Evangelion: 3.0+1.0 Thrice Upon a Time10
Aug 19, 2021
After a decent but disappointing third film in the Rebuild series, Hideaki Anno bounces back with may be the best Evangelion film and, definitely, the best ending.

Captain America: Civil War9
May 6, 2016
i've seen this movie two times already and i believe it is the best superhero movie ever, up there with TDK and TDKR. The movie has a more serious tone but it doesn't keep it from being fun, unlike other superhero movie released this year. Definitely go see this film.

Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens7
Dec 18, 2015
Not much character development, a lack of drama and too fast-paced for it's own good, Star Wars: The Force Awakens is saved by the engaging action and good performances to make up for the narrative flaws. Plus i want to mention how this movie is essentially a New Hope remake, it follows the same basic structure and it feels like you have seen it already.

Mad Max: Fury Road10
Sep 9, 2015
Mad Max Fury Road is the best film of 2015, and maybe even the best action film of the decade so far. Tom Hardy and Charlize Theron both do great as Max and Furiosa, the protagonists. Although Mel Gibson was perfect as Max, he isn't missed here cos' Hardy is spot-on. Inmortan Joe makes for a great villain and is actually developed, unlike recent action films like Avengers: Age of Ultron or Ant-Man (The latter one was great, though). The film is brillantly directed by George Miller, who also wrote the script. The pacing is great. Really surprised by this one, it's already on Blu-Ray, so buy it or rent it, and enjoy!

Fright Night7
Aug 12, 2015
It's really cheesy, but if you can overlook that, you'll find a solid film with a great performance by Colin Farrell. As for the CGI, i must say is decent for a 30+ million budget, just lower your expectations, don't expect to see 200+ million dolars CGI.

Fantastic Four4
Aug 8, 2015
Fantastic Four it's a failed experiment. It started great, then started to get repetitive on the middle, then the ending ****. The film's one and only action scene is awful and this is made worse by the fact that it was really short (1 or 2 minutes). I couldn't even imagine a 100 minutes superhero movie with only 1 minute of action, it blows my mind. Also, there's a lack of consequences -nobody cares about the events, the dialogue, nothing- so it's hard to relate to the characters. As for the villain, Dr. Doom lacks screen time and development, even if the actor does the best he can with what he's been given. The cast is great, but they can't save this film. Still, the movie tries it's best to do something original, and that's something i love.

The Road Warrior9

A thrilling piece of filmaking, this effective action film also has a heart, one of the reasons to why this bizarre movie works. Mel Gibson it's a hell of a badass in this one, he has charisma, and effectively portrays the Max character, who, by the way, grows as a character in this one. But he doesn't carry the film on it's own, George Miller it's back, and his direction is fast-paced and thrilling, but keeping the characters. The only negative side of this film, for me, it's the Feral Kid, but luckily some scenes save this character from being an annoyance. If you liked the first Mad Max, you're going to be amazed by how this one improves on the first one, which is already a great movie.

Jurassic World8
Jul 3, 2015
Clearly the best film i've seen this year in theaters (Holy **** i've seen so many bad films this year, like Avengers 2), Jurassic World it's a thrilling film. The acting is solid, Chris Pratt knows how to make a good lead and Bryce Howard gives a good performance. The story is good, mostly because it's focused and don't feel overstuffed. The visuals are amazing, because of a solid direction by Colin Trevorrow. The score is perfect. with both the old theme song and a new, thrilling one. If you liked Jurassic Park, but felt that there could be a little more action on that film, go see this one.

Interstellar5
May 31, 2015
Interstellar really disappointed me. While i was expecting a smart, entertaining sci-fi flick, what i saw was a boring, predictable and emotionless mess. It is really overlong, with a middle-chapter so predictable and boring that's frustrating. Tho, i must say it has got his moments but they're mostly courtesy of the awesome cast. In conclusion, if you haven't watched any sci-fi movie, you gonna like it, but if you have seen films like Alien, Sunshine or 2001, you're bound to be disappointed, mostly because of the awful story.

Calvary9

Surprising film, i must say. Those who aren't interested in this movie because of the religion, i must say, watch it!. It has got a really nice script, fine visuals, good music and, most importantly, a exceptional performance by Brendan Gleeson as the protagonist, Father James. A really surprising film about heavy themes that ends up being not heavy to watch at all.
