Introduce a black queen, why? Lost interest as soon as I saw that and stopped watching.

Honestly, Vikings: Valhalla is a big letdown, especially if you’re a fan of the original series. This show feels like a low-effort knockoff, stripped of the grit and intensity that made Vikings so good. The characters? Flat and predictable. The story? Same old, recycled tropes but with none of the raw edge that kept you on the edge of your seat **** let’s talk about the woke factor. They went all in on it, and it just feels forced. Instead of staying true to the brutal, survival-of-the-fittest Viking culture, they shoehorn in modern ideas and characters that feel totally out of place for the time period. It’s like they were more focused on ticking boxes than building an authentic story. Even the battles are just... bland. It’s like they’re afraid to go all-out, and that kills the whole vibe.

Another great series in the Vikings universe. While not as satisfying as its predecessors, it still introduced us to some lesser known Viking exploits, such as the Varangian Guard in the Byzantine Empire. I will miss these characters tremendously.

Not as good or as interesting as the original Vikings series. Would be better if they didn't fill it with DEI nonsense that takes you out of the immersion of the show (If the show does something to make you stop and go "that's a bit silly" then it's bad DEI). There are better ways to work in people of colour to a story than doing jarring historically inaccurate things like making them Vikings or northern European lords...

Like "woke"??? Then this preposterous miscarriage of history is for YOU. It will make you feel all warm and fuzzy. "History" portrayed exactly as you want it to be, as your heros tell you it was (and you believe them without question). Another Netflix triumph!!!

Here's this show in summary: Men are bad. Christians are bad. And Vikings need a black woman to lead them. Now anti-historical nonsense.

As soon as I saw that the queen was black, I immediately turned off the show. I thought I was watching a show about vikings, but I guess not. Imagine if they made a show about an old African tribe and they made the king white. It's the exact same thing and it's absolutely ridiculous.

I enjoyed the Vikings series. But this new one is funny. While I can overlook the usual stupidity in History's understanding of Vikings (way, way off btw just look into the only surviving oral tradition of the pre-religious people of the north the: Bock Saga) due to it being written by those who won the wars against the pagans (Christians). This one using a black actress to play a viking queen is just facepalmingly bad. Why do that? Are u just trying to piss people off? I don't see the point. Embarrassing and yea intolerable. So I skipped season 1 ENTIRELY. And I think most people were appalled but that doesn’t determine whether a show gets approval… or renewal… approval comes from the top and their agenda… so… Fast forward to season 2... ok a couple of guys going on an adventure. Great thats what I want to see in a Vikings fiction show (fiction because the shows obviously doesn't actually care about fact or actual pagan tradition but gets a few things more or less right, and when I see these ridiculous blood sacrifices I just imagine what they really were instead: fertility practices and have nothing to do with blood or violence) and I do enjoy the sets and setting and costume design. It's good, but it doesn't need the proverbial Game of Thrones gruesome torture scenes. It's just not a novelty anymore and trying to imitate that is really pointless. GOT broke new ground by showing how psychopathic our leaders are, OK, but we don't need Vikings to show that... it's been done, and a lot of it just seems like filler and unoriginal. Introduce a character, then torture her to death... and kill her off... - it's pointless. If you wanna show the queen is a psychopath, just try something else more original. I just don't care nor am I shocked or impressed. Also the total non-comprehension of pagan spirituality and practices is a bit annoying. Please get a clue! Can you not even read Frazer? Even that clueless guy would be better than the crap in this show. Vikings didn’t do blood sacrifices, drink blood or stab furry animals. That all came with the religion. It’s IN the Bible…. but then you sell it as pagan? What the actual #$#? They didn't just walk around awkwardly singing randomly next to totem poles or randomly shouting or howling at the moon, use the lords prayer or believe their gods lived in the sky. The stubborn refusal to accept actual real pagan source material and rely on this Christian **** take on paganism is unscholarly lazy and pathetic. Put some actual time into understanding pagans before you go and make a TV show about something you have literally zero clue about. We’re still here, yes there is a lot of crap out there but I already told you where to look. The Bock saga is available, it may be tedious, complex and hard for your small brain but you as a script writer have a responsibility to give it decent consideration even if you’re too feeble to handle it. All the crap your passing off as pagan in this show is really wwway way off the mark, and almost makes one speculate if the show is made to once again suppress paganism or it's revival as other shows are doing such as "Britannia" the absolute stinking mess that one is. BUT I'm going to give this show some more time, because I did learn a few things from the first series and it was entertaining. That was of course before I found the actual oral tradition and mythology. So now, I just don't understand the stubborn reason for refusing to accept ACTUAL oral tradition of these pre-religious people and not only rely on these documents written by their conquerors the Christian Scribes? Prose and Poetry eddas? By doing so you make the Vikings seem incomprehensible and eccentric to the point of nausea. Even the actors seem to have trouble playing these characters. For example the woman in the season two who is supposed to be a fighter and also pregnant? Just seems like a new age airhead. It’s not her fault as an actor, its just the absurd character you came up with based on this ridiculous Christian scribe and archeological dig data you’re using to tell about Viking history. You can’t do that. Digging up bones isn’t going to tell a story in reverse, you have to have some 1st hand account of the events that took place, and you’re not accepting them either because you’re clueless about it, arrogant, or just paid to create disinformation TV series. We have the original source data. We know what Vikings did, why they did it and how. This TV show is wrong and relies or disinformation put out by Christian scribes. Pagans didn’t “believe” or have “faith” in anything we understand things as they are beyond scientific materialism as well. We use logic. We were not and are not naive deluded idiots.

