After seeing Everybody's Fine, Paul McCartney offered to write a song that plays over the closing credits. That may be because the whole movie is like a celluloid McCartney tune: warm and playful and sweetly earnest, but lightly funny, too, and crafted with consummate skill.

Now comes this American version, which turns out to be the exception, an American remake that's better than the European original.

Heartbreaking story that shows us how much the parents are doing their best to gather their grown children around them again, and how much we hurt our parents when we ignore them, this story is reflecting most of family life and I think instead of our effort to find the happiness far from them, we can find it easily with them. Watch this movie alone, no friends or others, to avoid side conversations and to make you emotions focus.

Everybody's Fine was a fun touching movie with beautiful cinematography and good acting. Robert De Niro was absolutely fantastic in his role and the movie was never boring.

All that could redeem this thoroughly foreseeable unfolding would be colorful characters and good acting. Everybody's Fine comes close, but not close enough.

De Niro, trying his ordinary-guy best not to be mannered, gives one of his most mannered performances.

Follows a dispiritingly predictable arc.

Everybody’s Fine – a movie about the lies grown children tell their parents – is, ironically, one of the most disingenuous movies to come out of Hollywood in a while.
10
The queasiness produced by this sentimental weepie builds into a wave of nausea during its interminable finale.

Everybody's Fine is a good family film that may have a few clichés but it does have a pretty strong cast with pretty good performances. Robert De Niro is great in this movie in a calm, laid back performance. This film is heart warming and it is easy to make connections with it. This film gives you a lot to think about.
