People are mean to this one. Sure, the side characters aren't great, but Elton is an interesting and nicely developed lead, and Russell's usual cheesy, one-dimensional villain actually contrasts well with the more serious, well-rounded protagonist of the story. This episode feels like a breath of fresh air while at the same time very much being another episode of Doctor Who.
