Colossal waste of money; I was almost offended that so much was spent for so little. Action, action, action with marginal plot often less than credible even for an action movie where it's fun to suspend reality. I can only compare this movie to fast food that doesn't even feel good while you're eating it but you have to finish it anyway.

My main thought while watching this movie was: What a waste of money! All this cartoon violence for what purpose? Not that action films need to be anything more than fun. Clearly, the filmmakers were trying to say something to bring it above an average action flick. They failed.

This movie is a gore fest. Violence without any meaning. The spooky music tries to say something is happening but nothing that a human being could relate to. This is the kind of movie where you feel angry that you have lost 2 hours of your life.

Gritty movie with cool dialogue and excellent acting. Certain mesmeric quality to this tale of retrieving captives from cave dwellers. My level of involvement was surprising given the simplicity of the story. Director knew how to build tension that grew out of your identification with the characters.

Only went to see movie cause wife wanted to. So many stereotypes, excessive brutality and sadism without sufficient redeeming purpose. It's a significant story historically but uncreative, humdrum approach to the subject. Acting of main character is excellent but even then it doesn't feel true feels like a movie made for some "noble" purpose. I prefer Django Unchained because at least it doesn't try to pretend to be something it isn't.

I liked it as a workplace comedy. Over the top, for sure, but it kept my interest in its wackiness. In a movie world of sameness, this stood out as different without crossing the line into prurience or exploitation. How people cope in an office environment and the decisive role that managers play was something I related to and found interesting.

Middle class pap, trite, and hackneyed. Basically about one reprehensible guy who struggles with his addictions. If you would like to see Denzel drinking, smoking, and snorting without any larger message then this is the movie for you. Basically a movie devoid of meaning except for a nice, safe upbeat end which, in my mind, is the hallmark of something below even a B-movie.

This is a "bad seed" movie that is done so intricately and thoughtfully that its impact stays with you for a good while. What I found interesting is that the filmmaker took a well-worn subject and played with it without making it a story of bad and good. The acting is excellent and, as a parent, it hit me on a deeper level about fears we have for our children, while exploring the frustration experienced when dealing with a child's problematic behavior or defects in a child's character.
