Metroid Prime 4: Beyond10
Dec 7, 2025
A truly amazing game that’s destined to become a cult classic in years to come, Prime 4 is the samus we all know and love but with a much better combat system, Improved interface, and the most incredible graphics I’ve seen from a first party Nintendo tile
Yes the desert is a hub for you to just drive from one section to the next, and if you don’t have the amiibo of samus you can’t enjoy music, But little quips aside this is more similar to Metroid prime 1, To a fault at times.
If you don’t like the hand holding I fully understand, But these people saying the character is obnoxious and unnecessary is just utterly untrue. Do I need to be reminded to save? No. But I’ve been playing Metroid since th NES, Thisnew generation is used to auto save for everything, especially the fps genre, So let the new players soak in the experience and enjoy.
It gives us veterans a beautiful andvast world with plenty of puzzles and some of the best boss fights the series has ever seen! Samus is back in a BIG way, I support retro studios to the fullest and can only imagine what will be possible with a true switch 2 Metroid title since this is just an upscaled switch1 game, We won’t know for a few years but if this is how they started then count me in for the long haul. 10/10

A simple game in terms of kart racing, But surprisingly and incredibly deep in many different **** kart accelerates on its own, but everything else has to be done by the player, Including strategizing a whole lot more than you would think. What an incredible single player mode, th way to unlock characters, play mini games, complete races, it’s just phenomenal work from a legendary game creator. My only nitpick would be the sense of speed isn’t really there at times, and at others it’s much too chaotic for its own good. But the frame rate doesn’t skip a beat, the characters are delightful and while this game ist exactly for everyone, I honestly don’t know someone that would pop it in and just nah. They may say not my style of game “right now” but once it catches them on the right day it’ll hold on and never let go. Well done, this game is amongst the best releases of this console generation. 9.5/10

Quite possibly one of the best roguelites EVER made after Hades and a couple of others. It’s innovative, And has a deep (deeper than I thought) town builder which slowly gets bigger and bigger as you take on more complex and more difficult missions. Eventually residents that move can become your allies in battle as you level them up. I can’t give it a perfect 10 as of yet because there are SOME random bugs present. The game closed out on me one single time (on launch day, it hasn’t done it again) and for some reason when the enemies are at a distance they move at 5fps…on the switch 2? Regardless this is a 9.5 in my eyes and as close to greatness as you can get in th me genre, And for $24.99? Nah you know what let me bump it up toa10, I 100% forgot how low priced it was. I’ve already put 13 hours and mykids love watching the gameplay because of the funny characters and bright colors. This game has charm, Amazing mechanics, great story, Fun battle system, Well implemented roguelite and An amazing farm system (by the way i hate farming games in general) So get this one, you won’t regret this purchase)

Storm Lancers6
Sep 14, 2025
I’ll be honest, I bought it after watching the direct and expected a kind of contra experience, But something is missing from this game. It is 100% not a 10/10. So these reviews are either paid for or it’s people who don’t play many games. I’ve been playing since the NES era, I’m 39 going on 40 so these used to be a dime a dozen, And this one is fun don’t get me wrong! And an incredible cinematic to start, but that’s where the Saturday morning cartoon vibe stops. The main character has ackward movement and the level structure is questionable. It’s like it tried to be in the metroidvania side of things, But if you’re into compilation run and gun with roguelike mixed into it (1 life until you get upgrades then start all over more powerful)
I would wait for a sale unfortunately

Not a bad game by any means! But there’s something that’s severely…lacking. I feel like the game (for being a roguelite) wants me to go its route and the way it feels for me to be able to make it through an entire run. I feel at $20 it’s too much for the game itself, But I found it for $4.99 on an eshop sale which was aprice fitting for a game of this scope. I’m a huge fan of roguelites and the music being incredible can only take you so far, also doesn’t seem to be overly long. I’m an hour in and have gotten pretty far, Unless there’s something I’m missing here I would wait for the sale

