A weak plot coupled with not enough conflict to warrant any sort of tension. This contributes to little character development and in the end, a resolution that hardly justifies the time investment in seeing the film.

As stated, this sci-fi film is slow-paced but it’s necessary to provide Lars the chance to allow the audience to accompany him on his journey of self-discovery. When we all arrive at the destination together, it’s a journey worthwhile taking.

The absence of proper story reconciliation and the failure of jokes to land make this film a disappointment. It’s a shame though because there was so much to work with that, if pared down to one single hero’s story, could have been funnier and enjoyable.

The starkness and unique nature of this story make this film an emotionally compelling watch. Despite the slow pace, the connection with Adeline and the hope for the safety of this plucky and resourceful teenager holds our attention. And the solid cast makes the movie breathe.

It’s amazing the comic storytelling that can happen with a small, talented cast, an intelligent script and an adult premise that’s simple in concept but intricate in execution.

Ultimately, Supergirl is a story of dealing with loss and managing grief. It’s a movie that reminds us to celebrate what we have instead of wasting energy mourning what we’ve lost. Loss is emotional kryptonite we all share, and it’s clear that Supergirl, despite all her incredible power, also feels it.

It’s a winning film. Plenty of ‘80s vibes but a lot of fun to be seen and shared with multiple generations of viewers.

A definite crowd-pleaser for Star Wars fans and fans of the Mandalorian TV series. The Mandalorian and Grogu delivers exactly what it promises ... with some well-pulled heartstrings in all the right places.

The Wizard of the Kremlin is one of those rare dramatized histories that seamlessly blends facts with fiction.

It’s difficult to assess what’s more compelling in this story: the characters, real Canadian salt-of-the-earth people who were that desperate enough to go through with the scheme, or the actual simplicity and near-success of the scheme itself.
