Very clearly a wannabe Darkest Dungeon that tries to copy it in almost every way (right down to many of the EXACT same curios) but it is not nearly as good at any of them. It is a very small game and fairly short While I am predisposed to like a DD clone this game fails badly in 2 ways; first the NPCs in your party are static, they cannot level' secondly and most importantly, RNG dominates this game and includes actual survival in that you REQUIRE campsites to survive the dungeons yet you can go through several dungeons that lack any and therefore you will die to frostbite with no ability to do anything but start the level over.....disgusting take on "roque-like:!

Firstly, I game for RPG's, so its crushing for me to rate this studios latest effort so low; I have never rated an RPG lower than a 5. With Xbox money behind them now I was hoping they could join the 3 AAA RPG devs out there (Gearbox, Bethesda and Bioware), so there would be more than 1 great RPG every couple years; unfortunately only Obsidian has/ can make that leap as I find no redeeming qualities here. Semi-pro: Reasonably lengthy campaign (hard to speedrun a game with combat as bad as this is in the beginning; although they do provide the option of turning off the rubbish puzzles which are literally everywhere). Classes each have defined skillsets. Cons: The music is the worst I have ever encountered outside a jRPG; I had to shut it off completely as it was constant and annoying. The game aims for 4th-wall breaking comedy which simply comes off as very childish and not humorous in the least; there was no way for me to become immersed in this game, nor was I entertained; lose-lose. I love turned-based combat; this take on it was god awful. The game was not designed for direct combat rather they simply want you to move the characters (yours and the enemies) around the grid until you win. At level 1-3 you have around 10 hitpoints yet you are constantly fighting enemies with 20-60 hitpoints. It becomes more balanced as you gain powers but the routine never changes. The story is utterly forgettable. Forgive me for thinking they wanted to make a puzzle game and not an RPG as there are more puzzles than combat encounters....seriously. IMO, even for PC-Kickstarter shovelware, this game is a fail. Here's hoping this was the B team and the A team is was working on Wasteland 3!

I was excited for this game to come to console. I am a huge old-school D&D/ RPG fan and with the comparisons of this game to D:OS, which launched at the same time on PC, I couldn't wait for this to port. D:OS was in my top 4 favorite games of 2015 with Fallout, Witcher and Tomb Raider.....have more than 500 hours in it. Based on my score you can tell I was sadly disappointed.....D:OS is a vastly better game. In its defense I note that it does offer a reasonably large world with many NPCs, stories, quests, etc. That said, the only true positive to me was this is an actual **** have significant/ meaningful ability to customize your character..... ....it all goes down hill from there....firstly, as with all games that are made for PC, it is done on a shoestring budget....there is no such thing as even a AA pc game....there is no polish **** games like D:OS that have depth and charm easily make up for it. While you can pick sex, race, class, background, ect, all of it has very little meaning as.... ....almost all weapons/ armor are virtually identical bland **** may literally be playing with the same weapon/ armor in hour 50 you were using in hour 5....massive fail ...worse, the other gear (ring, helmet, neck, gloves, etc.) all come with buffs, but none stack, so you wind up buffing stats you never **** there is a plethora of some items, and a dearth f others, so you pray to the rng gods that you get a different buff in a different piece or its meaningless... ....being a wizard/ monk/ cypher, etc would be great..except all the spells are terribly **** can pick 2 spells each level and I truly struggled to pick one each time... ....combat is beyond boring...because the weapons and spells hardly improve throughout the game, combat takes **** **** can either try to micromanage 6 characters in real time or just sit back and wait 10 minutes for the fight t resolve and then do it all over again... ...while there are tons of questlines, I found none **** joke, I fell asleep playing this game more times than almost all other games in the last few years combined....have energy drinks ready! Sigh, horribly sad; going to play D:OS again just to wash the taste of this game from my **** wait for D:OS2 to some out :(

I will start by saying this game is a lot of fun; it's a lazy fun, but still fun. At its core the game is a farming sim that takes market economics into account. Exploring the map to find and capture new slimes is good fun. The visuals, gameplay mechanics and gameplay loop are solid; if this game was built on an indie budget, it does not show in the ways I expect a game that launches on pc to look or play...really pleasant surprise. While this game was fun for an adult gamer, I have to think kids would really enjoy it. For an adult gamer however, the reason I can't rate this game more highly is that ultimately it is played solely for the loop; outside of the loop of explore, find slimes, pen/feed/ combine slimes, sell slimes....there is no further **** story **** reason for doing what you're doing.....building a farm to....build a **** is one of the few games I can think of where the Achievements are the point to the game, they are the goal.....that's unfortunate in a game this fun.

If I had a scale that I rated solely indie/ small scope video games on, I would likely give this an 8, but I am cursed with judging all games **** games. Enjoyed the turned-based combat and thought the colors of the world were brilliant. The story and characters started off in the first hour or so as charming and engaging, but the more the more characters that were added and recognizing that all dialogue as silly rhymes was not just a brief episode, made this game, for me, quite boring/ irritating; it had a decent, if derivative, story which would have been much better through normal dialogue than that **** ultimately that was the experience I had and that I will remember from this game......damn shame.

