Aside from the showy, overwrought credits sequence, it's silly and self-conscious and still scary as hell.

If the series really does end here, may this final installment be hailed as a triumph of poetic justice.

É o meu filme favorito da franquia já que desenvolve bem os personagens como a história, só que ele se perde em algumas partes. Minha nota seria 9.5

Final Destination 5, which, despite its lowbrow story, turns out to be one of the fastest-moving films of the year, is a suspenseful and macabre exercise in dread for the absurdly cosseted.

Periodically, thanks to the 3-D, a long and pointy object emerges from the screen, threatening to impale the viewers through their eyeballs, enhancing the movie's guilty pleasure by reminding us that we, too, are made of vulnerable flesh and bone.

Director Steven Quale is economical: He ditches plot altogether, delivering instead nothing but set pieces. He does come up with a few genuinely creepy moments of Hitchcockian edge-of-your-seat suspense and a few very inventive deaths.

Can this be the end of Death? If only.

The cheap thrills wear off way fast, and we're left with atrocious acting, feeble writing and clueless directing (from first-timer Steven Quale). The horror! The horror!

Great production quality and set pieces shine while the screenplay, casting and soundtrack only hit straight to video average. Worth a watch for fans of the disaster and horror genre. Switch your higher brain functions off and enjoy the ride!

first english, below spanish: english: 'final destination 5' opens with a swift introduction that grabs attention from the very first moment. although the franchise is already known for its formula, it remains strong here: striking scenes, original deaths, and exaggerated gore continue to be its main appeal. among them, moments stand out for their creativity and execution, leaving a lasting impression on the viewer. the film works as effective entertainment within its own universe: archetypal characters, a linear and superficial narrative, and a development that does not aim to transcend what the franchise has offered from the start. however, this familiarity has its merit, as the film manages to sustain tension and anticipation throughout. the pacing, though predictable, alternates visual intensity with pauses that allow the audience to digest the spectacle. the ending, as usual in the franchise, surprises with its unexpected resolution and keeps viewers on the edge of their seats, reminding why the series continues to attract genre fans. in short, 'final destination 5' does not reinvent the saga but consolidates its style: a film that relies on spectacle, visual horror, and creative deaths, meeting the expectations of those seeking pure and visceral entertainment. spanish: 'destino final 5' se abre con una presentación ágil que atrapa la atención desde el primer instante. aunque la saga ya es conocida por su fórmula, aquí se mantiene con fuerza: escenas impactantes, muertes originales y un gore exagerado que continúa siendo su principal atractivo. entre ellas, destacan momentos que, por su creatividad y ejecución, quedan grabados en la memoria del espectador. el conjunto funciona como un entretenimiento eficaz dentro de su propio universo: personajes arquetípicos, una narrativa lineal y superficial, y un desarrollo que no busca trascender más allá de lo que la saga ofrece desde sus inicios. sin embargo, esa familiaridad tiene su mérito, pues el film logra sostener la tensión y la expectación a lo largo de toda su duración. el ritmo, aunque previsible, alterna momentos de intensidad visual con pausas que permiten digerir el espectáculo. el final, como viene siendo habitual en la saga, sorprende por su resolución inesperada y mantiene al público al borde de la butaca, recordando por qué la franquicia continúa atrayendo a los aficionados del género. en definitiva, 'destino final 5' no reinventa la saga, pero consolida su estilo: un film que apuesta por la espectacularidad, el horror visual y la creatividad en sus muertes, cumpliendo con las expectativas de quienes buscan entretenimiento puro y visceral.

Just plain predictable and I guess all the destinations kinda are. But this makes no sense. Final destination 5 is the beginning of final destination first installment? Geeez can you say lazy? Total waste of time.

The final destination franchise is just some thrilling stupid fun. It's not an experience made to be analyzed or admired but instead enjoyed. Seeing the pieces fall into place or the tropes leading to inevitable death is just a gas. But in it's fifth installment the fatigue & lack of ideas is more exhausting than engaging.
