Iron Sky

Much more amusing in theory than in execution.

Vuorensola's sci-fi comedy is uneven, its humor never quite matching the luster of its visuals.

It's not terrible, by any means: just not nearly as funny or cruel as its killer premise suggests.

i really enjoyed the film and game i have watched it 20+ times and still not get bored plus the actors play their parts well and the way the film mocks usa is funny and one of the most important things is that Julia Dietze plays renate and she is Sexy and speaks good english :D but i would of liked it more if James would of stayed black throughout the film but the ending came far too soon and it wasnt as happy as i thought because i would of rather of had the film ending take place 2 months later where the **** were on earth and renate and james were married

thought it was a pretty good B movie but probably could have been a bit more camp with the **** theme not really used to its ultimate... very good special effects for a low budget flick

Iron Sky is definitely a fun movie . With the mixer of si-fi and comedy its just never boring . Good story , it was so different and script was kinda funny too. Most of the films like this just dont work out but it really did. The cast was amazing and funny on their own way. and the visual effect of the film was surprisingly amazing. I can count on one hand the amusing or slightly funny moments this movie had. That and the occasional cleavage saved this movie from a rotten 1/10, still, not really a recommended flick.

For the unaware, here's the plot in a nutshell: during the twilight of WW2, the tattered remnants of the **** party fled to the dark side of the moon, where they've been building spacecraft and plotting their revenge ever since. Obviously intended as a blunt parody, it's ham-fisted and dim-witted to no end. Loaded with bland, easy puns and flat punchlines, that makes Iron Sky satire in the same vein as Meet the Spartans. The film is set in the year 2018, so naturally the president is played by a porn-grade Sarah Palin impersonator. After reaching office on the back of a "Yes She Can" campaign, her big re-election effort involves sending a new mission to the moon, with a black captain, which is publicized as "Black to the Moon!" These are the big-laugh moments. Amidst such broad strokes, a few good bits do manage to slip in - there's something about a space zeppelin that's oddly hilarious - but they're like tiny dots of light lost amidst the hustle of a smeared canvas. I may have cracked a smile once or twice, but I groaned more times than I could count, and when it was all over I felt like apologizing to myself. There's a place for this brand of comedy in the world, I guess, but it's not with me.