In truth I would give this game a 5.5, but I couldn't round up as this game, on the whole, is not worth a 6. Bigger picture this is 2 completely separate games, with the first 1/2 being a semi-open world, with the traditional fetch quests and the 2nd half being a linear, brief, story-driven QTE-fest. The first part I enjoyed as an average adventure game (this game is only nominally an RPG) and if you enjoy fetch quests (I do) and light exploration, this game wasn't bad. Combat can be fun, but is also very easy and can simply be holding down 1 button; you can approach it in different ways, but it is not necessary in any way. The cons about this part of the game is that, even though the footprint is pretty small, it takes time to traverse the map because the travel options take forever; one imagines this was done to give the game a bigger feel. Travelling by car, while faster than foot and marginally faster than chocobo, is not quick (hides loading screens).. The world itself is very bare, not dynamic in the least and there are few reasons to explore. The world is covered with invisible barriers that mean you can only leave the road/ path if there is another linear path to follow. If you do travel about on foot, you will undoubtedly continue to encounter the same 2 people that are either hurt or their car has broken down...same assets, same encounters, time and again. From a story perspective, it's a mess; there is no context for the characters introduced and no way to know what is going on in the few instances where story is introduced. As always with the Japanese devs, they have to have at least 1 NPC that is over-sexualized for same **** Cindy stuff is ridiculous, not quite to the extent that Quiet was butchered, but completely breaks any type of immersion with the game...I will never understand **** I love scantily-clad women!!! The 2nd-half of the game, for me, was just a mess; and there is no way to see that the gamestyle is going to change so substantially. You go from doing fetch quests and travelling about to be forced down 1 linear path and from event to event. Combat is largely replaced, especially in boss fights, with QTE events. The story gets no clearer and they try to make you feel emotionally-vested in characters you have never even met, simply with a few historic cutscenes. The only positive thing I can say about the 2nd half of the game is that it is very brief and might only take you a few hours.

First off, fanboy **** that purposely rate games 0 should be spammed for the rest of their lives.....I have never played a game that deserved a 0 and very few that deserved 10's.....this site is so sad. If you absolutely love platformers you should not miss this game; it is like all those old really bad (to me) platformers the Japanese used to make have come into the 21rst ****'t get me wrong, I still would hate them, but slightly less. This game has very little story, lots of collectibles, platforming and very simplistic 3rd person shooting. To me it wasn't compelling in any way. That said, other than the 1 minute load times the game has few bugs and despite what idiot fanboy sites like Giant Bomb claims, there was no issue with the frame rate that I could detect.

XCOM:EU/W ranks as 1 of my top 10 favorite games all time (even though releasing EW as a full standalone was massive cheese). 4 years ago that game was everything I love about turn-based games. It was a breath of fresh air in what had become a stale, under-served genre. 4 years on and this game adds nothing significantly new and plays significantly worse than the last....this deserved so much better. Pros Turn-based combat remains an enjoyable alternative to action games. Revamp brought parity to the classes and allows many different playstyles with some replayabilty, Cons Foremost is the game is buggy, crashes are not frequent, but not infrequent. Menu is very floaty, clearly not designed for a controller, far too many loading scrrens (2 to get into a mission and 2 to get out) and they take far too long for the size of this game. Graphics are dated, about on par with the last game In a genre and a game that begs for innovation, other than basically inverting the story line from the last game that added very, very little to this game. Massive Chalice, which 100% copied EU, was more innovative and a better game than this ****.

Truth be told I would rate this game a 5.5, but as that isn't an option, given that it is the first jRPG that I haven't absolutely hated in the last 6 years, I rounded up :) Even though not made by a Japanese dev, this is typical jRPG fare...turn-based combat, linear world, cartoonish graphics and simple story.....while the genre was cutting edge 15 years ago it has not innovated past that very basic, almost childish style. The true turn-based growth have come from game like Divinity:OS and Wasteland 2....shame. That said, this game: Pros Serviceable **** good but not bad. Pairing system was an interesting twist that I really enjoyed. Abilities Board was reasonably well done. Almost charming Cons Within 10 minutes I had to turn the music down to ****-awful horrible without let-up. Combat is too easy without any need for strategy. None of the characters are fleshed out....never felt vested in any of them

Basically, if I thought the previous game was an 8 or above, more of the same would be a good thing; if the original I though was a 7, more of the same is not enough. Pros: Stealth gameplay is decent; it isn't MGSV (and that pains me to say), but not bad. Story is serviceable; again not great and not easily immersed in, bot say, a lot better than MGSV :) Cons: Although they added a few new augs, none of them add anything to the experience and are basically redundant, but hey, they can say there are new augs. Melee gameplay is still a subpar **** devs want you to play stealth, World is very small and yet loading times are pathetically long especially when you take the subway....same people always there, doing the exact same **** worse when you have to walk it....very, very lazy. Much of the story goes absolutely nowhere...almost like they were setting up **** a story this short that is disgraceful.

