Um dos filmes mais lineares do Buñuel, com uma história de amor fada ao fracasso. Acredito que assistí-lo na década de 1970 fez mais sentido para reforçar a dicotomia entre o macho tóxico e a pegada feminista da protagonista, com elementos de liberade sexual e limitações freudianas do desejo, potencializados pela época. Visto hoje, em pleno século XXI, uma história com personagens bem chatos mesmo. Ao menos aqui o Buñuel acerta no tom da mesquinhez burguesa.

Buñuel's last film leaves me with a modest impression, but far from the veneration that has been bestowed upon it. Mostly because, despite his mastery, this story feels distant, cold and somewhat superficial. It's still a good movie, of course, but I wasn't blown away.
