Permission asks difficult questions and doesn't offer easy answers. But while it deals with heavy relationship issues including the validity of monogamy, it manages an easy, seemingly effortless humor that seduces the audience while simultaneously breaking filmgoers' hearts.

What is most unexpected about Permission is its sense of poignancy and tenderness. In its own way, it's quite heartbreaking.

This movie at first felt like a weird version of a soft porn with expanded plot. Obviously this was due to it's bad pacing and struggling to establish immersion with the characters and their problems. But after a while it picked up with itself and became fun and entertaining to watch. The character's where amazing and very well acted, except for a few emotional **** directing style was average at best. And the plot was overall decent at best, but the twists where good, and made it more unpredictable for the viewers. It somehow evaded the cliche tag, because of it's dramatic ending and the real message it delivered witch was really original and a first for most of the general audience. The complete lack of music was really bad and a missed opportunity for greater immersion and depth for the characters, and dramatic effect. Overall it was a good movie which had a really genuine plot and interesting events with a lot of interesting and entertaining elements that where done good, but it certainly could have been better if the directing style was more creative in some ways and the humor wasn't as awkward as it was. Anyway the message of the movie is a strong and real one which was treated with seriousness.

Personally, I liked it, I've seen a lot of bad romantic comedies and this one it's slightly above the average. The only thing that disappointed me is that even though its premise is an adult premise, the development and the characters don't treat it that way, which is a shame. Perhaps the director believed that viewers wouldn't find it more attractive if he didn't give it that goofy touch of other several rom-coms. On the bright side, it could've been worse but it manages to stay afloat to keep things amusing.

Every now and then you run across a film in which a really talented cast takes a crack at a well-worn genre entry. For the most part, that’s what Permission is, though writer and director Brian Crano tosses in a couple of wrinkles.

Almost everything about Permission feels flighty and parochial when laid beside the fateful mire of “Loveless,” yet Hall, in particular, lends a sober grace to the erotic roundelay.

Ultimately, the film becomes a love letter to Hall, and that's what saves it. She's such a beautiful, prickly, intelligent, singular presence that you root for Anna, no matter how many questionable choices she and the film make.

This earnest, deadly serious character study has few moments of levity, mostly provided by an arch Gina Gershon, still as intoxicating and seductive as she was in Bound.

Trafficking in familiar themes, Permission ultimately doesn't have anything very new to say about them.

How can you be certain he is the one, if he is the only one?
