As undercooked as ‘Jacqueline’ can be, the movie oddly comes to life at the end with its themes of pointlessness and God laughing at your plans finally coming full circle.

Part of the problem of Jacqueline (Argentine) is that it wants to be a film of many layers but Britto doesn’t have the know-how to keep each layer legible separately, with the final result feeling messy and impenetrable rather than admirably complex and, well, layered

Gets points for originality but quickly succumbs to terminal self-amusement.

Jacqueline (Argentine) isn’t just a bad movie – there are plenty of those. It’s infuriating.
