Hitman stands right on the threshold between video games and art. On the wrong side of the threshold, but still, give it credit.

Here’s all you really need to know before the opening credits roll in Hitman: There’s going to be a lot of bloodshed. And that’s a good thing, considering there isn’t much dialogue to carry the film.

This movie is awesome and has great action. Great acting by Timothy Olyphant and he's great in Justified too. The critics always get negative on movie that were based on video games anyway so screw the critics.

This violent action is stylish but painfully formulaic, even by the undemanding standards of video-game narratives.

There have been plenty of movies adapted from video games before, but Hitman may be the first one that actually feels like a computer wrote and directed it.

While Gens can splatter gore with the best of them -- early in the film, a human body packed with C4 goes off in graphic detail -- he fails to stage so much as a single rousing action scene, even when he has four double-fisted swordsmen facing off inside an abandoned subway car. Game over. The audience loses.

Seeing Hitman isn't like playing a video game or even like watching someone else play a video game. It's like watching someone stupid play a bad video game.

A Eurotrashy vidgame knockoff that misses its target by a mile. Numbingly unthrilling as it lurches from one violent encounter to another, the pic's dark roots in an electronic, non-dramatic medium are plain to see, and unsuspecting gamers lured to theaters will soon wish they were back home participating in the action themselves.

Played a lot of the games never really took to the character or the series. However I really enjoyed this action movie. Cool shoot outs and awesome fight scenes. Fun chase movie overall. Best game to film adaptation since Mortal Kombat the movie for sure.

Hitman is another representative of unsuccessful film adaptations of games. An ordinary Hitman viewer may even like a regular B-action movie to watch in the evening. I looked and forgot. Then fans of the Hitman game series may not even inspect the film, it has so little in common with games. From the games here only the appearance of the hero and a little superficial lore of the series. Everything else is a personal fiction of scriptwriters and many more "cranberries" about Russia. And it seems that I already want to stop and turn off this indecency. But everything is so cryptic that it becomes interesting, and what will happen next. The level of delirium reaches its climax in the final. Everything is so bad in the film that it's even good. If you abstract the film from the game series, then Hitman will have a watchable action movie.

Not a bad movie but I wouldn't consider it good either. It's kind of mixed bag. I did enjoy it but it was pretty dumb and some scenes were laughable. That being said I liked the actors in it. The problem was the script. The main lead was good as Hitman. I think with a better script this could have been a great movie.

Not good at all. Firstly it is nothing like the video games (well I had to mention this, because after all it is supposed to be a Hitman movie), it just using the name to generate more sales. Secondly this film is just a generic action movie, with no character depth or development. After the first 20 minutes you have seen it all, the director will just repeat the same things until the last frames. Not even the action scenes are anything good. Mr. Timothy Olyphant is not a bad actor, but this role did not really suit him. Not recommended.

The movie is not only a bad action movie with mediocre actors. The main problem is, it is not Hitman. Hitman is a silent assassin, most of the time he is watching the pattern of his targets and prefer not to kill other people to stay unknown. He is a cold killer, because he is a clone programmed to be so. Therefore he kills every witness. In this movie he kills too many people, makes too much noise, is weak to women (how political correct...), although Nika for example is disturbing his work. Hitman would kill Nika immediately, but I guess it was a political decision to implement a female character into the movie and destroy it.
This movie has so many logical holes, what a disappointment, I prefer to play the game.
