The game is very buggy. I barely played 3 hours and I'm still doing the boring mandatory tutorial missions and I encountered the some issues. The game crashed to desktop after meeting with Torres, after boarding a ship Adéwalé kept shooting an invisible gun until I reached Dry Tortuga, the character jumped off the mast several times while I was trying to climb to cut the flag of a ship.

An unnecessary game, with mostly reused assets from previous games. An open world that still consists of corridors. It has a ton of loot that devalues all of it, I didn't even check what I got after defeating bosses because it was random junk. The soundtrack is completely forgettable, the 'story' doesn't really add anything and graphics are dated. The game is just overall boring, after 1-1,5 hour I just had to find a video or something to entertain myself.

Fell through the map 2 times in 30 minutes in and after club tarsus on the single path that I could follow. More than a year after release I still had textures which failed to load on the tutorial level and I could just clip thorugh a path which Nix was supposed to open. An enemy searching for me walked right past me, while I was standing in an area where I was supposed to sneak. When I was found and they started to shoot at me I couldn't equip my gun. The first cutscene where I meet the crew froze and only the sound played. I've never seen this many bugs in a game and this was just the starter area and supposedly after many patches. This is a new low for Ubisoft.

It's not a bad game but there is so much I dislike and compared to Ghost of Tsushima which is one of my favourites this is a big letdown. The wolf chase scenes are so unnecessary, the western style music doesn't fit the setting. Atsu is annoying and unrelatable, the actions of the Yotei Six doesn't make sense on several occasions. The first game's stance system was much better than this weapon based where you're forced to constanly change while the enemies gang up on you. The worst for me is the modern approach. Most women are good characters and even if not they have a reason for it while most man are just simply bad. Jubei would have been a better protagonist. I don't see the point of using the Japanese setting if the main character doesn't fit, have and have nothing to do with it.

Weird music selection in many cutscenes, characters are not likeable, but Yasuke is the biggest issue. Forcing him into a samurai role adds nothing to the game. He never really acts like he should as an outsider, more like someone who is fully familiar which Japanese culture. ,Everyone is favorable towards him and even daimyos show respect to a supposed nobody. They made Naoe weak in combat to give him a reason to exist but since he's bad at everything else it just breaks up the gameplay. The missions are boring, sometimes bugged and very static. The world is big, but empty and boring, there are not many things to discover and traveling on horse or foot is a chore. In classic Ubisoft style everything is dumbed down, just follow the markers or if there are no markers use the scouts to add markers. The are no good minigames. Combat is not bad, but the same 3-4 finisher get tiresome fast. I played this game because I love Japan, but it doesn't even get close to the likes of Ghost of Tsushima, Like a dragon: Ishin! or Rise of the Ronin which all present other, for me less interesting time periods but way better.

An excellent game in all aspects. Brilliant music, great story and characters, good combat, and realistic, interesting interactions that most games lack. I can only reccomend it.
