The first 2-3 hours and my first playthrough was just a snoozefest. The twists of the game are cool, though, but I ended up just watching a YouTube spoiler because the "game" portion is just not fun. In my first playthrough, I had 0 fun, not a single second. I know I'm in the minority, but I didn't like how the story just drags on for hours before anything interesting happens (which it does so don't mischaracterize what I'm saying). Cool twist, but for me it wasn't worth the extremely slow build-up.

Sleeping Dogs: Definitive Edition8

The graphics are incredible for the era that this game came out. The fun factor is top-notch. The story is compelling, with a very fun world to explore. Combat has a lot of cool options. The game can be a bit buggy with NPCs ping-ponging all over the map and cars rubber banding, which knocks the score down a tad bit.

Crysis 2 Remastered8

This game is so much better than crysis 1 which I found to be incredibly repetitive in terms of environments and gameplay. Crysis 2 has better overall gameplay, maps, diversity of assets and combat. Whlie Crysis 1 made the franchise famous, Crysis 2 is miles ahead of Crysis 1. The game runs decently well on my average gaming laptop (1060 gtx) but looks very nice. i was pleasantly surprised about how much fun I had with this game. I think switching from a generic island to a big city was a major plus. The city feels lived in and makes the environment feel real. The shooting feels really nice while each weapon feels uniquely it's own. This was definitely one of the better shooters I have played in a while.

The Last of Us Part I2

The original game was a 10/10 but since the gameplay in the PS5 version is exactly like the original and all you get are slightly improved graphics (not even mind-blowingly better, just moderately better) I don't see the price vs value as being worth it. This is a below-average game because the remake was pretty lazy.

Diablo II: Resurrected3

The game was an all-time great by standards of the year the original came out. However, by 2021 standards this version starts to show its age. The updated graphics are nice but they aren't mindblowing and therefore can't hold this mediocre game up on its own. Movement is incredibly slow and janky. This affects combat which is not nearly as fluid as Diablo 3 (in its current form). It feels very robotic and just not nearly as fluid in comparison. The limited number of inventory slots will begin to annoy you almost immediately. Purest that demanded everything be exactly the same as the original except for improved graphics screwed over the rest of us. This game would've been better served as a complete remake giving the development team of today free reign to make necessary improvements. A graphics overhaul can't save this game sadly.

If a 10 is an all-time great game. A 9 is a game of a the year candidate. And a 5 is an average game that would cause about half of people to give up on without ever finishing. This game is a 7. The story is average and doesn't really move the over all gears plot as a whole forward until the final cut scene. The characters are likeable and there are alot of funny momements with intersquad banter (Marcus really like growing tomatoes) but beyond that the characters aren't really interesting. Marcus is back and hes as bad ass as ever almost to a fault but he does show some sadness and caring towards the end that make him more relatable. The graphics for a 2016 game absolutely hold up. Its a huge leap foward from GoW 3. I think I'm in the minority that saw hiccups and stuttering every 30 minutes or so and 1-2 times my system froze causing me to restart and im playing on a modern high end gaming laptop. Still the scenery is diverse and the overal design of the world feels lived in and real. Game play is the same GoW formula of action reloading and cover system. However the enemy AI and tactics are so much better. You can't rely on staying behind a single wall anymore as enemies are programmed to rush you and put pressure on you while fortified. I really liked that new dynamic as it required constant movement and avoiding enemy fire by exposing yourself from time to time. Some of the new guns are a little too complicated to figure out how to use effectively despite me trying so I sadly couldn't use them a ton because I played on the hardest difficulty leaving little room for experimentation. I didn't try out PvP so I can't comment on that. Overall campaign mode was enjoyable but its a 1 time non-replayable endeavor.

I just finished the main campaign and I can say this is a fun but frustrating game. The basic hacking skills like spamming someones phone or ear piece work well and are a bit OP. The more complicated hacking skills like changing street lights etc are completely useless. I didn't use those skills even 1 time because there wasn't a need and they just weren't as well done as the original game strangely. Graphicly this game is gorgeous. As someone who lived in the Bay Area most of my life Ubisoft did an amazing job highlighting the key parts of the various cities. I felt like I was running and driving around home! On my laptop it ran pretty smoothly most of the time with hiccups in FPS here or there that minorly hampered the experience. At one point it glitched out during the mission complete cut scene and made me repeat a pretty long mission which was annoying. Mission types are pretty much rinse and repeat the same few types of mission and aren't nearly as creative at GTA 5. However, the characters were very likable and 100X better than Aiden Pearce. As a group they seemed like a real-world group of friends. The story was nothing to write home about. The villain was like a watered down Bond Villain in that he's intelligent, capable and taken seriously from start to finish rather than being made a full of like in some games. However, overall the game doesn't take itself too seriously with a lot of light hearted humor. Top to bottom this is an average-good game. Fun to knock out over a weekend and never touch again.

First off I always rate games using a normal distribution which is different than most people with 5-6 being extremely average based on the year it was released and genre and 1s and 10s being reserved for historically bad or good games. I can't give this game more than a 4 using that criteria. Visually the game is a somewhat appealing but nothing mind blowing. The vistas and scenes the developers made are pretty too look at for a brief moment but honestly I've seen better and the art style is no more better than Fable so its been done before. The game is extremely short clocking in at around 4 hours so for $5-$10 its worth it if have a free afternoon. I think I am the minority when I say I was not impressed by the simplistic story being told. It wasn't the way it was told because I enjoyed the mini cut scenes it was just that the story although heartfelt especially the ending but overall it just didn't pull me in due to the short length. Game play wise the are some serious glitches related to solving puzzles that had me pulling my heart out they were glaringly bad. The controls take some getting used to because you control 2 characters and at times can be extremely confusing and frustating. Over the course of the game you only get slightly more comfortable with the controls never feeling natural. Most of the time I felt I was going to release the wrong key and fall to my death unnecessarily. The puzzles themselves are very simple which didn't bother me but overall fun factor it was a snoozefest. Aside from a few cool puzzle dynamics related to NPC use specifically a giant troll there just weren't enough "wow this is cool" moments to make the experience memorable. Over all I would not recommend this game.
