Jason Statham effortlessly channels his signature British action tough-guy charm. While Mutiny is competent and passable, it remains a familiar, if unsurprising, experience for Statham or fans of classic action cinema.

Jason Statham on a cargo ship, surrounded by criminals with nowhere to run. In theory, that alone should be enough to make the whole movie work.Mutiny does deliver a few solid action scenes, with Statham using tight corridors, pipes, metal bars, and basically anything within reach to turn someone into a statistic. The problem is everything in **** script tries to juggle revenge, human trafficking, and corporate conspiracy, but none of those ideas gets enough room to really land. At times, it feels like the movie is just filling space until the next fight arrives.Even the cargo ship, which should make everything feel more tense and claustrophobic, ends up becoming a repeated backdrop of corridors and **** the end, maybe the movie just needed to trust the basics a little more: Jason Statham, a ship full of criminals, and fewer people explaining why he needs to beat everyone up.

The usual Statham film! No surprises. Statham is ok, in fact the acting throughout is all ok. Very formulaic. Average at best. I'd probably watch it again, but not for a long time, and only if I was bored!

Mutiny is not an absolutely terrible action movie. The action is competently made, the pacing becomes acceptable, the story mostly follows its own logic and Roland Møller gives a genuinely good supporting **** I walked out of the cinema feeling that I had wasted my time. That is why this falls below my 5/10 pass mark.Jason Statham is perfectly good at playing the type of character Jason Statham has played many times before. He has the necessary physicality and screen presence, and you believe him when he fights people. The problem is that there is practically nothing new here. If you are a Statham fan who simply wants another Statham action movie, that may be enough. For me, it felt like another product from a familiar formula.Roland Møller is the performance I actually want to praise. He gives the villain presence and makes him more interesting than the screenplay does. He is probably the only actor I specifically thought about after leaving the **** action itself is okay. I cannot remember a fight or set piece that made me think I had seen something exceptional. The choreography and filmmaking reach the level expected from a professional Hollywood production, but never rise much above **** visual element that works is the ship. The cinematography gives it convincing scale and makes it feel enormous without turning it into an absurd environment. Since so much of the movie takes place there, that sense of space **** plot, unfortunately, is boring. It uses a tried-and-tested conspiracy/action formula without enough character development or originality to make it interesting. There is one piece of storytelling I liked. Without spoiling anything, the movie deliberately makes you suspect that something strange is happening. You develop an idea about what it might be, and you are partly correct, but the truth is not exactly what you initially expect. That kind of misdirection is welcome because the movie gives you enough information to become suspicious without completely revealing the answer.I wish more of the story had worked like **** film deserves some credit for generally making logical sense. There are much worse action movies where characters cause absurd amounts of destruction or kill dozens of people with virtually no believable consequences. Some of the later Taken movies come to mind. Mutiny never became that ridiculous for me.Unfortunately, being less stupid than bad action movies does not automatically make something **** beginning is too slow. Slow pacing would be fine if the film were using that time to build psychologically interesting characters, but it is not. I mostly felt as though I was waiting for the action movie to start.Once it does, the pacing improves. I was never completely bored for the entire movie, and I was certainly less disengaged and confused than I was with something like Dead Man's Wire. Mutiny remains easy enough to follow.I just did not care very **** dialogue is functional. There is not much of it, and because this is an action movie I did not expect lengthy philosophical conversations. Characters say what the plot needs them to say. Nothing stood out as especially bad, but nothing was particularly memorable **** soundtrack was similarly forgettable. Thinking back, there were moments where the background music worked reasonably well, so I would not call the score bad. I simply barely noticed **** editing is competent enough to keep the action understandable. It avoids the kind of frantic cutting that can destroy fight choreography, but it also does nothing especially distinctive. This movie is useful for defining my increasingly strict rating scale.A 5/10 is an average movie that I still feel was worthwhile enough to watch. I may not recommend paying cinema prices, but I was entertained and do not regret spending my time on it.A 4/10 is different. There can still be good elements, but the overall experience is negative. That is where Mutiny lands.Statham is fine. Møller is good. The ship looks convincing. Some of the action works. The plot contains one decent piece of misdirection, and the movie generally makes logical **** it is also generic, predictable, occasionally boring and almost completely forgettable.I would not pay to see it in a cinema. Wait until it appears on a streaming service you already have. If you are a Jason Statham fan or simply love this exact type of action thriller, you might enjoy it more than I **** is nowhere near disastrous enough for my lowest ratings. I did not hate it and was not completely **** I did leave feeling that watching it had been a waste of **** real mutiny was my attention abandoning ship.

It was fun. Story starts very quickly and is enjoyable throughout. The movie ends fairly abruptly but still a decent ending.

I’m a Statham fan. I still see all of his movies. They’re not all great, of course, but they’re usually a good time in one way or another. Not Mutiny. It’s bad. Is there anything redeeming? Yeah, a few good violent moments, a couple funny”so-bad-it’s-good” acting/writing moments. But it’s not enough. I felt icky afterward, like what am I doing spending time and money on this?

Statham is his usual self. The film delivers exactly what you expect—nothing more. The filmmaker’s peak creativity amounts to nothing more than showing the final sequence right at the very beginning. So what? Is that supposed to evoke some special feeling? I doubt it.
*Mutiny* is the kind of movie you might watch tonight but will likely forget by tomorrow. As I said, it is simply exactly what you expect it to be—and nothing else.

We all know that you will not get a thrilling story. Its the same over and over again.
Jason Statham is the modern day Steven Segal, who's movies was all about revenge and kickin azz. Nothing new with Stathams movie.. they are all the same.
But all in all, its only fun when combat starts.. the rest are easily scrubbed pass.

Solid action movie. Well constructed. Tight script. Very little lag time. Better then I thought it would be and better than the usual Stratham film.

"I have this great idea! Jason Statham plays this normal dude with a normal job but actually, he is a hidden badass! Now, he is caught up in a situation where he has got to stop this evil guy!" ~ some screenwriter for the 4th time in a row

Anyone who has seen any of Jason Statham’s previous movies should have a better than average idea of what they should expect. So if you decide you are going to invest in his latest movie, Mutiny, which he also produces, you do know what you are going to be served. So it was on that basis I went along to see Mutiny this afternoon. It did not disappoint. It had all the action you would expect and a storyline that just about passed the credibility **** gripes from me. I was surprised to see Ramon Tikaram appear as he wasn’t mentioned in the cast list that I saw. Whilst not a gripe, I wasn’t sure if Annabella Wallis was correctly cast as the 3rd Officer on board the Artemis. Can you have a quibble for someone being too pretty with killer cheekbones? Perhaps not. I throughly enjoyed it. A million miles away from that pile of excrement Expendables 4.

Another average Statham movie- no better or worse than most of the others. The plot has major holes but that is to be expected. A little slower paced than many others.