Shinobi: Art of Vengeance10
Sep 2, 2025
I’ve been playing the shinobi series since I was 5 years old, Although it took me years to beatthe revenge of shinobi (thanks to the infinite shriuken trick on the genesis/mega drive) as well as shadow dancer, Refurn of shinobi, legions, And even the dreadfully difficult and rage inducing shinobi (and its legacy sequel nightshade) on the ps2 which is the first time I quit on the series and didn’t go back for years. I came back on the 3DS one and got back on it with what makes the game so spectacular and incredibly infuriating, Now with my history out of the way with the series (so you can see I know what I’m speaking of here) Comes Shinobi art of vengeance which was developed by the incredible streets of rage 4 team over at SEGA, And let me tell you this is as CLOSE as you’ll get to perfection in not only a shinobi title, But 2D platforming, Boss fighting, Metroidvania title as you’re ever going to get. The amount of love and Easter eggs for fans that they’ve left trails of here is absolutely mind blowing. The physics are phenomenal, His movements are great and the graphics are some of the most amazing animation I’ve ever seen in a project, I literally stop to just take a look at the scenery (it’s honestly jaw dropping)
I’ve seen some reviews here complaining about the difficulty spikes and that they’re past shinobi players. If you truly are a past shinobi player THIS IS ONE OF THE EASIEST IN THE SERIES, There’s even accessibility options if it’s too tough for you. They give you more movement and freedom that the series has ever had, Whiners **** you’re new to the series this is an amazing place to start (fair warning though it’ll be hard to go back to the earlier titles after this one, especially the Saturn version, it’s Mortal Konbat style with real human characters and super cornball but still fun)
Give this one your time, and honestly for what the asking price is it’s fully worth the money. I was so let down by ninja gaiden Ragebound with its Clunky movements and animation, Itnwas distracting, Slow, And did a forced character switch that hurt as much as raiden on metal gear solid 2. This one is honestly as close to perfect as it gets. I haven’t ran into 1 single bug or glitch, in 2025 that’s a crazy accomplishment. I could keep going but you catch my drift here, Purchase it and thank me later! And to the new players who have never played before because they were too young or just never owned a sega console, Welcome 🫡

THE HOUSE OF THE DEAD 2: Remake5
Aug 9, 2025
Well, It’s finally here! House of the dead 2 the remake on Nintendo switch, And ****’s so subpar They’ve patched a lot of the initial complaints but something feels so incredibly half baked with this game. I put the original remake to see if it was just me, But it wasn’t. This one has worst graphics and the framerate can slow way down when you have more than a few creatures on screen, The dialogue is god awful but that’s one of the best parts! It’s unchanged from the original, And honestly I’m glad this game exists.
Why? Because 3, 4 and overkill are next in line and all those games are much (MUCH) better. This one has terrible music, Terrible dialogue, And it looks like the color orange threw up on the screen. For some reason everything looks oxidized, But it’s fun in a low budget kind of way. On the switch 2 it runs fine, But we will see once the “current gen” version comes out what the improvements and additions are, This game could move used more QOL improvements, But…at least we got something, And for the price of aMcDonald’s meal with a happy meal for your kid, You could do worse. 5/10

Clair Obscur: Expedition 3310
May 2, 2025
I preordered this game hoping to have a bit of an upgraded version of the of school final fantasy experience, I didn’t expect tears during the story and such a fleshed outgaming experience with beautiful designs, beautiful worlds, Characters that make you fall in love with the lore, Music that I’d buy the official soundtrack to just to listen to while working…
This is the first game in a LONG time I honestly have very little negative to say
My only negative is the obvious lack of a map when going into the subsections from the overworld (which does include a map?)
I get it that they say no expedition has completed the travel so there is no map, but once you understand to follow the lights to get to where you need to be and go into the darkness for the hidden stuff you still end up a little lost a few times but nothing major.
I can’t knock it down a point for that because it’s so minimal compared to the overall experience. Beautiful visuals with characters you care for and a plot twist pretty early on that’ll shock you to your core! (Sorry I won’t post spoilers)
This is a true gaming experience and one that shouldn’t be missed. An absolute masterpiece in gaming and incredible to think a team of 30 made this game when teams of 400 can’t get the big games right. Absolute legends, hats off to you and can’t wait for your next project. WELL DONE. 10/10

