Dragon Age: The Veilguard0

This game's characters are the ugliest I've seen in a very long time. That alone would be enough to keep me away. Add to that the asinine character dialogue, cultural appropriation and blatant pandering to the non-existent modern audience, and you have this disaster masquerading as a Dragon Age game.

The story is solid, but the gameplay is where its at. Every button press feels exhilarating. About 5 hours in and having a blast with it.

Skull and Bones is a game that promises high-seas adventure but delivers nothing but disappointment. From the get-go, you're thrown into a world that feels more like a chore than a thrilling pirate escapade. First off, let's talk about the gameplay mechanics - or lack thereof. Combat feels clunky and unresponsive, as if you're fighting with a rusty cutlass instead of a sleek pirate sword. Ship controls are equally frustrating, with navigation feeling more like trying to steer a sinking vessel than a nimble pirate **** perhaps the biggest letdown of Skull and Bones is its lack of originality. The game shamelessly borrows elements from other, better pirate games like Assassin's Creed: Black Flag, but fails to capture any of the charm or excitement. It's like they took all the worst parts of those games and mashed them together into one uninspired mess. And don't even get me started on the story. Or lack thereof. You're thrown into a world with little explanation or motivation, left to wander aimlessly from one forgettable quest to the next. It's as if the developers couldn't be bothered to craft a compelling narrative to accompany their lackluster **** the end, Skull and Bones is a prime example of style over substance. Sure, the graphics may be pretty, but what good is a shiny coat of paint when the game underneath is rotten to the core? Save your doubloons and steer clear of this sinking ship.

Interesting story that is delivered in a lazy manner (mostly still images of people talking). CInematics are cool, but there's far too few of them. Combat is interesting when it works, but getting stun-locked by most attacks **** for a system that tries to be fluid and fast-paced. Not being able to animation-cancel for dodges is also a huge detriment. Only managed to get through 7 hours before uninstalling from how bored and frustrated I was. Will probably watch a youtube playthrough to see the story though.