Overall, the game is fairly entertaining especially if you are a fan of turned-based combat. Pros: Combat is generally enjoyable; nothing groundbreaking, but solid Graphics are good; well, good for a 2-D sidescroller. Story is pretty good and the usage of the 2 caravans that merge in the end was enjoyable. Soundtrack isn't bad, if a bit sparse. The healthbar reflecting both your health as well as your maximum damage is a refreshing concept. Cons: Most revolve around the designer's vision being bigger than their budget which caused me a few issues, namely, The mechanics surrounding morale and starvation, while great concepts for a sim-type game, were only here in spirit, as there were literally no consequences to ignoring both issues entirely. If they didn't have the budget to make that part of the game relevant in any way, they should have dropped the concept. Playable characters were added and removed at the whim of the devs. In a straight action game that might be acceptable, but in a game where you are leveling 1 character at the expense of another and with very limited resources to do so, to have that leveled character arbitrarily removed for no relevant story related reason is a ridiculous fail. The endgame which forces you to use 2 characters whom you may not have utilized/ leveled throughout the playthrough, again, another ridiculous fail. If they were going to force you to use 2 characters for the hardest fight in the game, for god's sake give some indication that those characters should be leveled prior to that fight!!!

Would have given it a 6.5, but it is closer to a 6 than a 7, so... In the bad, this game reminds me of Witcher 3; movement is very imprecise, making looting and general navigation a pain (not quite as bad as Witcher, but close); again, same as Witcher (this tie worse) frame rate drops and stuttering plagues this game; much of the 2nd half of the game if played with a frame rate less than 20...brutal grind for a game made for completionists. Combat was far too **** I am an explorer gamer and combat is never my forte. Unfortunately, unlike Witcher, it didn't hit a homerun on story or atmosphere. Story was generic bland, but serviceable and atmosphere was not immersive in the least. Sound was well done, especially the car sounds. To be honest, I am not positive what I thought this game would be as I have never played this style previously, but it has been a very bad year if you are anything but a shooter fan, so.... This is a very simplistic game, with some very easy puzzles that take 2 or 3 forms, with the majority being a search for items in a picture (like a crossword but actual items); this one activity is the majority of the game and you continually backtrack to the exact same dozen or so spots "solving" these and getting the next item needed to advance the "plot", As a children's game I think this would be fantastic and I will definitely share with my niece; however for adults, let alone gamers, there isn't much to see **** challenging, very repetitive, bland story and voice-acting; on expert it takes 4 or 5 **** normal the game would blur by (I played the post-game on normal and it was ridiculously easy).

Pleasantly surprised by this game; I pre-ordered it because 2016 has been horrible for new games for **** the rest of the year ain't shaping up any better. I didn't read enough into how the "live" part was being handled and thought it would be ridiculous; gotta say, I loved it. The animation is so life like I was 3 minutes into the first live episode before I realized it was actual actors......very well done. I also liked the insight the live sections provided into the **** I am normally the "skip this" button masher. As to the game. The combat overall was enjoyable; as a standalone shooter this would have been a major fail as the variety of weapons and their differentiation was very limited; but add in the time powers and the combat was quite fluid and **** a little on the easy side on Normal....which personally, I ain't complaining about :) Pic quality hits a few rough parts but by and large is excellent. While I can't remember the last game I played that was under 20 hours, I was less disappointed than I thought I would be, because..... The true strength of this game is the storytelling....dear lord I found this amazing. All the characters were extremely well fleshed out, to the point I can't think **** that comes close. Not a horrible game, but not a good one either. The game was obviously made on a PC budget and it shows in many, many ways. Still, there is some good in it for non hardcore scifi fans. Pros: The galaxy, while sparse and boring is very large relative to the speed you can **** better to say it has the illusion of size, so there is a somewhat enjoyable exploration side. Combat is fun and allows you the option of fighting, having the crew/AI fight for you while you pilot, board and capture ships to keep or sell. Definitely the main point of this game and the only part done to good affect. There is a trading/ economy in place that is dynamic on a very limited scale that is interesting for a few hours. There are a lot of ships to peruse/ capture/ buy from your starting gunship all the way up to carriers. If you enjoy trying out a variety of vehicles this would be a plus, although most of the ships offer little difference from one another. Cons: The campaign itself is horrible. Seriously, the voice acting is hands down the worst I have ever ****, so bad. At the very least it is not lengthy or cumbersome, with the vast majority of the game spent in freeroam to level up. I can't quite express how bad the campaign is actually......travel 15 minutes to point A, here 3 lines of horrible voice acting a fly 5 minutes to point B to fight 2 ships.....freeroam to level up and repeat. Freeroam, although better than the campaign as it offers more combat, has the same 4 missions repeated over and over and **** a game built around freeroam you thin they could have come up with a little more variety. Game stutters/ freezes for a few seconds while flying every time you cross into a new zone,,,,which happens every few minutes....more annoying than gamebreaking. The world is 2D/ 3D bland. Flying controls are bad.....right stick controls 360 view and left 360 **** space that means you are constantly disoriented.....thankfully there is a reset mode which you can push after every fight.