Blazing Strike2

Credit where credit is due, The sprites in the game are great and look a lot like the game that inspired it (Street fighter 3) And the fact that one individual made this game is what let me hold on the physical limited edition copy (which is beautiful by the way especially everything it brings)
However…that’s about where the positivity ends. I love supporting independent devs and try and purchase as many games as possible (especially in physical form) But man…The fighting would be great but the input lag from controller to tv (I have a 4K OLED tv on game mode) and it takes several seconds for the inputs from the controller to go on screen. The game has a story mode that (without warning) DOES NOT SAVE YOUR PROGRESS. You need to leave? Too bad you either beat it in 1 sitting or you start it all over. The text on the screen doesn’t match the aesthetics, The story is forgettable (but honestly that doesn’t bother me) It’s the fact that there’s a stamina bar for running and when it depletes you’re openly available for a barrage of attacks. It’s completely bare bones and honestly there’s no reason to even go back to the game once you’ve beaten it. No individual arcade character stories, The music is not good at all especially when you pause, I’ve been playing fighting games for 35 years of my life and I was so excited for this game, I found it strange that a 2D sprite fighter would release at $40 but thought that there would be plenty of options or a ton of modes or individual stories to hold you over, it doesn’t. Online is a ghost town, It’s just terrible. The fighting could’ve been great had it taken a little more time (it was already delayed over a year) but honestly the artwork is beautiful and the physical edition (limited edition) is very Nice but that’s about where the compliments end. I wish I had better things to say about this but I would save my money, hopefully the dev gets the next one right. 2/10

Valkyrie Elysium7

Let me start off by saying this game is 100% NOT for everyone. It’s linear (with some exploration allowed) and it does have collectibles and incentive to do levels over again in different chapters for ranking and to find all hidden collectibles, It has a hub world that slowly opens up as you progress as well.
When I first tried this game as a new release I absolutely hated it. I was expecting a high caliber RPG and I was severely dissapointed so I returned it. 2 years later I purchasethe physical copy new for $14.99 and while it still does look like a decent ps3 title I have to say once you start getting into the game itself it’s pretty great. The dialogue isn’t corny it’s right for the setting and time period, The story is fantastic, the combat is fun and unique, it’s 1 of a kind and hard to explain so it’s a more try it yourself kind of situation. Don’t come in to this expecting Final fantasy or even romancing saga, It’s great in its own right and should’ve come out as a lower price since it’s by all means an “indie” budget title, but all in all aside from shoddy graphics the game is fantastic if a bit on the way too short side for an RPG 7.8/10. Try it for the right price

Giving this game a 2, it’s my second time ever leaving a game such a bad review, I’ll give it higher than a 1 because they tried making an “open stage” game but the way they go about it is plain as day bad. No real direction on where to go, And I’m not all about graphics but my wife was playing the ps3 andbeyond two souls from 2011 looks much more detailed then a game that launched in late 2023. I paid $14.99 for the game and I fully regret **** has a good story behind the terrible gameplay, Distracting ugly graphics, horrible open stage format and strictly linear events, You’re better off continuing life by skipping this one, Sorry devs this is just terrible, even by indie standards (I love independent games more than AAA games when they’re done right) 1.5/10

Arrest of a stone Buddha6
Dec 30, 2024
It’s a cold game that cares not about your feelings. It’s a title that asks for a lighter to throw the cigarrete back at your face and burn you with it. It requires a lot of patience and trial and error, because after the introduction of 40 seconds you will die, again and again. It’s repetitive and if it was just difficult it wouldn’t bug me but it’s damn Unrelentless at times.Behind the shootout there’s hidden puzzle mechanics and strategy, it’s not river city random but it’s does borrow the aesthetics. If you’re here for a good time and nota long time and want to be challenged on your skills then by all means visit the stone Buddha, be cautious with that cigarette though

