Over dramatised, unrealistic, and full of plot holes. Find something else to watch

I Will Find You is a very effective thriller. It has tension, secrets, suspicious characters and one of those opening ideas that immediately makes you want to know what is really happening.David Burroughs has spent years in prison after being convicted of murdering his own son. He does not remember committing the crime, but the evidence seemed so strong that he eventually accepted the possibility that he had done something terrible without being aware of it. Everything changes when his former sister-in-law shows him a recent photograph of a boy who may be his son.From there, the series moves directly into familiar Harlan Coben territory: family secrets, police officers who are not telling the whole truth, characters connected in unexpected ways, constant twists and a conspiracy that grows with every episode. Not everything is believable, but the story moves quickly enough to keep you **** strongest element is the sense of urgency. David cannot investigate calmly, and every decision risks making his situation even worse. The show keeps adding clues, suspects and questions. Whenever something begins to make sense, another revelation changes the way we understand the **** Worthington works very well because he does not play David as an invincible hero. He is exhausted, damaged and full of guilt. Even when he begins to believe his son may still be alive, he does not know whether he can trust his own memory. That uncertainty makes him more interesting than a conventional revenge-driven father.Britt Lower is also excellent as Rachel. She is strong, intelligent and quickly becomes more than the character who starts the investigation. She brings a different energy to the story, and her scenes with Worthington help make even some of the more exaggerated developments feel **** series is dark and sometimes disturbing. At its center is the death of a child, a destroyed family and a man who has spent years believing he may have caused the worst thing imaginable. Even when the story moves into conspiracy-thriller territory, that emotional pain remains its real **** course, this is a Harlan Coben adaptation, which means another secret, another connection and another twist are always waiting. Some coincidences are huge, and certain explanations should not be examined too closely. But while the series is moving, that hardly **** is not especially realistic or profound, but it does not need to be. It is designed to create suspense and make you watch one more episode. In that sense, it works extremely well.I Will Find You is dark, tense and highly entertaining. It has a strong central mystery, good performances and enough momentum to make eight episodes pass very quickly. Some answers are exaggerated and logic occasionally has to step aside, but the suspense remains effective until the end.

While the narrative relies on a glaring deus ex machina and is hindered by Worthington's apathetic performance, alongside the theatrical overacting of McBride and Browning, the film ultimately retains enough charm to serve as passable weekend entertainment.

'I Will Find You' is the perfect example of that revelation about Netflix mandating that characters in its series constantly repeat the plot. A terrible script riddled with exposition and bad dialogue results in completely one-dimensional characters and a story that only aims to throw one ridiculous twist after another. Manipulative, contrived, and utterly pointless, the series is, without a doubt, one of the worst of the year so far.

Deus ex machina all the **** FBI is Captain Super Sherlock Holmes, and everyone always knows everything instantly. To me, it's just poorly written—sorry.

The series hooked me from the very first episode with its intriguing story about a man who was wrongfully convicted. It was very easy to watch, and the pacing kept me engaged throughout. Until the very end, it was difficult to guess who the real culprit was. The cast did a great job, and I recognized some of the actors from other projects. I would definitely recommend this series to fans of detective and thriller stories.

This is the 13th series that Harlan Coben has created for Netflix and it may be his lucky number, because it may be the best. I haven’t seen them all, but the two I’ve reviewed both only got 2.5 stars (“Run Away” and “Fool Me Once”). This stars Sam Worthington as a father who’s in prison for brutally killing his son. After 5 years, his sister-in-law (Britt Lower) brings him the news that his son may be alive. He breaks out and goes on one long chase to find the truth. As per Coben, he’s continually putting himself in precarious situations, while the twists and plot holes abound. Fortunately, showrunner Roert Hull has kept has staged it with tense scenarios, while effectively expressing the melodramatic aspects (strong performances help). All this helps this Coben series rise about being just watchable, to actually being involving. (Eight one-hour eps)

I Will Find You is that classic Netflix/Harlan Coben scenario: you start out skeptical, realize that nothing really makes that much sense, complain about three or so absurd plot conveniences… and, before you know it, you’re already on the fifth episode, dying to know who lied, who disappeared, and who’s going to show up with a piece of information pulled straight out of the script’s **** series has a really good premise, with Sam Worthington doing his best to convey all the pain of a desperate father and Britt Lower proving that any production gains a few points when she appears. The problem is that the script seems to operate in “don’t think too much, just hit ‘next episode’” mode. There are improbable escapes, convenient revelations, characters suddenly becoming experts out of nowhere, and emotion getting run over by the next plot twist.Still, it’s impossible to deny: it’s gripping. It doesn’t leave a lasting impression, it doesn’t delve deeply, and it’ll probably fade from memory in a few days, but it delivers that weekend binge-watch that Netflix knows how to package so well.
