Pros: Attempting the love triangle trope, and some of the music was good. Relatable moments like when Jackie was stressed about her driver's test, and Cole was worried about his SAT score. Cons: BORING. Almost all the side plots are boring except for Kiley and Dylan's romance. This show markets itself as a romance series but romance is barely present. Well, it's present, just not with the main characters (Jackie, Cole, and Alex). Instead, there are random rain kiss scenes with extremely boring and dry side character couples such as Danny and Erin that feels so pointless and out of place (shouldn't rain kiss scenes be reserved for the main couple?). The main male love interests, Alex and Cole, are extremely dry, and it's hard to root for boys who seem to be constantly depressed. Jackie is a very boring lead who is supposed to be smart but then she moves very weirdly with her love interests which makes her very annoying and hard to root for. Overall, I was so bored watching season 2 that I will not be watching any future seasons. I could care less who Jackie ends up with. Here's a tip for you, Netflix, if you're gonna do a love triangle right like The Vampire Diaries, make both the male love interests actually likeable and worthy of the girl. The boys in this show are just not it. Cole is so lazy that he might not make it into college. How the heck is he supposed to be the provider for Jackie if she is practically the man in the relationship?

I like this show because it is chilled, has likeable characters that I can resonate with their motivations and struggles, and has a compelling story that hangs with anticipation for the next season! A couple of things to note: I think the cast of some of the roles were not optimal, as most of the actors and actresses seem to old to be studying in a high school. Also, there seems to be a neglect for some members of the Walter family, as they are given less air time compared to some Walter staples, such as Cole and Alex. For instance, I would like to see more character development and air time for members such as Parker, the young girl. Overall I enjoyed this show. If you had a long and tiring day and want to unwind, this would be a solid choice to chill and Netflix.
