The movie briefly suggests Viola is an incestuous psychotic.

Ultimately one flat-footed beast.

A fairly tedious, stupid picture.

This vapid, mean-spirited comedy is Lopez's show, and though she is utterly unconvincing as a paragon of down-to-earth virtues, the last laugh was hers from the outset.

The comedy is shamelessly stupid and flagrantly vulgar by turns.

It's not hard to imagine the militant Jane Fonda of 1972 angrily denouncing Monster-In-Law as insulting Hollywood claptrap trafficking in regressive, reactionary, blatantly sexist gender codes. And she'd be right.

No offense but Lopez is a sexy singer but she no clue how to act. This movie is an insane comedy but i do often find this movie charming and hilarious, Jane Fonda plays the famous **** mom who doesn't like Charlie marrying her son Kevin (Michael Vartan), Lopez tries really hard the more hard she tries the more she fails. Her acting skills are okay she just picks the dumb roles. Grade B-

An entertaining film but with some dull moments.

This was not the movie I expected it to be. I don't think it holds together very well and feels like a collection of skits as opposed to a cohesive film. Would not watch it again.

Jennifer Lopez is a total loser. Does she really think she can act???? Fonda was quite funny even with the stupid jokes she was given. Maybe if someone actually wrote the script with a little brain power it could have been better.

Monster-in-Law was a horrible movie. It was barely funny and it very cliche and predictable. I love Jennifer Lopez, but this movie **** big time. Jennifer Lopez is not only a good singer, but a good actress too, but she seriously needs to choose much better roles! The only good thing about this movie was Wanda Sykes as Viola’s (Jane Fonda’s titular character) assistant and sidekick. Jane Fonda overacted her role and Jennifer Lopez underacted her role in this movie.
