Ohh my god writing cliché after cliché, bland characters like Gabriel who the writer just keeps in the show despite no originality to it whatsoever, and open doors you see from miles away...season 5 is horrible, and the show is dead to me, especially after how season 5 ****. Also quite racist - of course it's the white guy who will end up with Emily in the end, not the Latin or Black guy.

Although I was familiar with “Emily in Paris”, I decided to rewatch them. The main hero is Emily, a woman from Chicago. She relocated to Paris and started work in a new firm called Savoir. Emily’s story includes a lot of affairs and interesting meetings. She joins her private life and work. Emily can hold on in difficult situations and enjoy the little things. How is her life going on? And what will be?
This series is for people who love affairs, love, genuine emotions and observe real life. I advise you to notice beautiful outfits and scenes while watching.
I recommend you to watch “Emily in Paris”. You can choose the original version for watching, especially if you would like to learn English.

The point of show: Americans are the best persons in the world, French are the worst persons in the world. Racist show, stupid humor, boring plot. Vanity project

Love letter to American exceptionalism, ignorance, and othering of foreign cultures. Racist towards Ukrainian, stereotypes the French as lazy, closed-minded, lecherous, and shallow. None of the characters have any real depth or interesting arcs, with Emily simply solving all of her firms' problems within 10-15 minutes. Uses an Asian character (at least in S1) merely as a vehicle for the all-white writing team to say xenophobic nonsense about the French. Unrealistic depiction of the fashion industry, marketing, the ease of living and working in France without knowing French, and much more.

I personally loved this show. They represent Ukrainians in an odd way, but it's ok. Every other episode there was a very funny joke that made me replay the last 10 seconds of the episode a couple of times. They portray influencers as if they had braincells, but I'm pretty sure that isn't true. There was really nice scenery. In my opinion the characters were really poorly written, and the music couldn't have been matched in a worse way, but it's funny nonetheless. It's very fun to criticize this show among friends, which is what makes it as good as it is. This show also had some really intellectual quotes, I think you'll be able to point them our yourself (the quotes are really **** stupid and I want you to avoid them at all costs) Important note: I loved this show because it's bad in a funny way, not because it's good. Summary: Ukrainians steal, influencers are smart, French people are rude and Paris is made for tourists who wanna go shopping for million dollar clothes.

Are you kidding me? It's not a "Sex and the City" at all. It's not funny and full of cliches. It's not even love or romantic story. The script is week. The actors don't even try to play. Don't waste you time on this crap.

This show has gone off the rails. The plotlines are insipid, stereotypical, superficial, and boring. The musical numbers, while of a high quality, seem like filler--there are just too many of them. Most of the actors can't act. This show has about as much relation to French culture as French fries do.

I was forced to watch several episodes. Could feel my brain cells dying one right after the other. This show is just abomination. "Emily in Paris" is the abomination that tries to be funny, dumb, and cheesy, but only succeeds in being abhorrent.

Don't compare it with "Sex and the City". It's not even cheap copy. It's just hateful boring show with placed propaganda. Absolutely unacceptable and not funny at all. Netflix, remove propaganda from this show, because you spread the hate.

What's the price of your dignity, Netflix? Where is equity, respect? The hate is not acceptable! This show should be cancelled. This show offended the whole nation. It's not only boring, it's harmful because it spreads hate.

This show is just embarrassing. Don't waste your time if you are real fan of humor and fashion. It's not "Sex in the big City" at all. It's cheesy cheap insulting cringe!

The worst tv show I've ever watched. It's not only boring. It promotes sexism, discrimination, racism and hate. It doesn't matter that Emily is stupid. It matters that this show insults France and Paris. Lily Collins doesn't have talent to be actress. The producing of this trash is the shame of her as well. I expected to watch romantic comedy, but in fact it's cheesy trash. As American I'm offended, because it hurts our reputation. I've been in France, so Emily, don't produce hate and trash.

This show is terrible. That's all that needs to be said about it. A show in Paris for someone that has never been to Paris. The insulting of nations and boring script. Avoid this garbage.

This show is so insulting. So many cliches and stereotypes about France and the European way of living. This tv show is trash, because of propaganda placed in this tv show as well. Emily, stop spread propaganda and hate! It's pathetic!

This cringe was one of the worst show I've ever seen. It was basically just a line up of hate, discrimination, cliches and stereotypes. It was so offensive, the way the French and Ukrainian were shown. It was boring and stereotypical. There was nothing funny.

The 4th episod of 2d season is totally shameful and inappropriate as creates and shares a lying portrait of Ukrainian women as stupid, thieves, tasteless... It's offensive to all nation! Racism is unacceptable! This episode should be erased.

