A right-on time capsule of a decade, a warm coming-of-age comedy and the funniest new sitcom on any network this fall. [23 Aug 1998, p.D6]

From snips of the Captain & Tennille to reminders on the versatility of Vienna sausages, That '70s Show is unbelievably believable. [21 Aug 1998, p.38]

One of the best sitcoms and TV shows of all time. Only good episodes until season 7. Season 8 was bad, only good for the last episode.

this is imo one of the greatest sitcoms ever made especially the earlier seasons however around season 6 I felt like the quality of the writing and humor started to declined and continued to decline in season 7 and in season 8 it just fell off a cliff until the series finale

The writing and comic sensibility are fresh and unpredictable. [23 Aug 1998, p.1L]

This idea waiting to happen finds an imperfect but winning execution -- appropriately trippy, yet gentle enough to give it a nostalgic glow. [21 Aug 1998, p.T1]

The Fox series' formula is pretty stock teen material, with immature guys and unsuspecting parents and ditsy girls, but it's got a few inventively surrealistic scenes and a breezy tone that make it worth watching. [22 Aug 1998, p.C4]

That '70s Show does have its amusing moments -- without marijuana. And it does have nostalgia on its side. [23 Aug 1998, p.3]

It blends fleeting moments of inspiration with lengthy stretches of utter banality.

That '70s Show has always been a classic in my house growing up. If you're having a bad day watch this. The cast and crew of this show will almost always put a smile on your face with this timeless classic. Hyde's character development throughout the show makes him my favorite character overall. Though it is tough to pick a favorite. If you enjoy this show I would definitely recommend the more recent spin off That '90s Show on Netflix! Would have loved to experience the 1970's which is one of the most intriguing eras of our history!

A great sitcom when it was airing, I still go back and watch episodes. The rewatchability is not as high as other shows but some characters like Red are timeless.

If I gave this review back when it was first running on TV, I would have given a higher rating and I still give it a 7 because in general I have many good memories with this show and have rewatched it dozens of times! The later seasons just get way to focused on Jackie and her unreasonable hunt for marriage while she is still actively attending high school! I mean she literally gives Hyde an ultimatum for marriage and has a whole episode dedicated to her being told she's running out of time to find a man at the extremely old age of SEVENTEEN! also the later seasons Fezgoes from being a lovable perv to being a full blown creep out in the open! If I could just review seasons 1-5 It'd be higher but the last 3 seasons are a slide down and the final season I just skip back to the pilot and start over because the last season is awful!
