Could've been a story of a con, and one to teach an imaginary New York a lesson, but the main character's role is undermined, which makes it impossible to achieve such influence on a society.

This series is a portrayal of real-life criminal Anna Delvey/ Anna Sorokin. As it isn't a documentary, there's a lot of padding as to be expected to make it more theatrical (this fact is shoved in our faces at the beginning of each episode). The plot and tone isn't consistent, and also, the main character remains so much of an enigma, there's a constant wobble as to how to portray Anna, this could be a plus or minus, depending on how you view it. Away from the plot, the acting of this series is well-done. Julia Garner delivers a stunning performance as Anna, with her accent that's not consistent, but also plays in theme with her character. The other cast members also delivered brilliantly. The score of the series is also good. As a series, Inventing Anna does what it sets out to do. It's sure to spark conversation on the various themes that are involved in it.

The acting is so annoying and terrible. The screenwriting is simply bad. It's just hard to watch, which is a shame since the overall story should have made this a thrill to watch.

Just like it's subject matter, this feel like's a con. The further I continued with this series the less I cared about it's conclusion. What tries to be some sort of profound ending, is just flat, and it doesn't help when all the lead characters are despicable in some capacity.

This show glorifies the worst of society: criminals and the elite. Watching each episode is like dragging myself through glass coated in salt. The songs in this show is 87% of what all I could call are sounds a flying mammal would make.

An imperfect Netflix series is full of bad cringe acting, which tries to tell 2 stories at once and miserably fails. The plotline and storyline is good but I'm not sure of how real it actually is. Netflix tried.

This is pure drivel. I am really annoyed that I wasted my time watching this. It glorifies the "courage" of a lying thief con artist as if the drive to manipulate people is a trait to admire. It's quite disgusting.

Boring and too long. Poor acting, that accent, WTF? By the end the writers and producers want you sympathize with the piece of utter human waste that is Anna Sorokin. Glorifying "Influencers" in this day and age is the lowest of the low. If you are genuinely interested in this story listen to the Swindled podcast for a far better, far more succinct, factual recount of what took place.

Other then the story, it’s a complete trainwreck. Weak acting, weak editing, over drawn and out drawn narratives. Would not recommended yet another over hyped piece of trash. Pass on this and read the news articles if the story interests you. Even the story is lame, anticlimactic and uninspiring.

I find the bad reviews surprising. I thought the characters were well acted and developed . Multi layered plot with the right touch of mystery Garner and Chulmsky are great.

Inventing Anna 2022 ★★½ Watched Feb 14, 2022 Luis_989’s review published on Letterboxd: 55/100 I decided to watch this miniseries because I wanted to see Julia Garner's performance, and that alone is what made me get to the end of it, because overall, the drama itself felt too bland and uninspired. Besides, with this miniseries, plus The Tinder Swindler and Hulu's upcoming miniseries, The Dropout in which Amanda Seyfried will play Elizabeth Holmes, I'm really getting tired of these production companies providing such great showcases for those who ultimately are nothing more than thieves and con artists.

Not even good as a background show. Poorly written and poorly acted. Predictable, not very thought provoking and the characters not deeply fleshed out it seems. Would never watch again
