Lupin continues to be a very satisfying watch because of Omar Sy’s performance and the well-written and executed heist scenes.

Three series in and Lupin’s escapist gold shows no signs of losing its lustre.

Generally speaking, c'est très bon, though the noble effort to expand the storyline beyond Assane's creative purloining of expensive stuff sometimes shows the strain.

Between its smartly crafted intrigue and well-portrayed exploration of our hero’s fractured relationships, each of its seven episodes are packed with excitement.

This is a Boys’ Own tale, which our dashing hero pulls off with huge charm, plenty of heart and a hefty dose of adrenaline. Rollicking, old-fashioned fun.

The series remains entertaining, thanks to the wild charisma of Omar Sy as Assane, and to the cleverness of many of the heists. But like the second batch of episodes from 2021, much of it feels repetitive of the initial five episodes, and less thrilling.

Sure, the family drama feels stretched too thin at points when the resolution is nigh-on inevitable from the opening frame of the premiere, and some of the extended scenes set in the past overstay both their frequency and welcome, but it’s hard not to get swept up in the joy of Lupin for the third time in a row.
