Still cracks me up that Eve somehow managed to amass such controversy with so many games on steam being outright pornographic and no one ever seems to care. The nervous breakdowns revolving around this game will prove to be a moment of deep shame for this generation in the future I would guess. But of course I suppose being a red headed straight male that's something I *would* say, huh? Being from a group the DEI deems worthy of all prejudice(even if some of us are also disabled). That hypocrisy isn't getting old at all... anyway... With the scoffing out of the way....Stellar Blade is honestly fantastic from a gameplay standpoint. The story is only **** make... jokes) but it's good enough. Characters could've used a little bit more fleshing out but I don't find them as flat as som have(not... going... to make.... jokes... not... going... to make.... jokes). Seriously if you like games like Devil May Cry, Nier Automata or especially Bayonetta you're going to love Stellar Blade. The combat is ridiculously well refined. I can't believe this is Shift Up's first major release. Also despite being a metal guy I need to point out that the soundtrack/score is a straight up vibe that suits the game quite well. The only reason I'm not giving it a 10 is the story wasn't terribly original. It would be an 8 also but Eve is so hot she gets the game an extra point from me out of spite for the shrill, nonsensical outcry she undeservedly generated. Some of yall need to either make your own video games for your own kind using your owm IP's or just get your own hobbies all together.

From the perspective of someone who's first Final Fantasy game was Final Fantasy IV(meaning II on SNES)... i'm writing this review specifically in hopes to inspire old school FF fans to not sleep on this game. It is different, yes. Combat and skill tweaking: The combat is like a mix between Devil May Cry and Final Fantasy Stranger of Paradise. The way you tweak your character. Is also different. For one you can only customize/level up your character by the way. All other party members are fully NPC aside from your dog who you can give a few rudimentary commands to with the D-pad("sic em!" (Attack), "heal" (casts cure on you), "ravage" (juggles smaller enemies you're targeting). Combat starts off simple but gets pretty complex and crazy as you progress. You also don't get to summon whenever you want but when you do get to summon you assume full control of the summon and it's cool as hell. Spells are attached to summons according to element so you can only cast spells for the element aligned with the summon you're currently channeling but you can assign multiple summons that you switch through with L2(eventually). Combat is different but it's a blast and only becomes moreso as you progress. I do miss having a controllable party. I even miss the ATB system but that is gone(not forgotten. Persona and Dragon Quest still carry that torch as heavy hitter JRPG's) Story: The story is also different. But personally I love the story, it's really gritty and well written both with regard to characters, events and general worldbuilding. Which is good because this is the most story heavy, cutscene laden Final Fantasy game I've ever played and I've played all of them. It's so thick that it could have ruined the game if the story wasn't good but oh it is SO good! I haven't beaten it yet. But I'm a good ways in and the story is so good it's hard to turn the game off even if I'm hungry or my fingers need a break. There is pretty clearly inspiration drawn from more gritty fantasy stuff like Game of Thrones or The Witcher but of course this being a Final Fantasy game it's much more high fantasy than GoT. And lets hope it ends worlds better. Though at this point I'm entirely confident it will. It literally took me all of maybe an hour at to get invested in the story. Very well paced. I would have given this game an 8 for the combat and a 7 if the story was this thick but was garbage. Some things you WILL NOT like(and the reason I didn't give it a 10): *A lot of the treasure and loot you find is "meh" many times you'll trapse way off the beaten path cause you see a glint and it'll be a measley 5 gil(oh **** you had to get in a fight to get to it too. Best case scenario you find a new weapon. Which so far has just amounted to a higher atk power. No +poison or +silence or anything like that. Weapons are all cosmetic as well though. *Kind **** but some of the sidequests are kinda busyworkish outside of they serve to flesh out the world a bit and introduce you to(and give life to characters). Do them though. Some sidequests are way more important than others and you wont want to miss them both for the story and the additional wrinkles having done them can add to gameplay. I'd love to give a crucial example here but it'd be a major spoiler. *Not to state the obvious but even though FFXVI is amazing, there will be a part of you that misses the old school even as you love XVI. You will not like that but you will like what they're doing now. You'll miss the overworld map, the airships, job classes, the ATB. You'll miss all the stuff you've already been missing since XII but I think you gain a good bit more from XVI in exchange than you did from XIII or XV(didn't hate either of those but XIII came much closer than XV did to me hating it). If you're a Final Fantasy fan that's loved all the little interconnected threads that connected these otherwise vastly different games and worlds then you'd be doing yourself a disservice in skipping it. Side note. This game has the coolest version of Cid we've gotten since Final Fantasy VII. Individual aspect ratings: Gameplay........................8/10 Story.................................9/10 Score & voice acting...10/10 Graphics..........................9/10 Overall.............................9/10

