I guess season 1 episode 1 is some kind of sorting out the people with taste?

A dystopian sci-fi anthology, Black Mirror is a futuristic show about what happens when technology goes too far. The quality varies, but there are some interesting, thought-provoking episodes.

The 1st episode could have been great... but it is just too predictable, very boring, and shallow.... I'm disappointed,,,

There are interesting episodes, but there are also a lot of boring episodes. The series evokes mixed feelings, but it's not bad.

I don't understand the hype of the series, after a couple of episodes it's kind obvious that this show loves to display some kind of psychological torture. I'd question the mental health of anyone enjoying this type of programme.

By episode 2, it is clear that BM no longer focuses on dystopian tech futures. Instead, it focuses on politically correct casting (to the point of distraction) and vanilla mystery and supernatural themes. Yawn. We can find this sort of content from all over bland Hollywood already. Apparently, the predictions and exploration **** tech dystopia hits a little too close to the truth these days, especially since the COVID lockdowns. Netflix has unfortunately ruined the franchise. Such a shame the creator would rather take the paycheck than stand firm with integrity. Boring, vanilla. Safe for the establishment.

Season 7 is as good as any of the previous 6 seasons. Perhaps it is the best - although, it is difficult to measure Black Mirror against itself. The quality of its writing is a score of 10 sometimes, 9 for other episodes - with an occasional 8 or 7. The range of material is very broad so individuals will have their personal feelings regarding individual episodes. The production values generally score around a 7. They are good - but, Black Mirror is about the writing - everything else is just there to deliver the writing. The best acting in season seven is from Paul Giamatti in the fifth episode, "Eulogy". If your predilection is acting, episode 5 will be your favorite. earlier... It's 2025, season 7 has not yet arrived - and I've just rewatched some random episodes from the first 6 seasons. I've decided to raise my score from 8 to 9. Obviously, not every episode is a 9 - but, taken as a whole - IMHO, Black Mirror is one of the best things done in film - especially within the context of what is most relevant over the last 10 years. I've just watched the trailer to season 6 and I just realized I never wrote a review of the overall Black Mirror series. And, I have a great admiration for the series and especially Charlie Brooker's writing. I've always appreciated Black Mirror's wide-ranging views. The episodes are very diverse in their genres and viewpoints - so, it is very difficult to apply a rating to the entire series or just one season. I would think most individuals would find at least one episode from each season that resonates with them. I think it would take a very eclectic personality that could appreciate all or even most of the episodes in a single season. The overall production values are always in the rating of 6 to 8 - which you would expect from a Netflix series with its size of budget. Casting, acting, directing, editing, cinematography are all always good. Writing, of course is where Charlie Brooker makes each episode what it is. He has had his challenges of meshing his messages with whatever social-issue dynamic is currently in play at any time. It seems he is intelligent and perceptive in dealing with the difficulties of being a significant player in today's social environment. In my opinion, his writing is among the best in the industry at this time. So - how do you give a rating to an anthology series that is all over the broad range of scope and subject. Do you rate each episode and average it out? It seems some individuals want to pick out the episodes they most dislike and focus on that. I'm doing just the opposite of that... I'm basing my rating on the top third of the episodes I most like.

I've watched anthology shows for the last 40 years, since I was a kid, and there's virtually nothing I don't like (including 2020's Amazing Stories). I despised Black Mirror and suspect most of these reviews are Netflix employees trying to drum up more numbers for investors. The acting in this show is mediocre and the plotlines are basically Twilight Zone episodes with a modern setting (and without the charming quirks). Tastes change over the years, I get this, but I loved modern movies like Smile. Something about Black Mirror is disturbing, that's for sure, but it's unpleasantly disturbing and so poorly acted that it's impossible to enjoy even the decent storylines.

Las 3 primeras temporadas son muy buenas, sobre todo capítulos como 15 Million Merits o White Christmas, pero el ultimo par de temporadas particularmente la ultima son bastante peores.

Black Mirror is a fantastic weird sci-fi series. Season 1-4 were absolutely amazing with great acting, stories and endings. This series is really making me sweat and I feel disturbed.(I mean this in a good way) Season 1-4: 9/10 But then, season 5. What the hell happened? These episodes are by Black Mirror standards just bad at almost every aspect. So I have to drop it down to a 8/10

This television show will leave with you with a feeling extreme disquietude. One of, or if not, the best show ever made hands down.

