No Strings Attached

Ivan Reitman directed, with great verve and unflagging finesse, from a terrifically funny script by Elizabeth Meriwether.

At times, No Strings Attached feels almost shockingly attuned to the particular angst of its time and place.

There are fitful sparks between him (Kutcher) and Portman, but he is unable to sustain viewer interest in his character. She becomes the dominant figure and that throws off No Strings Attached's balance and impacts the all-important chemistry.

A foul-mouthed comedy, which isn't necessarily a bad thing. "Bad Santa" (2003) also had plenty of crude language and lewd behavior. The difference is, "Bad Santa" was extremely funny.

You've seen worse. The film industry is capable of better.

No Strings wants to be raunchy enough to pull in the dude crowd and snuggly enough to draw couples on dates. Instead, it's an inoffensive bore with occasional R-rated sex scenes that strain for cutesy shock value.

On the bright side, Ivan Reitman's disappointing new comedy isn't just cheap and formulaic, but so forgettable few people will even remember she (Portman) was in it.

Cutesy,feel good movie..Simple stroy line but the presention was so good

No Strings Attached provides the audience with a twist on the typical romantic-comedy and can be enjoyed by both men and women alike. The Portman-Kutcher pairing works well in the film as the duo provides the viewer with endless entertainment. The humor in the film is very modern and specifically targeted towards today's generation. By having a female writer, something that is not typical of present day comedies, we are given a fresh and new perspective on relationships, friendships, and sex. While the plot is highly predictable, No Strings Attached is a good choice if you are just looking for a feel good romantic comedy.

"No Strings Attached" is a good Rom-Com but could have been a lot better ! Actually I thought it would be a lot better but it failed ! With an amazing cast like Natalie & Aston the film was quite boring ! It could be a lot more funnier but the script was so weak . Ivan failed to make it better ! Natalie was the best thing in this movie ! Aston was Good and that's it..... There is completely NO chemistry between the two characters, which makes movie is so dull. Despite my love for Natalie Portman, I could not even finish this film, even when I was already forwarding it...

Unfortunately this does not work on many levels. There is no chemistry between the leads and in particular Portman is unconvincing and detached. The script is distasteful but on the bright side one that I will quickly forget.
