Cutscenes run at 10 FPS in Quality Mode on Series X. There’s literally 2 hardware configurations to support on Xbox, could you not afford to buy a Series X before launch and check how your game runs? I haven’t experienced such graphics lag ever since I moved away from PC gaming. I can’t buy a bigger graphics card for my Xbox to run your game, guys. I finally gave up and switched to Performance mode, only to find out I’d be forced to watch through all the intro cutscenes again. Unskippable. Nope. Sony and Microsoft are competing over who can trash their own brand faster. FC6 is making a compelling case for Microsoft…

It looks nice, but it’s sooo badly made I couldn’t believe it. You have the drone with an attack mode that… wont attack. It hovers around the target being shot at and dies. You have the drone that deploys a temporary shield… underground. Some people say these can sometimes get fixed by restarting your PS4, but it’s not worth it.

It’s an unbelievably good game, even more so if you think about how it was made by a single person. Plot is irrelevant, this game is about pulling mind-blowing combos with ease and elegance, and it delivers just that. There’s different weapon types that actually feel and play differently. Different levels with different enemies, nicely paced and with just the right difficulty. I could do without “that” level, but the heli-hat makes it worth it.

This game is an amateurishly broken mess. It lacks basic features (I can’t compare two weapons side by side in the inventory, what??), its interface is nightmarish (changing a load out for one of your goons and want to switch to another goon? Go all the way back to the map, switch your active goon, go back to the inventory menu). The “big” map is too zoomed in, you can’t just look at it and find your waypoint, you need to scroll it street by street, looking for the marker. My goons randomly stopped following me at some point, so I got into a shootout with 5 guys alone, but when I died, the game condescendingly told me I would’ve lost if not for the tutorial. Unbelievably bad. On the plus side, the music and visuals were nice.

Terrible. Ridiculous writing, unlikable characters, terrible one-click fighting system. Everything looks clunky, cartoonish and arcade. They tried to make another Dark Souls, but we ended up with a Poundland Sonic knock-off. I got it for free and I still feel like I overpaid.

No offline mode. Requires an account that I can’t create. Servers down? Can’t play. Internet down? Can’t play. I got it for free from PS Plus, but even then I feel cheated. The fact that they want money for this F2P-style cancer is depressing.

Waste of time. Very repetitive, combat is boring and shallow. Without checkpoints you spend 80% of your time shooting basic monsters with a starting weapon hoping the rRNG will finally give you a normal weapon in the next random room to go make another try on the boss. It’s not challenging, just excruciatingly boring. The idea is nice though, it could be developed into something good if better care was taken.

You can’t play it unless you turn off your network connection. Otherwise it locks you out until you register on some knockoff publisher’s website. To make matters worse, the PS5 enhanced version is just your regular PS4 with a broken bow string haptic. The graphics are terrible: brown-grey palette and low level of detail.

It cannot save single player without a server connection. And their servers sometimes stop working. Also poor single player campaign.

Garbage. Gameplay is hardcore, but loading times are ridiculous. Stealth abilities are useless due to limited energy, and when you fail you get punished by 40 seconds of a dull loading screen. The only way to play is a GoW-style shooter. Except GoW is better at it.

This is the worst shooter game I’ve seen in a while. The single player part features crowd favourites, such as: - Very hard QTE where you fight a ****, that reloads very slowly - Dumb AI that likes blocking your line of sight on the enemy only to engage one further away - Aim that jumps up every time you get hit - A mount machine gun that doesn’t scare enemies in the slightest, it’s easier to use a rifle - Lots of running - Enemies with amputated self-preservation instinct (and common sense) This game represents all the bad stuff that happens with commercialised milking of franchises these days.

One of the most disappointing games I’ve had so far. With all the marketing around it, I expected a true gem, but only got a mediocre Skyrim clone. It’s lore is good, and it’s graphics are stunning, but everything else just doesn’t stand any scrutiny. Clumsy and boringly repetitive, this game is a huge waste of time and money when not consumed through YouTube. This is a corporate bloop made with marketing, not essence. Beware.

From Dark Souls to Mario Kart, the main and only measure of any game is whether it’s fun. Sekiro is not fun. Its simpleton bashing is too easy, and it’s bosses are too hard. But instead of being hard in a DS way, where joy comes from finding and exploiting a weakness of it, it’s hard in a blunt way: you need to train yourself to click appropriate buttons in a split second. Unlike DS, this game offers no alternative weapons, no alternative damage buffs (apart from confetti, which only comes in handy against 2 (!) apparition bossed). Sekiro offers prosthetic tools as an alternative, but they require a scarce resource to use, and you can only carry so many, making them unsustainable choice. All in all, the only way you can defeat later game bosses is by training yourself like a dog to press every button with perfect timing, chipping their health tiny bit by tiny bit. One wrong move and the boss will wipe the floor with your 10 health bar upgrades in a split second. From across the room. But all the above could be forgiven and ignored. DS had ridiculous bosses and broken fights (DS2 marauders trio from a DLC, anyone?), but you could always get over them by bringing your mates with you. A hard game with no multiplayer requires some next level design prowess, and From Software falls short of this plank. This game is fun at the beginning, but it soon goes to simply frustrating. Frustration is no fun.
