Little Wing

It has heart, and is a well-meant attempt, but falls short of what could have been a lot of emotions and fun. Brian Cox, as always was a treat. Too much narration, not so good acting, and lacking screenplay brought the film down. Also, it takes itself more seriously than it should have. You can have sombre moments, but what should have been (other) fun moments fall flat.

(Mauro Lanari) In Portland, a couple divorce and their two teenage children convert "the period of emotional upheaval" into an existential crisis traumatically comparable to that of a Vietnam veteran with lung cancer. In the midst of a poster of "Ghost in the Shell" (Oshii 1995), "Spellbound" (Siouxsie and the Banshees 1981), gothic aesthetics and suicidal ideations, starting with the 13-year-old (hurricane) Kaitlyn, all the protagonists will find the meaning of life: it's "sweet" (sic). Trivializing tearjerker.