too all the people that are crying because the people that respect history and want it told and presented in an accurate light (oh i'm sorry... the racists). its okay to make a show that loosely depicits history, thats great even.. but to f*ck up this bad is attrocious.. they replaced an iconic scandaniavian earl with a black woman ffs?? now i don't remember Mr Haakon Sigurdsson being a black woman.. i'm soo sorry!! i must have watched the wrong documenteries and the scandanavian youtubers i watch must be completely wrong about their cultures iconic history!! woops!!. now enough of that! to actually get to what **** about this show! its the entire thing, i made it through 4 episodes before i stopped because the show is just that bad! the characters are boring and forgetful, the fight scenes are average at best and the pacing is awful and leif erikson is as boring as a loading screen.. he's almost lifless THE F***!!! how do you make a historical vikings boring!?!? i have no idea but they did it and they did it very well and his sister? yeah could have been cool to watch if the rest of show wasn't dog **** at best! well.. to those that did enjoy this dumpster fire... good luck with the history channel or any historically correct information you may accidently find... it might be a bit much to digest but i know you can do it! kind regards all the best! :D

I thought this show was highly entertaining with compelling characters, solid acting, and great fight scenes. If you're giving this show a "0" or "1" rating because you don't like seeing a black person in a fictional storyline, get help.

It's really a shame

hard to get immersed in a show about Vikings, when the culture and aspects we love about it , takes a back seat to current identity politics and feminism trends.

This show realy ****. Main protagonists are unlikeable, black female Vikings, multi-culti nonsense, anti Christian sentiment and it comes of as a game of Thrones wannabe. The story is all over the place.

The pacing is horrible. Terrible dialogues, terrible actors. Vikings took it's time to set a premise, but Vikings Valhalla feels so rushed it doesnt give you time to immerse in the plot. Main characters are a Mary Sue and a Gary Stu with superpowers just because they come from Greenland apparently... Avoid this show, watch The Last Kingdom instead.

I start to see now this show and already is a drop for me, after i see the critics i know what to expect, is one more SJW history, they want to show you strong womans like warriors in their shining armors, but womans aren´t warriors, and its ok, they wanna trun womans into mans, and we really don´t know why, is a shame to take care of your home and take care of the kids? Is womans who raised kings and heros, they take care and feed, and mans don´t fight for **** they fight for family, the strong woman for me is not that, i don´t know who they want to put in there, the womans don´t need that.
Why they want this kind of represantation? In the past we know mans go to war and womans take care of all, kids, sick people, the field, and this is not an easy job, not at all, in that time is normal to have 8-9 kids, try to take care of 8 kids alone, with no easy water, wild animals, these womans are real heroes, and they take their histories and send to the trash.

Ha ha ha! No really you make my day, every day. Every time I feel down and I think I have done a huge pile of bull... I remember Vikings: Valhalla exists and someone is responsible for this decision.