First racer I have ever played, so I am not rating on a curve. The game was fairly good, but it did not persuade me to want to buy a sequel when it comes out. I appreciate the steps they took to change it from a pure racing sim, but thye need some serious help on that front if they intend to broaden the appeal to non-racing gamers. Pros: They made an easy difficulty that allowed even a noob like me to find the game accessable and enjoyable. For the first 1/3 of the game I used the easy mode and then gradually stepped up the challenge. Really well done. Pretty looking game; not the greatest graphics nor the most scenic settings but better than average. Car sounds were very realistic and enjoyable....easy to find immersion just cruising down the road. Cons: Biggest single player gripe is the radio stations. I get it that songs people know are expensive to license, but everyone else seems to do it. I see fanboys positing that it is done purposely for this reason or that but it is obviously a money issue. The most popular music of the people your games a geared to is pop, rock and hip hop and yet we get 1 station of classical, and 6 stations of indie house music garbage. Neddless to say I, and I imagine the vast majority play with the radio **** least allow us to customize a playlist.....huge fail in a driving game. Largest gripe in the online play is there is no penalty for damaging your car....sure it looks damaged, but it doesn't impact performance, so every race turns into a smash and crash.....like laying Hold'em with no stakes....every fool goes all-in every time.....another huge fail. Outside of racing there is very, very little to do......even the road trips are a race...sure, it says take your time, enjoy the scenery and yet you add dozens of AI vehicles all around you going your exact speed, no matter what it is, and smashing into you. Finally, for as expensive as it is to make these games, adding a few extra towns so you aren't asked to take road trips to the same 6 spots over and over again would be relatively inexpensive and yet would go a long way to cover up the monotony.

First-off, I acknowledge I give this game 1 or 2 bonus points simply because it is a true RPG and there are far too few of them out there on consoles. That is the strength of this game and I would recommend it only to those that know that irrespective of how "role" is spelled in RPG, it means "roll". Stats matter i this game. That said, if you are not a real fan of the genre, steer clear as this is not even a good RPG....still, for every 5 Wastelands, we get a Divinity:OS, so keep making em :) Pros: True RPG, character customization is deep and meaningful; no one-size-fits-all here. You must specialize and what you have to not pick is gonna hurt :) Screen/ controller mechanics, from inventory to tool selection is very well done. Level design/ pacing is varied and keeps things interesting.....combat, traps, puzzles, nice variety. Story is decent but not memorable. Unfortunately, that is about it for the good stuff. Cons: First and foremost, I am used to top-down isos, but the camera angles in this game are atrocious....horrible sight-lines, visibility. I get that the game was done on a PC budget, but that doesn't mean you have to use tech that is 15+ years old...late 90's average, garbage today. No mini-map and only barely visible compass with no ability to set waypoints; makes navigation in this game a tedious chore. Turn-based nature of movement cost is broken, sure you can only fire a gun once per turn, but any slug (literally) can cover the entire screen in that same turn......broken. Combat is less satisfying than it should be as the percentages are clearly broken....2% chance for a gun to jam that happens a minimum of 1 in 8 **** engine is clearly not relying solely on the stated %, which makes the mechanics opaque and frustrating. Level layouts tend to be linear in progression, yet there are few "backdoors" and no fast travel, meaning you are forced to trapse back over the same ground to get back to the main map......80's anyone? One of my larger gripes is that the game is intended for a party of 7 and you are penalized for using fewer as xp is at the individual level not the party level (you do not split xp) and all encounters are geared for a 7 member **** it is simply more difficult with fewer members with no upside other than not having to coordinate an entire football team throughout the game.

Pros: Both main characters are endearing on the whole. Evie was the first time, when given the option, I chose to play a female character....stealth all the way. Story, while draggy at times and not always on-point, is decent. Rope ladder/ dart can be a lot of fun.....standalone (see below) Side activities are the most varied and interesting they have ever been in an AC **** me, this was the best part of the game. Cons: Really not a fan of playing 2 main **** an immersion fail....just bad. The addition of the rope dart/ladder, while fun on its own swinging around the city like spiderman, really takes from the game and is not why I play AC. To boot, the city was designed for this tool. Gone are the days when we would run **** the whole, big fail for me. Possibly because of the rope ladder, the jumps in this game were really dumbed-down...I literally didn't miss 1 jump all game.....playing this was exactly like playing the last Tomb Raider (the current Tomb Raider is vastly superior).