Diesel Legacy: The Brazen Age8
Dec 6, 2024
Great indie title with beautiful and detailed graphics in a brand new hybrid of fighting game/beat em up. It incorporates a 3 lane fighting system (Back, Center and front) and really lets you strategize with certain opponents. It’s a small roster at 10 playable characters as of this review, but for a game done on a small budget through maximum games (which usually only publishes for Nintendo) this game has an immersive story mode, crazy online matches that don’t even end when you’re defeated (you can fight as a ghost) and then some. At the price point it’s out for physical release (it’s how I purchased it) and at $29.99 (less for digital at this moment) it’s well worth your time! 8.5/10

CYGNI: All Guns Blazing2
Aug 11, 2024
I preordered this game in june of 2023, all the way to release date in August 2024, And I can’t begin to explain the utter disappointment of this convoluted mess. It’s a game that has very nice graphics and mobile game cutscenes (half Pixar half realism) but the game throws you into the fire and doesn’t hold your hand whatsoever. I’m all for that I’ve been playing Sh’mups since the NES era but this game has to be one of the biggest personal failures I’ve ever played.Your ship looks like a laser beam when it’s not shooting towards enemies, The backgrounds integrate with the enemy ships, It doesn’t start off slowly to let you get a handle on things it starts on 100 and for the first level alone you have 2 mini bosses that are the furthest thing from easy and a third one that’s going to obliterate you. Normal is hard/insane difficulty on most Sh’mups and easy is a normal/hard variant. konami made some bold claims with this game saying it’s the best sh’mup ever made and will forever change the landscape of the genre, maybe it’s my fault for ever believing in Konami again but folks don’t waste your hard earned money on this. The pretty graphics wear off after 2 minutes. What I have is not a skill issue, I’ve beaten Ikagura on the hardest setting, I’ve conquered many shooters in my life, But this is one that I beat the first stage (Which by the way goes on for about 15-20 minutes) and they say the final stage goes on for about an hour, and it’s 1 life. No checkpoints, no story per se, nothing here. Konami still tries to fool us all, Don’t give em your money. The 2 rating is the whole A for effort but F for execution, and the graphics. But the slowdowns that occur, the 60fps hard lock, the screen being a mess, overlong stages, no checkpoints, boring enemies that just respawn over and over again, this is going right back to Amazon. Shame

I honestly can’t believe this is a Sony published title. I get that it was a ps3 title that was followed up on 7 years later with minimal improvements, But playing on a ps5 makes it look and feel atrocious. Games such as Devil may cry (ps2,ps3, ps4) and bayonetta have aged like fine wine, This has aged as well as using a ford pinto in 2024. The story is minimal unless you came to read chapters of a book before gameplay “for the lore”. The move set is basic and does get interesting once you beat the “monsters” as you unlock more potential for your character it’s honestly over a couple of hours after that. It’s a game I decided to check out in 2024 since I missed it back in ps3, and I gave it 3 and a half hours which was surprisingly enough long enough to beat it, It’s…not good, not good at all. Best thing it’s gor going for it is that it’s a quick experience. Hard pass

Avatar: The Last Airbender - Quest for Balance7
Jan 11, 2024
Let me start by saying that I’m an adult in my 30’s, I know GameMill puts out shovelware more often than not, But this game is decent! It’s not great by any stretch of the imagination but the graphics are nice to look at and imitate the cartoon series pretty well, The bugs have been mostly patched and this is the type of game you wait for a sale on. I got it at $14.99 and I honestly have no regrets. Reminds me of a PS2 era game which is compliment! Not every game needs to be AAA and have huge budgets behind them. I’m not on Team GameMill, I’ve bought their products before and have been SEVERELY let down (Cobra Kai 2 and GI Joe I’m looking at you) but this game is definetly not the 2 or 3’s it’s been given. It’s simplistic in nature but the puzzles get a bit tricky as time goes on and it’s fun to figure them out! Only bad part is the unfortunate **** feels completely baked in and clunky. You can tell that combat was the afterthought in the game, Also I wish they would’ve had a more cgi approach to the cutscenes, I’d even take the in game engine graphics with dialogue for the cutscenes rather than the still scenes that we got. All in all the game is at the very least a 6.. At most a 7.5 (due to mostly combat) abut if you’re a fan of the property make sure to get it on sale and know what to expect and you should be in for a decently good time. Length of Game is 10-12 hours without completing all objectives and doing many side missions. Try it out for yourself!