TL:DR.... If you've ever cared about Doom before and you're even slightly interested in checking this out just stop waiting for the major publisher reviews to come out and go buy it. I would say at least rent it but you'll probably just buy it afterwards anyways and make the game a bit more expensive for yourself. This game is really hard to stop playing! I'll get that out of the way right now. That being said, it's very clear that id and Bethesda set out to replicate the style of game play seen in classic Doom and Doom 2 with the newest. They totally succeeded in my humble opinion. The demons will make you feel very claustrophobic with how they swarm you and to offset what would almost surely be a swift crushing of your soul you've got the glory kills which render you invincible long enough to violently dismember a staggered enemy and get health back. And the glory kills are very contextual too, it's not just one unique kill per enemy type, no, each enemy type has different glory kills but each enemy type has different glory kills according to where you're at in reference to them as well. It's kinda like how the stealth kills worked in Tenchu: Stealth Assassins.... Only they're typically done amidst absolute **** flow of combat is kinda like I'd expect carrying the world's largest bucket of water and dumping it on your head periodically as you run through a blazing fire to keep from being engulfed to feel like. The weapons come in at a steady pace and if you keep an eye out for secrets you'll have a formidable arsenal fast too. Everything's upgradeable, even right down to your suit, and the upgrades aren't just cheesy damage increases either. You can make your shotgun shoot explosive shells and you can mount a rocket launcher to your assault rifle to name a couple examples. I'm about five levels in so no I haven't beaten it yet but(that would **** if I had) I've seen enough to know how I'm going to feel about the game. It should also be said that I haven't touched the multiplayer, but I bought Doom for the campaign anyway as I imagine most of us probably did. Truthfully as good as the campaign is, if the multiplayer is only merely passable this game still earns an 9 in my book and I'll nail down exactly why that is right now. The game has brought back virtually everything I loved about the old school Doom games... AND they didn't ignore the creepy, dark atmosphere that made Doom 3 such an awesome(but unique)addition to the series either. Seriously, you even end up picking up those red, blue and yellow keycards. Which nobody cares about, I'm sure, but the point is that's the kind of attention to detail that went into making this game as faithful an addition to the Doom series as could be. Powerups, numeric health bar, numeric armor bar, full weapon arsenal(as opposed to only being able to carry two guns at a time), bloody, dark, visceral, creepy. I'd go as far as to say that if you've ever liked a Doom game before, any Doom game, you're gonna love this, unless maybe you were expecting an interactive movie cause this is all game. There is a story and it's a pretty cool one too but about 90% of it is found in the codex entries you pick up(everything's got a codex entry too, so there's plenty to learn about everything from your guns to the levels to each individual monster). This game is all game. Everything your character does, he does because your fingers told him to do it. That said, if you're expecting this game to be a clone of the Call of Battlefield formula we see so much of(don't get me wrong, I like em both but I resent the idea that every FPS has to follow that format) you're gonna be disappointed. This is Doom, through and through. No scripted Call of Duty stuff here. And judging from the pace of the revelations so far I'm guessing the campaign's gonna be pretty meaty in terms of length. So yeah, on the strength of the campaign alone it's worth it. If the multiplayer is even passable I'd even go up to a 9.5 score and as for the whole snapmap business? Sounds pretty robust to me. It does have a strong touch of old school flair about it, I'm not gonna lie, but how that's applied couldn't be more welcome. Well.... I hope you're getting the idea here. This is the kind of game I'm happy to give day one support to.