Just to start, we all have our own rating system and an 8 from me is like most giving the game a 10 (or higher)....really want to give it 8.5. Played the previous title in this series and liked it, but didn't love **** corrected almost every single flaw I found in the original...this game is **** GOTY is between FO4 and this and this was much more cohesive than FO.....great way to end the year. Cons: Still far too many QTEs for a AAA game....this game is better than **** devs have shown they are better than this and it ruins the immersion and flow of the gameplay. The game wants to be an action-stealth game, except that it doesn't give you many ways to play **** cannot purposely **** once you are in range or out of cover for 1 sec, you cannot hide as every NPC knows your exact location from then on.....unforgivable oversight in this type of game....even Ubi finally fixed AC. ...and just nitpicking, but too many Achievements in this game, many of which are just spamming...focus CD, focus. Pros: Story is really good and the pacing is phenomenal. Sidequests are all in keeping with the immersion.....there are no, pick 5 flowers for no **** this frying pan for, well no **** only are they on point, they offer really good rewards. Tomb puzzle solving, while not immensely challenging, are light years ahead of what we got last **** the rewards are fantastic....great job....very great job. Firstly, I am an old-school D&D fan, so the turn-based combat has a decided appeal (in an RPG the skill should be in the stats of the character, not in my skill with a controller). On the whole this is a pretty good game that will appeal to a niche market (jRPG fans should take note as this is a step up), but will unlikely find a wider audience given its mechanics and lack of polish. Pros: Turn-based combat that depends on every stat of the character, which is controllable/ determined by you...from who attacks first, who attacks most, through damage, defense, etc. Very **** takes a while to get back into coming off of the action style games of today. Character customization for the above reasons; allows vastly different approaches to the game. Crafting is strong; again, only if you are into the time it takes to appreciate it. This is another niche appreciation. Story is ok and although the physical footprint is not large, the combination of the above and the planing involved with approaching combat, so as not to be 1-shotted, the game takes 40+ hours to complete (maybe on easy mode it would take less, not sure). While I don't play co-op, that you can fully lay the game co-op is a fantastic feature. Cons: This game was clearly made on a PC budget, from visuals to voice acting this is very obviously not a AAA product (again, much like a jRPG) Combat, at times, can be very unfair. It is far too easy to be 1-shot killed (not just "you", your whole party!!!!!) and, in a game with a true ironman mode, that is unconscionable. Rock-paper-scissors is a ridiculous concept to resolving **** I mean ridiculous. Like too many games over the past few years, the games become more complex, but the tutorials do not, so your early enjoyment of the game is much less than it should **** you lose a lot of people that are borderline RPG fans. Camera angles (top down)/ screen colors are not great and it is fairly easy not to be able to see enemies during combat as they blend into the environment (not purposely) Enemies/ creatures do not re-spawn, so there are only a set amount of xp in this game...once you are "done" a section, it is barren (except for the corpses) for the rest of the game...huge disappointment.

I am 12 hours into this game and am putting it away. I have too many old games I want to play to waste my time on average fare like this. That the "pro" reviews are so high is a disgrace, but sadly one we are becoming used to; there is no reason, other than money or blind nostalgia anyone would rage this game higher than a 7.5.....I think fair ratings would be anything between 3-7. The Prologue is complete nonsensical drivel and Sutherland's voice is jarring. There was no way for me to become immersed in this joke. Then the game opens **** it gets worse. No story, stealth this for no reason, stealth that to loot some raw materials to build a ridiculous mother base....sweet lord this was poorly done. It is clear this company had no idea how to do an open **** it **** what the %^$&* is with credits rolling before and after every mission......amateur hour.

First and foremost, anyone that rates any game a 0 is an **** to be fair, most people that rate games 10 are as well,,,,but I digress. Watch Dogs I feel missed on on being a very good game by a thin line. The story was cliche but good, a lot like Witcher, if you choose to ignore the contradictions it is easy to become **** for what reason, you are not immersed, the story can seem uninspiring and nonsensical. Pros. Story has flow and the game is well paced, No shortage of open world activities to partake in. Casual driving is far more realistic than GTA V (see cons) Hacking is a great concept and they didn't miss pulling it off in a gamechanging way by **** never quite got there though as hey made too much hackable which took from he experience. Cons God the soundtrack was horrible....I rarely notice soundtracks but this one mut have had almost no budget and we wound up with 50 or so really bad songs. Driving at speed and specifically turning is bugged. The camera never catches up with the turn and you invariably crash.....unbelievable this didn't get fixed. Moving out of hiding/ crouching position is far too difficult....died far too many times as the character wouldn't stop hugging the wall!

This is the first GTA I have ever played and after 100%ing it here are my thoughts. Pros Best online I have ever played. I do not often play online as it is normally young boys simply shooting each **** my cup of tea; and while GTA V doesn't lack for those idiots, Rockstar has both made it easy to avoid the them as well make most play either solo or co-op....really fun sandbox even if it eats up an amazing amount of internet usage (if you have a cap) and is an incredible grind if you want the level 100 **** are forced to grind races mainly. I assume the reason that GTA is so popular is that the game was very accessible, meaning the single player lacks any real challenge as the game is expert i handholding and making difficult seeming encounters very easy. This can be both a plus (for casuals) and a minus (most serious gamers). The detailed open world is a pleasure to play in; as with all open worlds it is not perfect by a long shot, but it is hands down the best out **** Cry 3 would be the closest. Cons You are forced to play as 3 degenerate murderers....I find this an odd concept. You can spin it however you want, but all 3 are **** is one supposed to feel immersed playing these tools? The single player is far, far too easy. Traffic is supposed to mimic reality and yet the sole purpose of traffic in GTA V is to create obstacles for you as a ****'s idiotic. Default vehicles...each character has them, but no mater how much money you make you can never change your default vehicle.....very simple but massive fail.

I loved X-com....loved it. From a combat perspective this Indie attempts to follow the mechanics of X-com and does a decent job of that....that's the end of the pros about this game. Unlike X-com, the combat isn't as refined or strategic; the environments are bare bones; they try to make it challenging by spawning hordes of enemies in random locations, but meh. The real problems with this game are: 1. The "story" is garbage, so you are only fighting in a tower defense-type way only just trying to last for 300 years. 2. Because it is over 300 years, with fights on average every 10 years, you only get to fight 3 maybe 4 fights with any 1 hero, before they die of old **** can rarely level up any hero to any significant degree or, if you do, it is in their last battle. With no vested interest in any of the characters, combined with a junk story....zzzzzzzzz. 3. As you are constantly having to use new, no-ability, characters, they are under-powered, and yet the foes get tougher every fight...very odd set-up and not well thought out at all. 4. The whole bloodlines thing, while I do appreciate devs taking chances and pushing the boundaries, this was obviously done in someone's basement without any real thought put into it....whoever the regent is, that is the class fighter they will **** forbid you get all the cabers....zzzzzzzzz. Bottom line for me, this is a PC or iOS quality game. The devs tried to add a new idea to the genre, but either because it was on a shoe-string budget or they simply aren't very good at this, it was not well done, very simplistic and boring. The devs should have stuck with trying to do a simpler X-com, as there is definitely a market for that, not so much for this.