This is a ridiculous show. The actors are respected French actors that are being dragged to the world of Americana of silly and quite stereotypical “comedy” in an uncomfortable way to make Americans laugh, probably the ones who don’t travel much. Lacks class and actual culture. I wasted time watching this. If you want to watch a good French series that has a little more spunk, do Call My Agent

It's a well-made fantasy-selling pornography if you're a massive fan of heavily staged romcom. Emily happens to magically get whatever she somehow needs/will be needing at work, while she's a non-professional tourist wandering around the city without any respect for the local culture. it doesn't truly represent the hardship you should make your way thru, once you work as a sales rep., or even just a typical full-time worker. The show irons out the career path of Emily so well all the time, as it should be entitled as pornography. On top of that, one thing that triggers me all the time is that they change the characteristics of characters within just a second. They failed at building emotions for the characters, they just flip the entire mindset of each character to make dramas. (as pornographies should do) While the entire show is being just a fantasy novel without dragons, I loved the presentations of the city. The 4 points are solely from them.

A bland and harmless half hour of light-heartedness and empty headedness. Pretty Lily Collins is the best thing about this comedy series and the writing that has created the stupid situations is the worst. Give this show a miss as there must be something better to watch.

Dies ist eins der besten Serien die ich je gesehen habe. Manche Szenen sind witzig und manche spannend

Sex and the City style has aged so badly. They wanted to make Emily a kind of modern Carrie Bradshaw, but it was such a failed attempt. Putting a pseudo-sex-and-the-city in a Parisian context just makes the whole thing so much contrived and unconvincing.

A vapid waste of time written by people who seem to think influencers are intellectual powerhouses rather than the self-important narcissists they actually are. Sliding razor blades slowly across your corneas is a more enjoyable experience than watching this garbage.

Beautiful. Whimsical. This is a picturesque rom-com filled with complicated romances and a mostly memorable cast. The unrealistic energy and **** tone that Lily Collins brings to her marketing career is elevated by her unapproving and practical boss, Sylvie, played by Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu. If you forgive the deliberate attempts to engage Western audiences with common French stereotypes and tropes that may offend some, you will find a rom-com jewel, that is wild and alluring but never dull. Those accents of scenic and street-level views of Parisian life alone appear to raise this show to a playful art in its own genre.

Beautiful scenery of Paris other wise a waste of time. The amount of cliches in this piece of trash is immense, and the acting is worse than a primary play.

What happened to Lily Collins' decent acting skills? There's a lot of overacting in Emily In Paris, the plot is unoriginal and unrealistic, it's like a very bad copy of Devil Wears Prada... with more accidents, cliches, liaisons and unaffordable clothes.

The setting, music, and cinematography are well done and all of the actors are very attractive, so visually it's very pleasing but it's just not realistic at all unless you are among the very well paid salaried workers. She basically lives, works, and hangs out in the most charming areas of Paris and everyone she is around, including herself, look like models / former models. Both the culture clash (American in Paris) and the romance and the tension with other women are all really cliche. On the one hand, the mostly idyllic alt-reality escapism feels good at a time like we're in right now, but at the same time, if you're not well off and living a similar bougie lifestyle, it's very easy to feel envious and frustrated real life is nothing like this. Highly recommend watching Call My Agent! instead, an actual French comedy-drama series that is more realistic, though it exaggerates things for humor, and much better written. One of the actresses is actually in both shows. It's also on US Netflix right now with subtitles.

It's just light, Darren Star-style fun, and I appreciate it at that level. Crazy that Parisians are taking offense. But hey, I get it. They were a touch **** last time I was over there.

Emily isn’t authentic all the way, and it’s a little bit painful to look at a borrowed (from Instagram) mask, not a human being at a place of human being. Such a psychological issue in this character - I think, the show authors didn’t plan it. However all the world around her is pretty Instagramish, false and flat, so probably that’s a psychedelic story in the spirit of 60s.

As a French person living in Paris, I feel highly offended by this piece of trash. Okay maybe not offended but It still is garbage. It's not funny and it feels like a Disney adaptation of Paris in a white privileged capitalist environment(which 99% of people do not have access to) This is far from reality and I hope people do not start believing this is how life is. Also, her carbon footprint is too high, she should be taking the velib(city bike of Paris) and the metro as a real Parisian. This tv show also glamorizing marketing, it is way less fascinating in real life. The only good part is that they denounce sexism in French culture.

Very refreshing plot, playing with prejustices, brings a depth, which one would not expect in this kind of series, full of humor, not so uptight and of course bring the social justice warriors on stage. I love the politically incorrectness

As I was missing my year spend in Paris, I decided to try Emily in Paris, and to be honest?
Its a tv show about a bunch of white privileged american people, making fun about everything they do not understand about the french culture. (and so so many clichés about french, its SO BORING !) The (french) actors are overplaying, although some are good actors, I guess its to make Lily Collins appear mor natural on her role.
Its a very boring and eastern depiction of Paris, sure Paris is un musée à ciel ouvert, but its also a very multi-cultural city, and you have to take the metro to visit it, its not only the 1st, 5th and 16th arrondissement. Anyway, I really get Sylvie when she explains to Emily why she does not like her and I guess that only americans can appreciate this soapy tv show.
If you really wanna have a glimpse of how life is in Paris, well just watch french series.
A bon entendeur.

Just what I needed! I marathoned the entire season last night. I laughed and smiled feeling las if I was watching the child series of The Devil wears Prada and Sex and the city! I loved the acting, the setting and the plot line! 100% recommended!!