Tom Clancy's The Division

I've been a fan of Tom Clancy's games since back in the day so when I heard about them making an MMO style game set in a post apocalyptic type of world I was excited... So this morning when Target opened I was there buying my copy. Here's the deal. Don't compare this game to Destiny, are they similar? Yes, on a somewhat shallow level, but whereas Destiny takes a MUCH more fantasy sci-fi approach to the open world mmo(ish)rpg, The Division is Tom Clancy fare all the way, save for the fact that since it's an rpg you won't be one-shotting enemies faces until you get a decent weapon worthy of such prowess, whereas say, Rainbow Six or Ghost Recon was just about true to life in terms of how the fire fights went. I like to think that The Division tells the story of what would happen if Sam Fisher failed one of his missions. Anyway, on to the game. The Division is a machine in terms of mechanics. For the sort of game this is I hadn't expected quite as robust an RPG system as I got, which is awesome. The RPG elements of this game makes Fallout 4 look like Halo, seriously. There are abilities, there are talents and there are perks, seperate tiers and trees. And numbers everywhere! So keep that in mind, this is an RPG as much as it is a shooter. Which makes me very happy personally. As far as how it looks, well, it looks beautiful to be honest. The graphics and detail are nothing short of crispy. The matchmaking is easy to learn and work with and the game doesn't usually force you to be on a team in order to beat a mission either. I've been going solo-stealth for the most part with a silenced sniper rifle and a silenced AK and if you play smart(useful player tip, you can move from cover to cover in the same way you do in Gears of War, do that and you'll be doing yourself a big favor, don't expose yourself unnecessarily). From a technical standpoint I was VERY pleasantly surprised by the overall lack of bugs, glitches and crashes I've experienced on day one **** like this. It crashed once but when I started the game back up, expecting to have lost my mission progress, to my surprise the game picked up RIGHT where I was when it crashed, no farm no howl, all's well that ends well. I haven't done anything in the dark zone yet and I didn't get the beta so I can't comment on that but suffice it to say that if you've generally been a fan of the Tom Clancy video games, be it Rainbow Six, Ghost Recon or Splinter Cell, if you liked Mass Effect and wished to God they hadn't screwed up Alpha Protocol like they did then you're surely gonna like The Division. I'm officially addicted personally, and to kill that honestly senseless question, no, The Division hasn't killed Destiny any more than Destiny killed Borderlands, I'll still be playing Destiny(and Borderlands) too, totally different games, both awesome. Worth my sixty bucks(and I'm on disability so I don't get a lot of money, so that's sayin something), worth saving the money to buy it asap(like I said, I'd been waiting for this), it was worth buying it on day one to me. I'm happy and I think you will be too. They earned the 9 I gave it. New York needs shaving, get at it!