Enough is enough. I am not going to watch any show with even a single woke element in it. That would dumb me down at their level and support their demented agenda.

"What this movie lacks in story and character development it makes up for in representation". If netflix is so dead set on race and sex swapping characters in their productions, please at least hire competent writers and actors who can act.

This show is sooo uninteresting. I was bored within the first half hour. The show doesn't have any character development throughout the slow 8 episodes. I was more interested in the original series than this Netflix trash. Just because characters mention "Ragnar Lothbrok" or "Ivar the Boneless" every episode means it's a real Vikings show. I mean come on....Freydis? King "Canute"? How unoriginal. There was no known actors that I knew except Pollyanna McIntosh, and she didn't show up until almost the end. Oh and John Kavanagh who played the Seer...which he was the only thing interesting about the show, so that's why it gets a 1 and not a 0. I just don't see how people rated this on the positive side. They either haven't seen the original series or they just don't know anything about the history. HOPEFULLY, Netflix doesn't make anymore episodes. This show was a flop, like so many of Netflix series.

ust because they traded furs for silver coins from arabs doesn't mean vikings were a multicultural hippie love fest. Netflix is racist for doing this.

Nah, this is just flat out racism and cultural appropriation(Which I thought was bad??? I guess not when it's against white people). 0/10

Anyone who claims that anyone is upset that this show isn’t a racist show is a racist. The supposedly historically accurate show has decimated white/European culture. This is a white wash. It is a disgrace. Netflix are a disgrace. Why would any person of black descent want to be misrepresented in this show is beyond me. Insulting.

Race and gender swapping real historical characters. Do they get government grants for diversity inclusion?

History Channel was wrong. In the eleventh century there were African women who dominated the largest Viking cities. There were non-binary Vikings with unicorns ready to defend themselves against the ugly white English invader.

If ever there was a show that showcased over-acting, this is it. There are times when it just looks like a bunch of actors, standing around looking like they are acting. It lacks the subtle nuances that truly great shows have, there is no need to read between the lines. This is a great show for people that only get jokes that rhyme.

Barely any story happening in this show, missing a strong character like Ragnar.
Characters arent that deep or developping. Ragnar carried the first show when it started, when he was gone, the show went downhill.
This show just starts low and never rises.
I'd say to the makers: let it go and move on

I was skeptical, but I actually liked the first season a lot. Usually sequels are not good at all, but this time they did a nice job. The characters are interesting. The main protagonist is not a Viking Jack Sparrow. They are rather normal, except maybe for Freydis who was quickly given superpowers. The English story is also quite interesting. Overall I liked the show. It is also a bit different from what the previous show had. For instance - berserkers here are some thin guys (except for the Christian one) who are rather crazy, but nothing more, which seems more realistic. In the original show, berserkers were always some ultra-heavyweights who were crushing skulls with bare hands. I hope next seasons are also good.

I was going to give this show an 8, but after all the hate it’s getting from legit racists, I’ll give it a ten. There’s one black chick in here, and all these dudes are so unbelievably butthurt about it that they give this show, that has so many great qualities, a 0. If you’re rating this show poorly based off of what you believe a loose history based show should consist of, go look up how true-to-events the original Vikings show was. This is a story to be enjoyed, not a history textbook to be correcting.

For me even worse than Vikings. The characters are all pale and there are too many annoying clichés.
The CGI is also just mediocre.
But the dialogue, which is the bulk of each episode, can all be fit into a B-movie. I have rarely heard such boring talk that encourages you to fall asleep.

If you're forcing in race and feminism in a time period that doesn't make sense with the story that breaks immersion. And it's been done so often the last few years that it's out of control. They're doing this intentionally to divide and conquer. There is also no shield maidens that's made up. Entertainment industry has been hijacked by woke feminist who want to race and gender swap characters and force feminism. Yes the story is historical fiction. But even in fiction the characters need to be believable.

Great show! Exciting, fast paced with an engaging plot and lots of twists and turns. The political intrigue is really well done too. It plays fast and loose with history, but who cares? It isn’t a documentary. Highly recommended!

This show is wonderful. Acting casting is very good. This series can be a good alternative to the original series. I think the audience can live with these characters after a few seasons.
