This game represents the best of both DC Comics and the fighting genre. The game offers a huge amount of content with stage transitions, character powers, supermoves, interactive environments, Star Labs Missions, story mode and a fully formed online mode.

Batman: Arkham City10

Brilliant. This game is an incredible monument in the superhero genre and I would not hesitate in saying that it is the best on the market. Freeflow is easily the most fun in a combat system I have ever experienced and the plot to the game is intruiging. The whole experience is always a fun Batman package.

LEGO Batman 2: DC Super Heroes10
Jul 3, 2012
This is not only a brilliant Lego game but also a brilliant superhero game. There is a massive variety in characters to choose from ranging from the different varieties of Batman to the invincible Martian Manhunter. The open world style gives the series a revamp and Gotham is incredibly fun to explore. Finally, the voices definitely add to the humour.

Batman: Arkham City10

Rocksteady kept me on my toes by peppering in special enemies. Guys with stun rods, armored outfits and broken bottles all have to be dealt with in very specific ways. I needed to assess threats and engage situations like Batman would. I don't know if I can express how awesome that makes a comic nerd like me feel; after years of hypothesizing how Batman would beat Character X, I now have to do it to survive.

This game has brilliant exploration. It is an absolute joy to just fly around and explore. The powers are fun to use and although it has flaws, the game is great.

EVE Online10
May 18, 2012
Most other contemporary games in this genre focus on linear progression through leveling and the acquisition of gear. EVE Online contains no character levels to grind and all ships and equipment can be bought, sold or lost. Skill is gained over time through non-linear progression of which you are in full control. Whether you want to be the best frigate pilot or pilot a mighty armored battleship, the choice is yours.

Mass Effect 310
May 18, 2012
The word of the day is "choice." The Mass Effect franchise has always rested on the idea that the player gets to pick Shepard's path, and in this last installment BioWare seems determined to give the player a small array of options for almost everything. Are conversations not your thing? There's an option to make them into cut-scenes. Is reflex-action combat too challenging? There's an option to make it significantly simpler (you only need to bother taking cover in the hardest of fights). Like your helmet? See it in cut-scenes. Hate it? Turn it off.

Star Wars: The Old Republic10

Amazing. This game shows amazing promise for the future and already delivers on great gameplay, story and general meachanics. The graphics are brilliant for an MMO, if you have a high end computer, definitely put the settings on very high. The story mechanics are better in every one than all other MMO's and a lot of other games. The conversation system is engrossing and the plot is cleverly crafted. The combat is always fun because you feel like their is a reason behind every fight. When comparing to games such as World of Warcraft, there is a huge difference in quality. WOW is boring because the whole game is basically one massive grind. However TOR has variety in companions, building frienships and weapons and armour. In terms of PvP and group combat, I am happy to say that the game works incredibly well. The group warzones in PvP all feel different from eachother and make epic battle grounds. For groups in the story, the conversation point system keeps everyone involved and the flashpoints arebrilliant for high-level players. Overall, I have no doubt in saying that this is the best MMO available. Move over WOW and Guild Wars.

Diablo III7
May 18, 2012
This game is brilliant in terms of how fun it is to play. Other reviews cite that it is too "casual" but all Blizzard have done is get rid of a feww annoying features that made me give up the orginal Diablo. The pacing works far better now that boss battles aren't just about drinking a health potion at the right time. The auction house is an inventive new feature which will keep me coming back for a long time. The one bad thing I would say is that you have to be constantly connected to the internet which is annoying for single player enthusiasts. Otherwise, a brilliant game. Still stays ahead compared to a lot of other ARPG's apart from possibly Grim Dawn.