Fallout 4

I would love to give this game a 10 JUST to offset the scathing and woefully(and ignorantly)negative reviews. But I won't. I'm giving it an honest score. Just because some others have been unfairly AGAINST Fallout 4 doesn't mean I'm gonna be unfairly FOR it. These guys deserve better. Their praise will come HONEST. Let me just get this out of the way. I've got a pretty nice collection of GOOD xbox one games now. Despite this, Fallout 4 has been the ONLY game I've played since I went and picked it up. I got it the day after it came out. I expected to see a few ugly-ish bugs that would soon be fixed as seems to be Bethesda's M.O. To my surprise the bugs were mostly minimal. I couldn't manage to remove custom markers from the map and my companions had an annoying way of being right where I needed to go and blocking my path. Big deal. I sent Dogmeat back to Sanctuary to wait for some sort of patch and the markers? Well, who cares? That marker bug is now gone anyhow. I've loved the Fallout games since the original, I even liked Fallout Tactics which I did feel was a bit light on the story line and world immersion but I love the lore and world so much that that didn't matter. I love Fallout and I like tactical RPG's like FFT and Fire Emblem so yay! Anyways, to be clear, NO, Fallout is no longer what it was when Brian Fargo and Interplay dreamed it up. In some ways it's come a long way and in a few others it has regressed. I'd complain about that regression but A) Bethesda's Fallouts have been good even when they were bad(like New Vegas, I'll get to that in a minute) and B) If I miss the old school Fallout that much then I'll go to my computer and play it or I'll put in Wasteland 2: Director's Cut. Problem solved. So, Fallout 4. I was looking forward to Fallout 4(to put it mildly)ever since I finished the last Fallout 3 DLC, I had hoped that New Vegas would tide me over but it really didn't because New Vegas may have felt and looked like Fallout but the perks and quest rewards were way too bland. Caps and XP, that was the reward for EVERY quest in New Vegas. Hardly any unique weapons to find and the whole mystique of the Mohave wasteland was just, barely realized. Barely. For another game New Vegas was cool but for another Fallout game New Vegas was only passable at best. Enter Fallout 4, finally that moment to moment wonder I missed so much from Fallout 3 is back! The feeling I get when I enter a new area where I'm thinking "ooh, what am I gonna find in here? What wackiness is going to be going on?" That's back. Fallout actually has a sense of mystery and intrigue to it again! And there is ACTUALLY something to discover, like in Fallout 3, not false hope after false hope like New Vegas ultimately gave me. I liked New Vegas, don't get me wrong but it was a step backwards from Fallout 3. Anyways, sorry, my biggest gripe with Fallout 4 ISN'T the graphics(no, the graphics aren't GREAT but they ARE passable, especially considering the content of the game), it's the consolidation of the level up system. I liked raising skills and picking a perk. The skills are still there and so are the perks but consolidating the two is crappy I feel. Being able to hack "expert" level terminals and THAT'S IT being the single reward for a level up is a bit lame. "Oh, need to be able to pick locks but also need to be able to do more damage with a weapon type? Gee I'm sorry, pick one." No. Absolutomente no. Pros: -Exploration is fun, mysterious and rewarding again -Combat is fun as ever, much tighter FPS system this time around -much more lively mutant beasts this time. -HUGE world(whoever said you could travel this world in 10 minutes DID NOT play Fallout 4, that's B.S.) -Legendary enemies with legendary loot appears at random -modding system is diverse and awesome -being able to manually exit V.A.T.S. is awesome! Cons: -having no skills list is disappointing -Not QUITE as "next gen" as I had imagined, but it's still top notch -Companions can block your path, big problem during firefights -Crafting is complicated and not fully explained.... I don't play Fallout to build a dream house anyway. Conclusion: Fallout 4 is awesome. If anything I think this is a good example of why over-hyping a GOOD game can be a bad thing for the game. The amount of hype that Fallout 4 got had me just about expecting it to be able to spawn a real life Mr. Handy that'd wash my dishes and make me macaroni and cheese and a milkshake. Even I feel a strange sense of disappointment that that's not the case, and I knew it wouldn't be. If you've liked the Fallout games then get this and watch yourself not regret it. However, if you want a hardcore tactical RPG type of experience rather than a post nuclear apocalyptic open world that's actually INTERESTING to steal your life away until this spring then I'd suggest Divinity: Original Sin Enhanced Edition or Wasteland 2: Director's Cut because this game isn't as RPG-ish as the old school Fallouts are.

I just bought this game from Ebay. First of all, not to worry. The expiration date for the two downloads was extended to 3/31/16 so you'll still get the PSP games if you buy it new. Wouldn't count on that if the game's used though. Onward. If you like fantasy/mythology stuff with a dark, gritty story then the value in this game is amazing. I only bought it for God of War 3 and for the PSP games because I've never played them but I still own the PS2 versions of God of War 1 and 2. However, even though I own them I'm still glad I have them for PS3 because they're ported in HD and as any gamer knows, games that weren't made in HD look pretty poopy on an HD display. Even if they used to look great(like the Onimusha games). If you DON'T like the premise of the game's plot or theme then these games may not be for you. The combat system, while good; is pretty basic. While it DID revolutionize the melee focused action genre(you see God of War's influence in everything from the Ninja Gaiden remake for Xbox all the way up to Darksiders and... well, pretty much every melee action game nowadays) now it's nothing you haven't seen before. But keep in mind that that's because God of War's fighting mechanics have been aped a billion times in other games. But the story is top notch if it's the kind of thing you're into. I did experience some broken audio while trying to play God of War III but I was downloading the two PSP games at the time and I'm thinking/hoping that may have affected my system's ability to read the disc. If you like the God of War games or like the what you see of the style and setting then for how much you can get this set nowadays it's a total steal. I own an xbox one now and I'm STILL loving this(although I'm a gamer and I still play my PS1 games).
