I never found the character that funny on Family Guy. But tonight's episode of the spin-off is quite a corker, as Cleveland runs over the family dog, with hilarious consequences.

My guess is Fox figures fans of MacFarlane's shows know what they're getting into and may not care if racial parodies are served up by white guys or black ones. Those of us who maybe aren't so comfortable were never welcome in the first place.

One of the strangest things about these MacFarlane shows are the mean-spirited "cultural references," all of them shoehorned in as asides and rarely having anything to do with the plot or characters.

Funny ass show. I literally can't stop laughing whenever I watch the show. Still miss it and that theme song is so good.

This was a great show full of some of the funniest comedies in an animated sitcom. I really do miss this show as it was ahead of its time, Cleveland was a great character and they made him even funnier. I loved Rallo as well. This theme song is so god damn good especially.

Seth Macfarlane's flair is present in The Cleveland Show, but overall it feels like a maladapted misfire with no substance at all. It's incredibly forgettable, and the fact that it is designed as nothing more than "the black family guy" is a real disservice to the elements that do work. Not an animated show to waste your time on.