Space Roguelike Adventure8
Oct 19, 2022
Awesome little Indie title. It’s standard stuff, But done very well. The graphics are retro pixel art, The stages are Metroidvania and a bit of find the key to unlock the door, It’s funny that roguelike is in the title, I personally find it more RogueLITE, as you keep your upgrades and don’t have to start all over if you don’t make it till the end. It’s a decent 3-4 hour game. The music is highly forgettable, I can’t even remember a track off the top of my head, But for $5 you can do much MUCH worse. If you’re into roguelite, Want an independent studio title with a game made by 1-2 people and are ballin on a budget, This game is for you. My score is based on what you get for the price. All in all 8.2/10

Was so excited for this game. I’m a HUGE fan of the persona series, I love Shin megami tensei games from 2 all the way till current ones, I even like Tokyo Mirage FE which is an amazing spin off, However..This one from the very beginning I knew it would be tremendous trouble. First off the file size on the series X is a whopping 1.8gb…Let that soak in, For what’s labeled as an “RPG” i don’t need beautiful graphics in a game to find things to love about them, But there is NOTHING salvageable about them. Ugly character designs with HORRIFIC level layouts filled with generic crates. It wants to be Persona so bad that it fails to find its own identity, It feels like a different Developer and publisher tried to imitate the success of the persona series and fell flat on its face, Save your money and look elsewhere because honestly, This game could’ve passed as a digital only title for $20 and I still would’ve felt a bit cheated. Maybe the crowd under 18 would enjoy this, But for my 35 year old self it’s a HARD pass. Only reason I gave it a 3/10 was because the music wasn’t terrible. But, I mean, if that warrants a purchase in your eyes then you’re better off going on YouTube and listening to the soundtrack. Worst Atlus game in the last 20 years. Sheesh.

Mario Strikers: Battle League4
Jun 13, 2022
The absolute most barebones game Nintendo has EVER published. I complained about Mario golf on the switch and that was PACKED with content compared to this. 8 characters, 5 stadiums, No campaign mode, Bare bones multiplayer mode where everyone is going to pick the same characters over and over and battle the same characters over and over. Amazing graphics and fun gameplay but, skip this one at least until Nintendo delivers on what it’s promising (more characters, stadiums, power ups, items to buy, etc) This is completely unnaceptable. Nintendo has to stop charging us Full price for a game with 2 hours worth of content, if they don’t change their strategy I’m done with their sports titles. They’ve gotten worse each release. Shame on you Nintendo, your fans deserve better. This AINT IT. 4/10 as it’s stands for now, maybe in a year things will change. Hopefully.

Samurai Shodown: Special Edition9
May 4, 2022
Samurai shodown is an amazing little game with unfortunate lack of content for Single player modes. It’s easy to learn, Hard to master technique isn’t for everyone. If you like a fighting game that rewards patience instead of button mashing, Unarming your rivals at the correct moment just to slice off body parts and plenty of “Movie like” moments demonstrating your kill move then look no further than this game. Each character has their own beginning, Middle and Endgame storylines and post credits scene. They’re basic but good enough that you don’t exactly want to skip it. The visuals are exactly the same on the series X as they were when I had it on the ps4, The major difference (HUGE difference) is the loading times. What an improvement! It’s why I upgraded in the first place. I’m not the biggest SNK fan but as I’ve gotten older I’ve gotten to appreciate their games more and more. Each time I’ve gotten the game it’s been on sale. I don’t reccomend it as a $60 purchase since there id not enough content but at $30 it hits the sweet spot. Buy it for the Fighting, Stay for the characters. Story 3/5. Graphics 4/5 Sound 5/5 Move set 5/5. Final score 8.5/10