Given the number of noobs that point to Metacritic as some bible of objectivity instead of the center of the fanboy universe it is I feel obliged to weigh in. The number of 10/10 this game gets is nauseating and that so many came before the fanboys actually even played it should be a hint to anyone with integrity. OK, my thoughts on this game actually fairly well mirror the review by True Achievements, however unlike that "reviewer" my rating and my review bear some connection to one another. Alas, such is this industry. Pros - The story, the story, the story - after the trainwreck I felt Witcher 2 was, I was very pleasantly surpirsed by this narrative. Witcher 2 catered to fans of the books and assumed you had some understanding of what was going on...cardinal sin. This game is very accessible and tells a great story with fully fleshed out characters. This is the SOLE reason I rate this game above a 6 (6 would be an average open world RPG to me)....fantastic job. Cons - my the list is ****, far too long for anyone to rate this game anything close to a 10 unless they are a fanboy or sellout. Movement is bad....really bad, very imprecise. You are constantly overshooting everything...whether it is running, jumping, swinging your sword, looting (my god the **** BAD. For a combat RPG that is astonishing. Witcher 2 combat was clunky, this is both clunky and very, very loose. The only amusing part in this mess was the fact that you can't fall off a mountain, you literally ski down **** matter the height, no matter the **** down **** forbid there is anything with a slope at the bottom as you are then caught in a halfpipe for 30 seconds before you can get control of the character. Worse movement in a AAA game I have seen in years. Inventory - hands down the worst inventory system I have ever **** for a game that invites you to loot every 3 feet that is a problem...which brings us to looting and crafting. **** guy is a Witcher and yet to survive economically we are invited to loot every piece of twine, candle, plant, empty bottle, cows milk, you come **** vast majority of it is absolutely worthless, but you have no way of knowing that as there is no JUNK spot in your **** just about everything is worth1 crown...save at that 1 store in Novigrad, god bless A joke and very, very amateur. Crafting - I love crafting in RPGs...LOVE IT....this feels like an add-on. No thought went into it; you can't customize anything; there is a diagram for everything and the needed components are 1% of the stuff you loot; and everything is in sets you find while treasure hunting...rubbish. The font....egads the font.....55 inch TV...needed to be sititng right in front of it to read **** you need to read a **** kink in my neck is still killing me. Sidequests - I get that we all like different stuff, but the praise I hear for these sidequests is boggling. Literally 90% of the sidequests see you "holding down your Witcher powers" to follow footsteps, follow scents, find chests, find hidden doors, etc....hour after hour of this **** as if in AC you need to hold down your eagle vision for 1/2 the **** the Witcher vision camera is just god awful. Bugs, bugs and more **** a game that was delayed for 9 months to fix the bugs.....just wow. My Unity experience at launch was better than **** they gave us a free **** fear though, we're getting 16 free **** beard looks **** I might have to play through another 100 hours after the next sword comes out....ridiculous gimmick. As you can see from the cons, I really, really loved this story :)

6.5/ 10 Gameplay 2.5/ 4 - combat is the only really responsive and enjoyable part of the gameplay; it's fun, can be challenging and offers good variety. The movement/ climbing/ jumping mechanics were a big disappointment; an extremely dumbed-down Assassin's Creed...almost impossible to miss a jump. Skill/ practice is irrelevant from the adventuring perspective. The entire skilltree was an obvious add-on and is meaningless....insultingly so. Story - 2/4 - not bad, not great. World is small and very linear. Puzzle sections are few, very, very brief and very simple. Largest single criticism of the game is that the devs knew that their audience was men, so even though you are "playing" Lara, she remains **** immersed in a game can I be if there continues to be close-up shots of solely my chest when forced to continually slide into cracks....seriously guys, grow up; at least Witcher allows us to be pervs the way we normally are :) Visuals 1/2 - again, not bad, not great. Soundtrack 1/1 - well suited and enjoyable.

