Combat and parkour feel great, and having a young woman of color as the protagonist is a welcome change, but the rest is sadly mediocre. The world is huge but sterile. The story is basic and superficial. Bits of lore scattered around the world just don’t come together into a deep or meaningful narrative. Side characters are flat and forgettable. I kinda liked the dynamic between Frey and the Cuff, but the repetitive dialogue and excessive cursing just killed the vibe. The voice acting is good though. All in all, during my playthrough I caught myself sooo many times being confused or simply cringing because of the writing, but the dopamine from the action kept me going. If it’s on sale, you might give it a try, but at full price? No no no.

I normally don’t play either resource management or sci-fi themed games but this one made me reconsider my preferences. I liked literally everything about it - the story, the visuals, the atmosphere, the gameplay loop, each and every alter with their imperfections and traumas. The voice acting is top notch. The environment might seem a bit generic but it serves the purpose of depicting a deserted, hostile planet. The game is deep, though provoking, loaded with existential themes. The only reason I’m not giving it a 10/10 is that it’s extremely buggy and crashed way too many times, especially during Act 2.

An unfairly downrated game. Indeed, the dialogue is cheesy and cringey at times, but overall the main story and companions’ arcs are emotional and engaging. Combat feels smooth and fun, with a good sense of flow, and visually the game is gorgeous. Music, SFX, and VA also clicked with me.
My main issues were the way too easy puzzles, limited gameplay mechanics, stiff animations in cutscenes, and outrageously ugly armor design. Overall, I think the game would have been more enjoyable with a slightly darker, more down-to-earth tone, but in the end its flaws are bearable.
As a newcomer to the DA universe, I had a lot of fun with it.
