Those who enjoyed Warehouse 13 or the American version of Being Human growing up will certainly love the quirkiness Reginald the Vampire has to offer, and if given a Season 2, the series could only serve to grow, embracing its human characters as much as its undead ones.

Feels like a kind of tonal companion piece to Syfy’s great “Resident Alien,” with its winning combination of comedy, suspense, likable characters and real feeling.

Consequence
Its pacing could be more consistent, both in the macro sense (e.g., how the mythology all fits together) and the micro (e.g., where and how specific punchlines land). That said, if you’re looking for a spooky season show to decompress with on a weekly basis, or a fun, low-stakes binge to save up for Halloween weekend, Reginald the Vampire is your man.

The first episode is more heartfelt than hilarious, but there’s enough of the former for us to forgive the lack of the latter.

Frequently charming. ... Like “Interview,” unfortunately, “Reginald” starts out strong and then starts to bog down. (Five of 10 episodes were available.)

“Reginald” lacks much dramatic or comedic bite.

Reginald the Vampire‘s single greatest advantage is Batalon, whose puppy-dog charm helps gloss over some of the series’ most glaring shortcomings. ... But even his efforts can go only so far to conceal how thinly conceived Reginald the Vampire really is.

The first episode was extremely bad but the series improved from that point. Wouldn't say this is a great TV show but some of the characters pull you into this universe. Reginald grows on you and Sarah but Angela is beyond annoying.

It's getting to the point where I'm only going to watch shows with conclusive and fulfilling endings... not canceled after two seasons... I wish I had known and I would not have wasted my time. The show starts off lighthearted, fun, and I was fully invested, I especially like Jacob Batalon (who doesn't?) as Reginald, but wow did the writers/creators not know what their own show was about. Characters do personality 180s, somersaults, backflips, and other acrobatics to create some semblance of entertainment and/or conflict, but it only gave me whiplash. The fluid sexuality of damn near EVERY character also got old especially when they started writing them jumping into bed with anyone/everyone. Their choices made no narrative sense and it's done in some of the most jarring ways. They handled this aspect very poorly, despite major concepts being about inclusivity. So when characters are puddle deep, narratives are all over the place, and some characters are annoyingly over-acted, it all adds up to confusion and a feeling like the network is pandering for viewership. Halfway through season one, it's like they held a focus group to figure out what didn't work... and then tried to brute force change characters. Some people are cartoonishly evil and others make decisions "out of character" often. That's also because most characters have no depth and don't add any value to the story. I can forgive a lot of things in the name of being quirky, but when I think of a "fun show" I can imagine myself in that world being swept up in all the hijinks. This is not one of those fun shows. Outside of the actual good acting that does happen with most of the main cast (Aren Buchholz as Todd deserves a shoutout) almost every other aspect was sub-par or uneven enough to be unappealing. Like, as much as I'd want to see a fulfilling ending for a show like this, I know it would just end up even worse. So I'm choosing not even to finish season 2. Goodnight, sweet Reginald, I will forget what a travesty the show was and imagine you're on all kinds of fun and interesting vampire adventures free of the shackles of bad writing and poor network decisions.