Not a bad game, but not a good one. It is a hackers delight as button-mashing is a must. Pro's - relatively lengthy game (made significantly longer by the out-of-place puzzles at the end) in a relatively large world. Graphics are reasonable and the score and voice acting respectable. Cons - story is exceedingly limited and is basically just 1 fetch quest after another. Combat is button-mashing and very easy even on the most difficult setting. The introduction of a new piece of gear every new "quest" with which you are forced to use immediately and for an hour and then it is irrelevant....very annoying and very lazy "creativity". ......The Black Throne...enough said? Adds quite a few hours of puzzle solving smack at the end of the game and is very out of place

I bought this game when I first started gaming 3 years ago; after about an hour it was clear it wasn't my style, so I shelved it. Quite a few games like that in the beginning that I have come back to to clean up the Achiivements. Every other game, from Dark Souls to Quake 4, has either turned out to be a fantastic game or a servicable one....then there is this thing... In the 90's, as a kid I thought JRPG's were awesome and if this game came out in the early/ mid 90's, it would have been average to good. In 2012, let alone 2015, this game is horrible rubbish unless you are a complete and utter JRPG fanboy. I can't fathom people in 2015 (which there are) suggesting the visuals in this game are stunning....even for a 2D game (how did we ever live like this???), the visuals are average at best. The characters - androgenous as only the Japanese can dream **** bland, bland, bland. Story line - there was one? I'm serious, there is no storyline here; no idea why we're doing any of it....1 loooong fetch **** a very uninteresting world. Combat engine is great??? Compared to what from the 90s? I made it through about 20 hours...that I will never get back. One of the very few games I have left most of the Achievements on the **** the only 1 that the Achievements not gotten were not multiplayer. Conclusion - if you are a JRPG fan, you may enjoy this 1990's **** you aren't steer well clear.

The Good - fun combat and a big world to explore. Good customization. The Bad - It's a long list, but the main ones: 1. The Cult-like fanboys of this game claim it is the hardest game out ****. The only truly difficult part of this game is the beginning bosses aren't scaled. The later bosses are the same toughness, but you are leveled with better equipment making the vast majority a cakewalk (and parry/ reposte is so op broken that anything less than a boss, and even some of them, is laughable). That lack of scaling (both ways) is a huge fail. I was as disappointed with the incredible toughness of the first few bosses as I was with the lack of challenge of the last 2/3rds. (Bed of Chaos....what a joke). 2. Whomever designed this basically single player game to include live mp content was a moron. You can't pause the game for any reason (bathroom) or some "committed" fanboy will invade your realm and kill you (if you are **** that's in 2015...I can't imagine how annoying that would have been when the game was popular.....unbelievable fail. Many games have a mp component to a sp **** THEY'RE SEPARATE!!!!!!! 3. Story really, really ****. In truth there really is no story as you could "complete" the game without ever knowing what you were doing or why. Again, the fanboys claim that is by design and that the game doesn't "hold your hand" like all other RPG's....joke on both fronts. Outside of Fable, I have never encountered an RPG that holds your hand more than this game....every 5 feet there is an unmissable note on the floor telling you exactly what to do right in that exact spot...even though you have no idea why you are doing **** lack of story is why this game has so many player communities on the net as nobody knows what to do or why. 4. Inventory system is the worst I have ever **** can't sell your junk and by the time you figure that out, simply dropping the stuff (and no, dupes are not stacked!!!) takes forever...what the ^%& is the point of 25 broken swords!!!!!!!!!!!

I will preface my opinion on the fact that FC3 was my 2nd favorite game of 2013. For me, it was fresh and new, the world was gorgeous and the story (if not the protagonist) was compelling. I spent well north of 100 hours doing everything I could **** then some more time just skidooing :) FC4, save for the visuals (which were well done, if that is becoming the norm) was a disappointment on every level. FC3, the story gripped you from the opening moments, it was thrust upon you and you were forced to deal with **** struggle (and whine, moan and complain throughout!!!). FC4's story is as contrived as it gets; surest sign of bad writing and no real vision. Just an ordinary kid, who outright states he's not a warrior...then he turns around and, of his own volition, starts tearing apart regs with every weapon imaginable.....soooo lame. For me, in an open world with a ton to do, meaning a lot of fetch type quests (which are populated in every game...actually what every mission is in 1 form or another), the story is critical; if I don't believe the story, how can you become immersed in the world. This is the first open world game where I have not done all the quests, have not gathered all the collectibles...dang, my screen is littered with them. I started in the first few hours, but became so bored I just stopped and ran for the main missions. Gameplay itself is decent, the same as 3, but once you've done **** least the helicopter and the repelling were enjoyable. In FC3, even in the middle of terror, there was fun in that world; FC4, there is no terror, save what you make for yourself, and yet, the world is still no fun. Decent game, but a terrible letdown.

n a word; AWESOME. If you are 1 of the 117 people on this site that rated this game negatively (NEGATIVELY??!!), I am not sure what your real issue is, but suffice to say, you are an idiot. Reasonable people can debate if this game is merely a very good RPG or one of the best all time, but in no sane judgement is this game anything but very good. Other than the ME series and RDR there no other games that are materially better. Truth be told, in many respects this game is better than them from a scope standpoint, but full immersion, for me, was impossible because of the not so subtle gay politics that Bioware champions. It literally permeates the game and makes the social aspect a joke (more than 1/2 the characters are gay and none of the women, romanceable or otherwise, are attractive), Look we get it, some people really high up at Bioware are **** what? Don't push your politics on the other 99%. Your ME series walked the line between your message and the rest of the world rather well. Now, as to the **** world is huge...larger than Skyrim and much more diverse from environment to enemies; although the towns are far less dynamic than Skyrim. Overall I spent about 50% more time in DA:I (150 hours) than in **** all within 1 story, whereas in Skyrim, that was 5 or 6 different stories. This should be the model for open=world going **** at least a step in the right direction. GOTY hands-down. I still have FC4 up next, but this was the best game I have played in over 2 years. Bioware, if you get some of your internal issues dealt with, you might actually contend with Bethesda as the best in the business.

