The only way I can describe The Girl in the Fireplace is that it is pure, unfiltered, Doctor Who. The setting being between a spaceship from the far future and France in the 1800s is already a genius idea that fits in with the show perfectly, but also Moffat is excellent at writing tragic romances. This story is magical yet dark, humorous yet depressing, and overall, near perfect.