I’m not sure any of the three episodes on offer here will ever be considered amongst Black Mirror’s very best, but the episodes ‘Smithereens’ and ‘Rachel, Jack and Ashley Too’ were still very good, and Striking Vipers was well… interesting!

that was the best serie i had ever seen in my life. What a cool desings... The ambiance of course...

The series perfectly portrays the future, which awaits us very soon. The episodes are not connected in any way and you can stop watching it at any moment, but I promise you will return to it.

Pure Art!Literally don't even try to binge watch all episodes in a day or two really u will get a kind-of shock and unsettle feeling,some people say its very dark i say watch Dora the explorer instead.Literally whole series has like 22 episodes or so every episode is very unique and brilliantly crafted each and every aspects in it is literally mind-blowingly great,Music was **** intro was like unsettle and dark indicating whats all this about,the song of "who knows what love is" is amazing and kind-of thing to tie all episodes in same universe it was a awesome **** acting in each episode it iconic,the best episode in whole series is The white Christmas it was pure brilliant and shocking **** weak not worst episode is waldo moment as per me,the detailed and pure shocking episode would be Black museum,the tech's and gadgets thing and the unsettling way human brain uses it and all it was literally awesome from start,the starting episode is enough to grab the interest,Overall this series is Dark as hell it was philosophically,mentally/psychologically challenging it was thought provoking and self questioning,sometimes it was lite minded and good with nostalgia and sometimes it was ground-breaking,brain-teasing,mind-blowing,shocking,surprising and great,literally words can't describe such TV show it is Pure Art it was DARK,challenging and literally A Masterpiece,The greatest Anthology series about tech in future period!A Must watch!

We don’t need to describe every detail of this series. These few words legendary, iconic and masterful are enough to describe it! The best series I ever watched!

Black Mirror, Season 5, 3 hour-long episodes. Ep1, Striking Vipers (60 mins): Charlie Brooker's premise is that there's no sex like VR sex. Danny and Karl, a pair of straight black guys, experience sexual-confusion when they play a VR fight-game "Striking Vipers X", one whose avatar is a hot blond chick and the other a hot asian dude. After their first awkward VR kiss, there's very little fighting and a whole lot of R-rated soft porn - yes, you have to suspend a WHOLE LOT of your critical thinking to let this play out. Danny is married and boinking wife Theo for a kid but his torrid albeit confusing affair with Karl's avatar in "Striking Vipers X" is adversely affecting those efforts. She suspects something but he's committed to the lie till he can't, then just forget the ending because that is NOT how things would play out, but Black Mirror is more about stretching the possible than adhering to the likely. Episode is about twice as long than it needs to be. Rating: 7 of 10 Ep 2, Smithereens (70 mins): Charlie Brooker's cautionary tale of social media's responsibility in distracted driving. This episode delivers commentary on several elements of technology: the inherent insecurity of ride sharing, how social media founders have lost control over their creations, and how easy it can be to surmount rigid password privacy rules if you're connected. Episode is about 1/3 longer than it needs to be. Rating: 8 of 10, has a touching moment or two Ep 3, Rachel, Jack, and Ashley Too (67 mins): Miley Cyrus plays Ashley O, a famous pop singer victimized by an overlording adoptive aunt and her coterie. Rachel is a young femme fan of Ashley's and even more so when Ashley releases a tiny android version of herself called "Ashley Too" to help young girls build self-esteem and confidence. Once the full potential of the little droid is realized though, it unleashes the full, profanity-laden personality of Ashley O. There's another tech element to this but it's not worth describing since the whole episode is marred by three things: first, its target demo is tween girls and guess who doesn't watch "Black Mirror" at all? Yeh, tween girls. Second, Miley Cyrus as pop star plays more to her fantasy than ours, and her voicing the "Ashley Too" bot is so raw and without any voice-over talent, it just sounds like her talking/swearing in normal voice. And third, throughout the episode she sings a butchered pop version of "Head Like a Hole" (Nine Inch Nails, 1989) and it just grates your soul. Pretty decent show similar to a "Twilight Zone" feel with technology pros and cons in today's society.

This show captures that anthology essence of Twilight Zone but can be a bit too cruel at times.
