It’s been a “24”-like thrill ride so far, with baddies coming at the ship right and left to get their hands on the doc and the in-the-works cure.

While The Last Ship won't be for viewers who want a lot of complexity and good writing, its predictability--ka-boom!--is not exactly a detriment in the summer. In fact, it might be the selling point.

OMG I just finished watching Season One of this Phenomenal show and I absolutely loved it. I'm a huge fan of post-apocalyptic shows and anything to do with deadly viruses as well and man this show nails it on the head. I will reiterate that I loved the show as well as the setting which is that a deadly virus breaks out and eighty percent of the worlds population dies and that a cure has to be found and manufactured. The acting was spot on with a numerous amount of great actors including Rhona Mitra as Dr.Scott who was in the movie Doomsday and my favorite character Tex Nolan played by John Pyper-Ferguson. I also admired the script and the pace of Season One. I really enjoyed the drama build-up along with the blatant action scenes which were done wonderfully. I would recommend giving this show a try especially if you like Falling Skies. I would also like to state that you should give this show a chance don't watch the first episode and say screw it. I would watch at least 3 episodes and then decide and also the season finale for Season One is Epic and I personally am so stoked for Season Two to air on June 21st.

i never knew that a show created by Hank Steinberg (aka the creator of Without of a Trance) , and produced by Micheal Bay was Better !!!!!!!!!!! i do not know Seinberg he was like Tom Clancy he created the show so brilliant , imagination and the army was so brilliant , Micheal Bay did not ruin the show which is the reason why people loved it anyway Bay made the show awesome his vision + Seinberg's vision + co-creator Steve kane's visiom = It's like Brilliant with awesome explosion's it's something army fans needed. Thank God !!!!! they did not let Micheal Bay ruin it was his sexual not so perfect girls and stereotypes , but still Micheal Bay got mixed reviews as he always does. Picture Pearl Harbor but like in the distance future !!!!!!! with more Groundbreaking effects !!!!!!!!! , Thank You Bay !!!!!!!. Grade A

The Last Ship would be better off developing its own new society tensions, medical nightmares and primal-survival adventures than leaning on black-hat stereotypes. Maybe it will end up heading in that direction, maybe it will succumb to more common cliches and become lost at sea. It could float either way.

So as starts go, this one picks up speed, but still feels a little rocky. That said, there’s enough here to want to hang around for a spell, waiting to see whether this crew can find its sea legs--and what dangers lurk just over the horizon.

The Last Ship is a naval recruitment ad for the apocalypse, and these waters look shallow. Careful before sticking your toe in.

People don't actually talk with each other in The Last Ship: Instead, they announce, pronounce and recycle cliches. We get a sense of character through the performances, though, and many of them are very good.

It looks great but the plotting of the premiere, in which the world falls victim to a horrendous virus and a battleship that has avoided infection could be the only way to find a cure, is stale and manipulative. Square-jawed Dane has the charisma to carry the concept but it’s handled with all the subtlety of a lead balloon.

Patriotic like hell but finally a refreshing new tv series. Finally something NEW. Can't wait for more to come! Every episode a new stage. It feels you see something new in every episode. Of course with a ship you can go further. Hopefully they will keep the tension in the next season.

Pretty mediocre after you get past the premise. Basically Star Trek on the ocean. Each week they meet new civilizations and deal with some conflict.

Not happy at all with way the show is heading Less posturing by Captain Dreamy and more realism Lets use the "Last ship" and never mind the jungles of Costa Rica The episode with the Russian Kirov class was technically weak but interesting

OK premise, not original or anything but marred by terrible high school level story telling and writing. Sappy music, forced emotional moments that made no sense and did not help with character development, major plot holes that tear apart the entire premise, elementary school science research, and cliche after cliche after cliche... I am not even sure where to start... who are the bad guys? Well think of every cliche possible and you will likely get it right. Evil Russians, and crazy far right Arabs and that is only in the first 3 episodes! The bad guys have about as much intelligence as a gerbil in heat, they chase the "good" Americans around the globe only to threaten to destroy them if they dont cooperate... what is the point? The entire thing doesnt make sense. If they are valuable enough to follow everywhere, you really think they will believe you when claim that you will blow them up when you could have done so easily at any point previously? Half the soldiers on the military ship has a huge beer belly (lol). The scientists are egomaniacal and borderling evil. God is referenced over and over in an attempt to get approval from religious viewers. I just dont get how folks get funding for this bad of writing. Skip it.

First off Adam Baldwin was way better as Jayne in FF. Characters are hard to care about - borderline unlikeable - way too many cheesy moments, trombone in background, faint drum roll, all American **** the "we don't neg.with terrorists" line almost made me **** any point you wouldn't be surprised if someone started choking up saying: I love America.Nothing new here. 6 eps in and we still knee deep in character development of pretty two-dimensional folks to begin with. Good point is the intro is really nice and short..having to watch the "last week on the last ship" would be too **** overboard! 3/10
