Peter gets inspired by his new neighbor, a retired cop, and decides to become a hero. Naturally, things go horribly wrong, and chaos ensues. The humor is solid, with some funny moments, but the story is a little predictable. The characters remain charming, and Stewie’s lines steal the show. The episode’s pacing is decent, but it slows down a bit in the middle. While it’s not the best Family Guy episode, it’s still enjoyable with some laughs. The writing is solid, but the jokes aren’t as sharp as they have been in earlier episodes. The animation and voice acting are consistent and continue to support the humor, but nothing stands out. Ultimately, A Hero Sits Next Door is a fun, if somewhat familiar, episode of Family Guy.
