It’s equal parts modern fairy tale, time-travel movie that’s meant to make people understand and appreciate their own era, and Christmas magic movie, and the creators don’t do anything meaningful to refresh those genre trappings, or play with their conventions.

Officially not Kate & Leopold (2001) remake, but the main plot idea is actually being taken from there. Romantic fantasy movie with a little bit of comedy. Pretty warm and cute anyway. After watching, i was not surprised at all about sex of director. Vibe of woman's hands is feeling like snow in the air of the season (same as for The Mirror has two faces, What Women Want). Monika Mitchell's film definitely have that kind fairytale attitude. Unfortunately, lots of awkward moments and old cliches. The cast was totally unknown and full of personal introductions. Vanessa Hudgens acts emotionally. It was good idea to take Englishman Josh Whitehouse for knight of that places, but this role demonstrates in some case poor acting skills.Such time travelling comedy is definetely worse than in Les Visiteurs (1993) and it's first sequel. Well, first cinema experience of watching original knowing so little about. Got some wordplays as butcher, baker, candlestick maker. Understood the whole idea, but not most of dialogues. 6/10

A strangely charming holiday movie. It’s very predictable, but it feels like the movie is fine with that. It’s well acted and the characters are likable. I wouldn’t schedule my day around it, but it’s worth a lazy Sunday-afternoon viewing.

On the whole, The Knight Before Christmas is one to skip, a sweet nothing that’s a lot more “nothing” than sweet.

Arguably one of the better Christmas movies released this year and it's somewhat original - at least I never heard of such a story. However, the plot lacks consistency which could be overlooked. One thing though: Despite being a Christmas movie, it lacks the cheer and joyfulness aka what make Christmas, Christmas.

Vanessa Hudgens is a talented lead and if you're into Christmas movies and rom-coms, this film could probably scratch your itch. It just didn't do much to scratch mine

A soulless, empty assault on any and all other cinematic works trying (even a little) to do something honest with the filmic medium, "The Knight Before Christmas" is exactly what it sounds like it is -- a nearly unwatchable slog through every woeful beat and cliche you've ever seen in any movie like this ever, with a razor thin concept that most likely came about after this borderline morally reprehensible title did first, and a thematic backbone so shriveled and meager, it'd make even the most loyal of Hallmark junkies cry foul. Easily one of the year's worst.
