As usual, Araki gets mileage out of his bold art direction and color-saturated images, but the film’s greatest strength is its cast, including memorable supporting players who keep things humming.

This silly-sexy slice of pop-noir art world satire serves as Araki’s manifesto about the power and creative energy of the erotic, and it just might be the hottest, and most refreshingly honest, rom-com of the summer (replete with blooper reel).

Araki and Karley Sciortino’s script finds the comedy between the sheets and the vulnerability it takes to open oneself up to experimentation. It’s an outrageous story, but one that’ll provoke a few cheeky conversations and plenty of laughs.

For a comedy about kinky sex, I Want Your Sex is surprisingly insightful and complex.

In an indie landscape with an insatiable appetite for trauma and misery, it’s a breath of fresh air, a fun time that’s also a witty commentary on shifting sexual mores.

Mistakes make people grow. The pressure to make precisely the right choice — or else — is what’s gotten society’s bedsheets in a twist. This is not a movie about healthy intimacy but Araki does suggest how people can find it: Sex doesn’t have to be a life-or-death thriller. It can be, as it is here, a comedy.

Though I Want Your Sex is shamelessly silly and lacks the real-world concerns that made The Invite one of the best movies of the year so far, it does offer some wry insights.

Consistently funny and erotic, if ultimately a bit too straightlaced for the incendiary subject matter at hand.

I Want Your Sex may not ultimately have much to say, but its livewire comic scenarios yield the kind of raucous, sexually charged entertainment seldom seen in Hollywood of late.

It is a terrific platform for Wilde, who as an actor Hollywood never quite knew how to use properly. Often, the movies just wanted her to be hot, ignoring her obvious intelligence and comedic prowess. Araki’s film figures out how to use all her qualities in wildly entertaining fashion.