From a story line perspective, if you have played Borderlands, you know what to expect; story is definitely not their forte, but it is serviceable and always humorous (especially TVHM when Tina gets in on it). For me, I downgraded the rating a full notch for a very, very lazy **** story centers around your character....whichever of the 4 you decide to play; however, in the beginning, the end, and all the parts in the middle when the tale is being recounted, it is told by Athena as if you are playing her....ridiculously lazy fail. Gunplay remains the strength; and they have added lasers to the mix; which is good as, IMO, they nerfed the Assault Rifle...literally didn't find a good one through 2+ playthroughs. Skill trees are all new and there are some really great ones there...definitely added to the game. As always, for me, the loot system is broken. I get that some people just love new loot, but as all new weapons scale to your level, you never keep a weapon more than 1/2 **** Legendary you got at level 10 is worse than a White 5 levels later. Ridonkulous. Grinder is a worthless concept and even worse in practice. My last gripe with this company is their Achievements; there are always 2 or 3 mp Achievements thrown in to what is a single player game; they take, literally 15 minutes, to pop all **** what's the point??? You have to form a Boosting party to get them as, just 3 months after launch there is no one on....sloppy thinking.....leave that junk for DLC devoted to it. ....and stop forcing us to play all characters for several hours or more simply to 100% the game!!! Unlike AC, I am not looking forward to the next addition of BL....burnt-out at this point and they would need to something drastically different to rope me back in.

Having played and somewhat enjoyed 1 & 2, I was looking forward to 3. True, they weren't the best RPG's out there, but there aren't that many of the genre period that I would not play mediocre titles. Firstly, let me state, that just prior to release, PBDS made a huge deal that this game was much more like 1 than 2; that would be a no....from the maps to the gameplay, this almost was **** bad. From the first moments of the game, any hope that PB improved the aesthetics or framerate issues significantly was dashed. FR is about on par with 2, not as horrid as 1. The animation is clearly second rate, it's an embarrassment. ...every woman looks like an East German athlete with a porn stars breast implants gone way too **** design team must be **** probably hates women :) As to the gameplay. The dodge-rolling breaks the game, it is literally impossible to be hit, let alone killed, if you simply want to keep mashing the roll...ridiculous. Other than that, combat is reasonable for the first 2/3rds of the game, but once leveled up, not even on Hard is the combat challenging. The story is decent and well paced, the world is relatively large and at times fun to explore. The loot system is improved over 1 and 2, as is the leveling system; there is no one way to play this game. Overall, if you are a fan of the genre and have time to kill, pick it up; if you aren't, steer clear. This series has so much promise and each game, it's a waste that they can;t get it right. PS. I have been reading that the game is buggy; I literally had 1 crash through 1.5 playthroughs...significantly below the average for games out there now.

Been a "gamer" for probably 3 years now and I am always looking for great games to play. I'm through with all the current and several-year-old games that interest me and based on the awesome ratings, both old and relatively new, this game was next on my radar. The main game here is Half-life 2 and, while I definitely see why, in 2004 when this was released or even in 2007 when released on XBox, this game was so highly praised, it is clearly outdated today. The story itself is very, very slow starting and overall quite weak; which in itself isn't a dealbreaker for me as some of my favorite games have weak stories (Skyrim anyone), but add to this the game mechanics are very 2004 (actually they kind of remind me of the original King's Quest on PC) and you have a game that is neither interesting nor overly enjoyable. In 2014 buyer beware.

Action - the game allowed significant scope in how to approach the objectives; stealth, force or a combination - 8 World size - It looks bigger than it is; AC3 was actually larger. The only true area to roam is the ocean (which is a lot of fun), with all but a few of the islands very linear (no entering the woods, etc) follow the path stuff. - 7 Open world - mini games (8), sea roaming & battles/ boarding/ fort battles (9.5 - the shanties are what stick with me from the game), mini-convoy activity (6), looting warehouses (6), underwater exploration (3), chase the courier (0), collectibles (6 - the rewards are not worth the time, but they aren't onerous) .

That normally indicates it's a follow-on from the original....this has NOTHING to do with the original. Firstly, for all those who rated this game a 10, I'm glad if you actually enjoyed it, but come on, Mass Effect 2 and Red Dead Redemption are 10's, rating this game a 10 makes mockery of ratings at all. That said, this game was 'Infinitely' better than the original in this series; which in my opinion was 1 of the 2 most over-rated games in history (Dark Souls being the other). Pros: Atmosphere is 1rst-rate; a trait it shared with the original Bioshock; score, sound and design are top notch and help try to draw the player into the world. Story is **** great, but certainly above average. Gameplay is vastly improved from the original. The ability to fight from distance was appreciated. AI was well done...again, not nearly as great as say ME, but solid. Cons: Storyline is VERY linear and the world is VERY small. This is in no sense of the word an epic game. Much (most) of the game is spent searching through every piiece of furniture for coins and **** ridiculous. 2 weapons and no inventory....enough said. There is no element of choice that **** cannot veer from the story...which of the guns or powers you use is irrelevant as they're all basically the same.
