Poltergeist III is another sequel that seems to exist for no better reason than justifying its title and number.

Poltergeist III suffers from bad casting and from the actors' having been encouraged to behave as if sampling an exciting new toothpaste; everyone smiles unreasonably, except when screaming.

The music is not good, that was the first thing that hit me. The conversations also didn’t feel natural like they were stilted which was not helped by the editing, they cut to the person just before they speak which is unnatural. This is the most blunt force entry into the trilogy. There is weaker acting from the main cast and the background artists. What is great is that it’s not just more of the same. Which follows my theory of good sequels: make a great film, make another one the same, do one a bit different. There are lots of great practical effects involving mirrors which really carried the film. It’s quite well paced as there are so many effects and lots happening but not especially engaging as the characters are very forgettable except Carol Anne. The father figure is so creepy it’s mega cringe and there’s no explanation for why he acts so creepy. The writing is definitely the weakest aspect of this film, every other aspect just about holds its own. The ending is a massive anti-climax.

Poltergeist III is a 1988 horror directed by Gary Sherman... Poltergeist III see's the return of Heather O'Rourke but she's now living with relatives or other family members or something in a high rise tower block I think.. Everything seems roses until the evil forces return for her and you see the return of Kane obviously played by a different actor. The acting in Poltergeist III is pretty much non existent and all rather laughably bad however I still liked Heather O'Rourke's performance in Poltergeist III even though not as good as the original she gets my love for still being adorable and a princess but the other characters and acting in the film is hideous. Zelda Rubinstein's performance is cringey, Nancy Allen is laughable and Tom Skerrit looks out of place, Lara Flynn Boyle is a bit silly and the other cast is somewhat **** special effects if there was any are horrible and all we get is cracked mirrors, scenes of fog or smoke, the evil Kane and cheap scares that are more comedy than anything and look pathetically weak and laughably bad... Poltergeist III is one of the worst movies ever made so stick to the original Poltergeist made in 1982 and avoid this disaster of a sequel called Poltergeist III which is a horror but the only real horror was it ever being made.

At its best, Poltergeist III recalls that surreal mix of DIY ingenuity and narrative ineptitude that mark some of Lucio Fulci’s lesser efforts. At its worst, well, it’s just another soulless, hacky-tacky horror sequel.

Gary Sherman, the film's cowriter and director, has set up a showcase for scary effects, and some of them are rather nice, in a grisly sort of way. It's clear that Sherman knows how to engineer this sort of thing. What's also clear is that without some semblance of an actual movie around them, these pyrotechnics really start to get on your nerves.

A low-budget sequel which tries, and fails, to make a virtue out of adversity by substituting cheap mechanical effects for the expensive light and magic of Parts I and II.
25
Director Gary Sherman, a special effects maven who also co-wrote the movie, soon gives in to heavy-handed cliche.

The second sequel to the hit 1982 haunted-house extravaganza is an erratic affair, containing some promising ideas and clever effects that, unfortunately, are haphazardly presented in a narrative so perfunctory as to be almost nonexistent.

Poltergeist directed by Tobe Hooper in 1982 wasn't scary but it's a damn well made and good horror film with beautiful acting especially from Heather O'Rourke as Carol Ann Feeling who sadly passed away in real life so rest in peace, Heather.. The sequel to Poltergeist which is Poltergeist II wasn't bad but nowhere near as good as the original. So how could Poltergeist III top the previous two movies is the big question we all wanna know and the answer lies deep within this sequel called POLTERGEIST III so sit back and enjoy. Heather O'Rourke returns in Poltergeist III and is living with a bunch of unknowns instead of her proper family in the previous two movies. Nancy Allen and Tom Skerrit (Alien) are looking after Heather O'Rourke vin a high rise complex building. The evil Kane from the second movie although this time not played by Julian Beck returns to wreak havoc on Heather O'Rourke. Sadly the film is laughable with terrible scene after terrible scene and pretty much everything made no sense in this movie and it was poor. The weakest in the Poltergeist trilogy of movies by miles!!!
