The pacing can be too stately, but an impressive ensemble working through a surfeit of good ideas compensates for the lack of jump scares.

While some creepy and unsettling events are in the film, none truly rise to a level most would recognize as horror. There are a few minor jump scares, but this film lives in its own realm.

No es LA película pero sin duda me gusto y la actuación de Russell Crowe es buenísima.

I don’t know what everybody’s barking about. I thought this was alright. The script is a bit week and that seems to be the general complaint about this film, but I think Russell’s performance kept me tuned in, and I thought David Hyde Pierce played an interesting role here - certainly a far departure from his famous Niles Crane character that we’ve all grown to love. So my final thoughts?? This film has its own unique visual appeal to it - not the greatest film but I don’t think it was as bad as what everyone is saying.

Crowe’s performance is The Exorcism’s saving grace. His dedication to crafting a character whose struggles he wears on his sleeve elevates the lackluster horror elements that are consistently on display, but that don’t do much for the overall story.

The darker the movie gets, the less there is at stake, and the more that Crowe seems to be going through the motions of trying to save not his soul but his career.

By the climax, The Exorcism is buried in plot points that obscure whatever the power of Christ is compelling us to do.

[Miller] is a far better director than he is a writer though, and the film is crisply, thoughtfully made, at the least looking like it belongs on the big screen.

The tone of “The Exorcism” is deadly serious, but one wonders if the premise might have worked better as a scary comedy rather than as a scary drama.

Aunque el ritmo no es el mejor, tiene buen trabajo detrás y Russell Crowe hace como siempre un buen trabajo.

Russel Crowe is wasted in this boring and half-hearted attempt at some cheap exorcist connections and rehashed imagery.

Clunky and poorly paced, plus it seemed like a third of the film was missIng.

Russel Crowe literally folded like a paper in front of everyone, and they all moved like it was nothing. I have seen many "denials" in horror so movies can continue, but this one was one of the top ones. Sorry but no.

I'm not exactly sure what I just watched. Started out decent but slowly turned into a mess.
