses All of this exists so that at the very least you'll be manipulated into buying the 80$ ultimate edition which unlocks all characters and future super grindy battle passes that unlike other games aren't just cosmetics but full of "time savers" . From there you better log in every day and grind the FOMO events like a second job if you wish to stand even a slight chance Now on to the netcode/servers and good god is it bad . If you have an insanely good ping you gain a MASSIVE frame advantage and if you lag just the right amount you can get "wide open" prompts on your shot even if the defender is an ants distance away from your face and honestly I don't know what's worse (You'll see many abusing this by doing things such as changing regions or suspiciously calling for time-outs to subtly lag switch ) It's also worth noting that if the match/servers are laggy then I've noticed that your shot success will be butchered as you can and will miss basic open 2pt shots despite having characters and builds specifically build around that (One exception being if you have 100+ ssr which you won't for free) The measly player base itself mostly consists of narcissistic "exploit" abusing meta slaves that actually have gaslighted themselves into believing that what they're doing requires skill . After level 10 you'll be fed to whales that have a billion hours worth of grinding and an obscene amount of money spend on this one game . A blacklist system could help but the developers know that whales would abuse it and everyone else would block the whales from ever finding a match There's a LOT of other things I could mention such as the quid pro quo ranked , The numerous bugs , Skill balls multiplying in price the more you buy in a single day , PC cheaters with uncapped framerates , Them taking years to nerf broken characters and many other manipulative practices such as the refinery that buffs platinum cards and the intensive updates that allow characters to go beyond P5 for EIGHT INTENSIVE MANUALS (Thankfully most characters aren't worth P6'ing) Judging by the games history the game will somehow be in a worse state a year from now as the developers constantly up the ante to keep their whales busy . Anyone sane abandoned the game 4-5 years ago and now it's almost exclusively played by toxic whales . I'd say to avoid it like the plague unless they add a permanent no buffs mode but even then if 3X3 is any indication these cucks will still resort to abusing dumb exploits to get the win

Brutal pacing , Lifeless animation as characters only have one sprite , Window dressing investigation elements and the occasional iffy writing here and there hurt Root Film dramatically which is sad because it's story , Characters and twist are all good . It also does not help that they probably hoped for a Last Answer-esque re-release and half assed the final chapter again . Root Film sold very poorly and with no PC release in sight I wonder what the future holds for this series If you are interested watch it on youtube as you'll get the same exact experience I had

As charming as Journey was and it's social element is cute provided you find the right person/people but the constant "encouragement" to spend money on microtransactions to bypass the grind and it's lack of depth make it lose it's luster fairly quickly . It can be fun for 2-3 hours though if you're looking to relax
